Number crunching - what's better - FD or room code?

We have a FD code and a room code. Can't use both. Trying to decide which will save us more money. It sure was nice being on the dining plan last year. And the kids got fun snacks we would normally not spring for.

It totally depends on which type of resort and how many people. I think for the deluxes the room code is usually better.

You really have to do the math based on your resort selection, room category, members of your travel party, ticket requirements, dining preference and of course dates. Price out your trip using each code and see which comes out cheaper.

We need a little more information to decide. When are you going? How many are in your party and what are the ages? What resort you are looking at? Values is usually better with FD. Moderates depend and Deluxes are usually better with the room discount.

Not sure about you but I'd definately cheaper for us to get a % off our room but I haven't gotten a code for that, and since we are in a THV we may not get one, but we get get a code for FD so that's better than nothing I guess.

I priced out Free Dining, Room Code, and Kids Stay free and for us the Kids Stay Free was the best offer. I don't want the regular dining plan and so we had QSDP on our reservation and then staying at CSR.

I have not technically received a PIN for FD yet so just guessed by pricing out a regular reservation with no room discounts.

I looked at vaule for use for Sept (2adults 1 4year old). And rck room rate is $695 (sat to sat) so 40% off would be $278 off. Free dining for those days would be $573. So for us free dining is Better (if you would buy the dining plan anyway).

I'm so lazy. We weren't planning on going but I just can't pass up these deals. We prefer to stay at POR Riverside b/c we are a family of 5. We also prefer QSDP - we usually just eat one really nice sit down meal per trip. We are considering bumping up to a deluxe so I do need to sit down and put a pen to it. Kids stay and play won't help us anymore b/c our kids are 14, 11, and 8. Thanks so much. Off I go to figure it out. Hey, anyone know that least expensive deluxe resort off the top of your head?

Good point on 5 persons! We're always 2, so I don't think about that part (which I recognize is unhelpful in this instance. Sorry. :)).

I've had BC rooms that were cheaper than CR at the time. BC/YC/Bdwlk are similarly priced. Some folks are not thrilled at the lack of food options at these Epcot resorts.

Rack rate for late summer (8/21 - 9/29):

CR wing standard view $300
CR wing garden view $350
CR tower standard view $390

BC/YC standard view $335
BC/YC garden view $345
BC/YC water view $420

BWI standard view $345
BWI water view $425

I think it can be hard to get a discount on those standard view CR wing rooms.
