mark your children's clothing and things with their names? My DD is starting Pre-k next week and I need to mark her clothes and things with her name. Besides her clothes, she has to take also a pink fleece blanket for nap time. Any suggestions would be great!!

Oh my. School has started? Where? my child does not go back until Sept 4th this year.

Can you stitch her name on a corner of the blanket? I did put my dd name or initials on her stuff way back then.

I use a black Sharpie marker on as many things as I can (saves time) and then I have iron on name tags for those things I can't mark with the Sharpie!

Good luck with the transition to Pre- K!

Wowza......our kids don't start until Aug 26 or 27.

I would also use the iron on patches or a laundry pen.

Lots of schools are year-round, my DD starts fifth grade on August 11. :)

For marking clothes, I also used a Sharpie laundry marker on the tags.

I also use the Black Sharpie (Permanent Ink) marker & write our last name on the labels. (If I just write his last name, then I can pass it down without my 2nd son having stuff with his older brother's name on it!)

I bought fabric markers at my local craft store - I am assuming they are pretty much the same as laundry markers. I wrote my DD's name on the labels inside the garments. :D Actually, I didn't like seeing handwriting in all her clothes - those iron-on labels sound good. Where can I find them?
