:confused3 Now, what are moleskins? I see they are listed (quite often) as an essential if you don't want to rub blisters on your feet while walking all over the World. My feet are VERY prone to blisters--even with broken-in tennis shoes. Anyone know what they are, or any other tips for feet on this trip??

ALSO, got a teenager (14) :cutie: who doesn't want to wear her tennis shoes with her capri length pants--GROSS!--(whatever). Anyway, any ideas for footwear that would not leave foot pain and still look cute??:hippie:

Moleskin is an item that can be found in the foot care portion of most drugstores.

It consists of a taupe-colored padding material backed by a layer of adhesive. You can buy a small roll of the stuff for a few dollars. You cut it to the size you need, peel off the protective backing to expose the adhesive, then press it on to the area of your foot where you may be having problems.

After reading about it in the Unofficial Guide (I'd never heard of the stuff), I bought a roll to bring on our recent trip to WDW. I didn't need it, but DW's little toes were getting red, swollen, and very sore by the end of the second day. Half way through our third day, she decided to try the moleskin out. She cut pieces off and applied them to the sides of her little toes, where it was hurting the most. After putting her shoes back on, she immediately felt the difference.

It didn't magically make all the pain go away, of course, but it kept her toes from being further irritated, and by reapplying it each day, we were able to keep going for another five days. Without the moleskin, she said she would have been down for at least a day to recover.

So, as with this trip, I plan to keep a roll of moleskin and some scissors in my fanny pack just in case.

Oh, thank you! I didn't know if it was a bandaid sort of thing or a type of SHOE!! :lmao: I'll take all the educating I can get on this subject!

It took me several trips to WDW to try the moleskin. But this last trip was heavon. I put the moleskin on where I normally get blisters and not a one blister was to be found. Remember to pack (not carry on) a small pair of scissors to cut it with. I have since found out about body glide that does the same thing and the professionals ( like runners and dancers) swear by it. I will try the body glide out too. You can find moleskin at Walmart and body glide at a sporting goods store.
If your daughter doesn't want to wear tennis shoes how about crocs?
enjoy

I've yet to be able to find this at my drugstores or grocery store pharmacy sections. I may have to just order it online before our trip in February.

This is what you are looking for if you have a CVS near you:
CVS Moleskin

Here is the Walgreens product
Walgreens Moleskin

And Rite Aid's brand
Rite Aid Moleskin

Try looking in the foot care section. Dr. Scholl's makes moleskin also but it is more expensive than the store brands. The store brand stuff works fine so save your money.

There are CVS and Walgreens store in Orlando so if you can't find it at home you could get it in Florida. I've used the moleskin when I start to get a blister and it really helps. It is a "must" on my list of things to take into the park. You will need to have a small scissors to cut a piece off of the bigger sheet. Or plan ahead and cut several smaller squares so you can apply them.
