I'm not liking them to much. And that got me to thinking... Do you have a set of pins that you had to have or collected that once you got done with you thought why???

For me it was the Champion Pin Trader Pins. I traded for (at the time this was all there were) all 4 pins. After giving up some great pins to get them I thought why... I ended up getting rid of all of them except for the first one.

How about you???

At some point last year, I jumped through pintrading hoops to acquire this set of three beautiful poster pins that were only available at the DCA preview days.

Well, somewhere along the way since last year, I realized that I didn't like the pins so much because they were from an event i never attended.

Recently, i was able to trade the entire set for a very good deal. I thought I would really miss those pins.....but I really don't.

To quote one of our DISpals, Hopkins: "I enjoyed them enough."

:)

Nat,

Good question! Just before our last trip, we went through all our pins for the very reason about which you're inquiring. With a 9 year old, it's difficult to let go of ANYTHING you've collected, but the three of us came to the conclusion that it was time for the Wedding Series to go. So, now they're in the trader book...

I voted (vehemently) for trading off the first 4 transportation pins as well, but alas, I lost that one...

I didnt generally collect the DS 100 years pins but I did get Snow White and the dwarfs because I thought the little train was cute. now that I have the entire set--I put it together in my pin book and thought--yeah its cute but it doesnt fit in with ANY other pins I have!! Also--I always liked Tinkerbell but am more of a Princess freak. I started with the Spoiled/Naughty Tink pins becuase they were cool. but then I bought a bunch of Tink pins in DL when I was there last year and next thing I knew I had a PILE of Tink pins. When looking though my book last week--I was seriously thinking about moving them into the trader pages.

 DL anniversary balloon pins and WDW CM balloon pins.
They just seemed to come to me. I had them as traders and wanted to trade them as a set. But people just wanted this one or that. So I decided to frame them. I just need the Pluto CM balloon pin.
Thye are fine pins. I'm just not a balloon person.
And most of the YoD pins fall into this category too. I knew when I started that collection I should have just bought the ones I liked.

Luv2Roam, I am going back & forth between here & pin chat - email me about a Pluto CM balloon.

Those stupid Comic Series and Newspaper ones. I now look at them "What was I thinking?'

And I must confess the 12 Days of Xmas - for some reason these kept popping up at me everywhere. And also those stupid Easter Eggs - it took my forever to dump them.

In an afford to weed out some of my pins, I decided that I did not need complete sets of anything, just the Mickey pin of the sets, which is usually the hardest to get.

So last year I took all the pins from sets, except for Mickey, and put them in my trader book.

I can definitely relate to this I remember I went crazy for the tokyo disneyland countdown to 2001 pin set, after having them for a while I wonder why I even bothered, I probably wont ever go to Tokyo Disneyland and to tell you the truth I didnt like them much. Oh well its too late to go back but I will definitely think all trades I make over so that I know the pin that im getting is one that I will definitely keep and like
