Now THIS is a sand castle!

My husband and I spent a long weekend on Coronado Island and saw this on the beach in front of the Hotel Del Coronado:

I thought Disney fans would especially appreciate it! It was taken as the sun was setting.

And, not castle pics, but a couple more pics as the sun was setting. Coronado Island is truly a beautiful place.

We went to San Diego for the first time this summer and Coronado was one of my most favorite parts. The Hotel Del was amazing. We sat on the beach in the hot sun...feet in the ocean. Amazing!

We went there on Father's Day and they had an awesome Father's Day themed sand castle, too. I would LOVE that to be my job - sand castle builder at Coronado? Sign me up!

I said the same thing to my husband about building sand castles! That's a job I would love to have! Unfortunately, my sand castles would not be quite as amazing.

OMG, we made the exact same picture of the castle on 08/07 or 08/08 when were you there?

We were just there this past weekend. Maybe the sand castle guy is there all summer?!?! I talked to the "sand man" and he said it took him about five hours to build the castle, and it had been there for a couple of days when we first saw it. He said he patches it up a bit each day, mainly around the bottom where the tide washes around it.

I took a picture of him fixing portions of the castle the second morning we were on the beach.

Ha! Ha! I like the theme of your bathroom!

We have a room at our house that is used mainly by our grandkids, and the sand castle would go great in there. The room is beachy, nautical and has a couple Mickey "beach" prints on the walls, so I'm thinking of making the photo into a large, canvas print.
