would you ever sail on any other cruise line? If so, which one? And why?

I have only been on one cruise and it was the Disney Magic in 1998. We are sailing again on the November 3rd Wonder and can't wait!!

I have thought about this many times over and I said I don't think I will ever be able to sail on another ship knowing how much I love Disney because if I did I would regret not sialing with DCL. My DH thinks I am crazy for thinking this way.

Anyone else?

Lisa

DH wants to cruise on a different cruise line than Disney because of there being no gambling on DCL. The only reason I am getting him on the Magic Nov 30th is because we are cruisin on points.
I have no idea what cruise line to book our next cruise on - any help appreciated. We have a DS10 so some type of a kids club would be necessary.

We love everyting Disney. I think we are spoiled and nothing else would measure up to DCL.

Ditto plutojudy!

I certainly wouldn't want to chance going on another line and being disappointed! I like what's available on DCL and everything about it - slots would be nice though!!!;)

Hi,

Gee, I would love to experince another cruiseline...but gosh darn it everytime I look into something else Disney offers a discount and you just can't beat the service, selection, stateroom sizes, or ammenities for their prices! If anyone else finds a better deal let me know...

We have no reason to look elsewhere. DCL offers everything we need, want and love! I know there are other cruise lines that are also very good but the Disney experience, land or sea, is what we love. Aside from that, others that we know that have sailed DCL and others only confirm our thoughts. But...to each his own!

DisneyKids - wow! Back to back cruises! That sounds great!
Question - do you have to get off the ship after the first one or can you stay in your stateroom and ENJOY the ship? I know that sounds stupid but either way I could see it happening.

Thanks ahead!
Rae

We have sailed on Celebrity and Carnival. Celebrity because we were in a group and it was without our children in February. Carnival because of price. We even have taken our children on Carnival, big mistake since we took them on a Disney cruise first. They preferred Disney so we only will take our children on Disney from now on. We still have cruised Carnival, why, well price, it is cheaper than DCL if you book they way my husband does. He looks for last minute deals on their web site. We also like the different itineraries.Kathy

We've sailed NCL a few times too. No comparison to Disney!
Disney is more expensive, but let me tell you, I'd pay doulbe or more to cruise on the Magic versus what I have experienced on NCL. The NCL cruise were fine, we enjoyed them, but they were nowhere near the caliber of the Magic. We sail on the Magic again in less than a month! :)

Hi Rae,

From everything that I have heard, we will be able to stay on the ship. Not everything will be operating at full schedule (pools, food, etc.) as they prepare for the next group to board but we will be able to enjoy the ship when it's basically empty.

The back to back cruises are a result of the $99 deal for sailing in January. We are the types that like to cruise longer than 3 days so we added a 4 day to our $99 3 day and get a week at a very reaosnable price. The next 2 1/2 weeks can't move by fast enough!!

We have cruised Carnival, Big Red Boat, RCCL and Princess, but we always come back to Disney. You just can't beat the service and the whole Dis atmosphere!:) I have a 12 yo that is begging me to sail DCL again and I was afraid he was getting too old to enjoy it! LOL Course, I don't think I am too old, so I guess he wouldn't be! BTW, we are cruisin the Magic this December and CAN"T' WAIT!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

This will be our first cruise so I can't saw if I'd sail on a different ship or not. What I do know no is, the only reason I would - would be because of the destinations. If DCL does add new ships, well then the other lines are probably doomed in my book.

And since we don't gamble, we wont miss it or look for it on DCL.

DisneyKids -
Do you have room for me?! I wanna go too!!!!!!!!! WHHHAAAA!~

I think that's great about being able to stay on the ship - even without full service, at least you can relax! Someday I'd like to do the Western and Eastern together - wanna come along???!

Happy Sailing!

I've asked myself this same question. I went on my first crusie ever in August with Disney & loved every moment of it. On the one hand, I'd like to sail with another cruise company just to see how it compares, and on the other hand, I'm afraid it may not stack up & I'd be pretty disappointed.
For the most part, I'm not into gambling, but I AM into Disney, so I figure Disney is always my safe bet.

Yes...and we are considering booking it right now.
Weve done 2 Wonder cruises(and 1 Big Red Boat). Now we are looking at the Norwegian Majesty because 1)it goes to Bermuda and 2) the port is about 25 minutes from our house. That is VERY tempting. ;)

we totally adored our cruise on the wonder in july.....
and we're dying to go again....
the problem for us is location.....
we're on the wrong side of the atlantic.....the cost and effort to get to florida is hardly trivial....
so i've been doing a lot of research since getting back home...
one thing i've noticed.....it's true what they say about the DCL staterooms being bigger.....they are...much bigger.....
so that's a bit of a deterrent to us trying another line....
i finally found one that sounds perfect for me and my husband....radisson seven seas.....but then my kids wouldn't be happy as there's nothing for teens......so i guess we'll just have to wait until we get back to florida.....something that until now has been an annual event but now seems to be 3 years away.....nevertheless i think we'll wait until then or until DCL brings one of their ships across the atlantic...

We are sailing on the Wonder in about a month. This will be the first DCL cruise for us and the first cruise for our DD.

We have previously sailed on Holland America. It was very elegant and I loved it.

I am anxious to see which I will prefer after this cruise.

We have sailed Princess twice and DCL 3 times, with #'s 4 & 5 next month (back to back on the Magic :D ) We will be sailing Holland America in January.
We are in our mid 30's and have no children. We love the DCL ships and overall experience and we love Disney. However, we love to travel and see new places, so we go on other cruises. We did the Panama Canal in April and are going to Belize and Guatemala in January.
But, if Disney were to sail to more exotic locations, we would be sailing them!
I will continue to sail Disney and other cruiselines.
