Ok, I finally crunched my numbers ( I think:scared:) for my trip.
anything wrong here, please let me know?
I have diff. options- here goes-
:)option 1- 1 nite R/O POFQ (rack rate still) +6 nites POFQ (gv)w/FD+150.00 tips TS = 2347(plus dinner on our first night) that includes 2 days tix:thumbsup2
I have a few days of old tix to use anyway,so here goes-
:)Option 2 can do POFQ at rack rate for 7 nites=1365+1456=2821:crazy2:
:)option 3 POFQ rack rate 1365=all CS meals +1 snack @812.00(max) =2177
:)option 4 POFQ w/discount R/O (maybe 20%)=1092+812(cs)=1904

This only works b/c I have the old park tix:cool1:...but it seems no matter what, the FD is our best deal! since the least expensive choice I have is only 170 diff. from the most expensive,it seems it's the best deal.ANd we get all that yummy food!
am I missing something? BTW,I'm not a huge eater, but my 3 guys can pack it away.......
plus I'm still waiting to see if I can get a discount on that room that one night......

$2347-$1904 is quite a bit more than $170 - it's $443. Now, the "yummy food" may make that worth it to you - only you can decide.

I'd go with the Room only. It's a better saving. Free dining is nice to have but it's less of a winner when you only have 2 people in a room (not sure what size your party is, OP)

It leaves you the option to buy the QSDP and pay OOP for any TS if you prefer OR to just pay OOP for whatever you feel like. With those numbers I'd take option 4

ok...thanks for pointing that out,my numbers were wrong( as usual:thumbsup2)
we have 4 'adults' eating, and they EAT. so while I could personally eat a qs kids meal and be fine, they all eat a whole adult meal each no matter where we go....
I will do some more crunching ( with my calculator:lmao:) and see what's what.... I think my original thoughts were also based the the tix value too- I realize they're not discounted, but still usable for park entry thus saving money...(?)

ok...so I remember what I was thinking while doing this....;) the actual package cost is only 1996.00 6 nites, 2 day tix,+FD- not bad.
Then I added tips for 6 ts meals (approx $25 per mealx6)
plus one extra night at same property, which, technically we could stay elsewhere to get by cheaper,we'll see about that :thumbsup2
that's where the 2347 came from.....so without those 2 added items, the diff. between the full package and the cheapest RO option is approx. 92.00
(1996-1904=92)
and since it includes the 2 days of tix- (which I may or may not need this trip) it seems like a good deal...does that make any more sense? or less sense?:rotfl2:
BTW THaNK YOU for all the advice, this isn't as simple as I expected!::yes::
I was thinking the 92 diff. is totally worth all the TS meals, which my DH enjoys very much.....

.....and....still thinking.....:dance3: If a room discount comes out....I could potentially do either FD package for 6 nights @1996+ room only one night for (25% off) total of 146.00= 2142- that's with food and 2 days tix.....(option #1 in OP)
OR R/O for 7 nites @ 1024(+tax) + QS plan for 4 (980.00)=2004
That's a diff. of 138.00,but the 2nd option doesn't give us the 2 day tix. So...take the diff. between the 2 options (138.00)+ tips for TS meals(150.00)=288.00
divide that by days use of tix (2)=144.00 per day divide that by 4 peeps=36.00 pp difference by doing the FD package over all QS.
Right?(funny how the math seems to change daily for me):scared:

...OR...and this is my last OR ( I think)
I could potentially do R/O for 7 nites (1024) and do QS meals OOP at potential cost of( 812.00) (16 per day snacks,40 per day lunch,60 per day dinner QS)
total cost 1836.00diff from original FD package 306.00
I just can;t get around the pricing,it seems like with the added benefit of the park tix,I can't do food significantly cheaper than just doing FD.... I mean,I *could* but I'm thinking ordinary, eating out vacation style type of food...not "make our own lunches and tote our snacks with us" type of eating.....

with 4 people and a moderate FD is your best option. Plus you have 2 days tickets if you need them or you can save them for a future trip

I was getting confused by the math, so I had to write out your options in full.

I think you were missing a day's worth of food in your option #1. You included a dinner for the night you arrive, but forgot about lunch and snacks on your first full day, before you check in under your FD reservations and get any FD credits. I'm also assuming your family doesn't eat breakfast. Even if you did, you'd have to pay out of pocket (OOP) in each of these scenarios, so it's a wash when comparing options.

For my numbers, I went off of your $1996 quote for 6 nights at POFQ, FD, and 2Day tix for 4 Disney adults. I assume this included taxes.

Option A: 1 night POFQ rack + 1 day QS OOP + 6 nights POFQ rack + 6 days FD + tips + 4 MYW Base tix (2Day) = 208 + 116 + 1246 + 0 + 150 + 750 = 2470

Option B: 7 nights POFQ rack + 7 days QS OOP = 1453 + 812 = 2265

Option C: 7 nights POFQ w/ 20% room only discount + 7 days QS OOP = 1163 + 812 = 1975

Option D: 7 nights POFQ w/ 30% room only discount + 7 days QS OOP = 1017 + 812 = 1829

Option E: 1 night POFQ w/20% room discount + 1 day QS OOP + 6 nights POFQ rack + 6 days FD + tips + 4 MYW Base tix (2Day) = 166 + 116 + 1246 + 0 + 150 + 750 = 2428

It sounds like you're leaning toward Option A (hoping for E). The difference between a 20% room discount and Option A is $494 ($453 if Opt E happens).

So, the question to you OP, is whether or not 2 day tix and 6 ts meals is worth $450-$500 to you.
If they come out with a 30% room only discount, are 2 day tix and 6 ts meals worth $580-$640 to you?
As a PP said, only you can answer for you and your family.

Good luck OP!

crispychicky, that wa very concise!:thumbsup2 currently booked with option 'E' we usually eat cereal and milk in the room for breakfast,so maybe 10.00 for the trip-
