my DH said he heard a conversation between some of the hurricane predictors on CNN or the Weather channel. They said that if we didn't have any major storms this year it would TOTALLY mess up the computer analysis programs. There has been no other time (on record) where a highly active season (i.e. 2005) was followed by a season with virtually no action (2006, so far).
It would be interesting to see what effect it would have on the predictions next year...
