Now that January and February have passed...

Is it safe to say that the slow season during this particular part of the year is no more? I've noticed that January post holiday season was pretty crazy. The busiest I've ever seen it based on vlogs and posts on here.

Are there any slow weekends during this period left at all? I know there were some slow days mid-week in February. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to go back to WDW around this time next year. We would need the weekend for part of the trip due to work.

I would like to hear from those who've been to WDW and witnessed the crowds for themselves since 2019 began.

I was there Jan 29 to Feb 6. Then again Feb 17 to 24. I expected Presidents Day week (in addition to the Marathon) to be busy and it was. But I was surprised how busy it was early Feb. Much more than about the same time in 2018. My last low crowd Jan/Feb was 2016.

It’s going to be difficult to compare 2019 to 2020 because we don’t know how big an impact SWGE will have on overall crowds. Just because a particular week wasn’t bad this year doesn’t mean it won’t be a problem next year. I would book based on what time works best for you and have a good plan. A good plan is usually better than trying to second guess crowd levels.

We were there end of January/beginning of February and didn’t think it was that crowded. I don’t think you’ll be able to compare it the same with next year though with all of the new things opening this year

We were there from Feb. 26th to March 3rd and everyday, except for a Wednesday (2/27) at Epcot, it felt crowded but not mobbed. Touring Plan crowd levels were between 6-9 at MK, DHS and AK.

We were there the same week in February for the past 2 years. 2018 we were there 02/10-02/17, and it was very crowded, however, I believe it was due to Mardi Gras... there were people from Louisiana wherever we went... almost the entire Indiana Jones audience members brought on stage were from LA...:rotfl2:. Actually the stand by line that day for Indiana Jones went back past the Frozen show.

This year we went roughly the same week 02/06-02/14, and there was a noticeable difference in crowds... it was much more manageable. The Saturday we were at Epcot was very crowded, but that was my mistake to go there on a Saturday the weekend the Art Festival opened. Other than that crowds were not bad.

I want to go back the same week 2020 but am concerned how SWGE will affect that week. Now that the opening date is August I'm feeling a 'bit' better about the crowds come February, but have a feeling it will be closer to 2018 crowds vs this year crowds.

All I can think of in terms of next year, that you look up all the dates for the races for one. As there is the Princess Race in February, as well as a marathon in January. The week leading up to it, not just weekend I'd consider out. Look up any little holidays, consider the weekend before hand and the day of the holiday out in January and February as well. From there see what you have left. Also, stay away from the first few days of the New Year.

Also, I strongly suggest that if you have the ability to take time off that to do any vacation time you can during the week, not weekend, especially starting Monday, as it's the slowest day of the the week (since most people have to go back to work / school by Monday).

That is my general advice, as anything I, or we saw, or experienced this year means nothing since next year is a new year, with new events, new dates for certain holidays, and other things.
