Are you able to make changes to "free dining" ressie? I was thinking maybe we would go for a moderate...
Well I was thinking this all along and forgot yesterday was the last day.
If not, I'm sure we will have fun at POP.
thanks!

I was able to change my free dining last fall about 3 days before final payment was due. I switched from a mod to a deluxe. It was after the promotion was over and I called WDW reservations and they came back with a list of what was available for my dates. They had a pretty good selection of deluxes I could switch to. We went with CR, there was no change fee because I was upgrading resorts and ended up paying an extra $600.

You may want to wait until 2 weeks after the 6/24 deadline to book. After that people who did not make there depostie would lose there reservation and there may be more available to choose from.

Last yr we added an extra night(flight had changed) and was not able to get the extra day of free dinning credits because the promation booking dates had ended.

I booked free dining (for this August) last December during the "bounceback" promotion. This was not open to the general public, just those who happened to be staying in a WDW resort at that time, so the booking window on it closed sometime in December 2006.

I called last week (which was obviously WAY past this particular booking window) to see if I could add another night to my stay. I was able to do so with no problem at all, and the extra night was free dining, just like the rest of it.

Sounds like people have had different experiences with this, but you might as well give it a try!

Usually you can modify these reservations provided availability is present but usually you need ask the CM at Disney Reservations to speak to Guest Services about the change.

Usually.

And even then if there is no availability on the promotion.. there's nothing they can do. :confused3

I was told by WDTC that once you have booked the package and payed the deposit that it's yours and you can make changes to it.

I still need to tweek my dates so that better be right.

LiteBrite, I got also the bounceback program and was thinking in adding another night. I made my reservation in the All Star Music, are you staying at a value resort or other? Thanks and sorry for my english.Vero.

I just called this morning to see if I could change resorts and keep my free dining and was told the only changes I could make were dates, number of people,or change rooms at same resort. (prefered, standard)I was very disappointed, our ressies are for AS sports which is my all time least favorite DR.

I don't think that is right - try again - I just tried to change it yesterday and she tried and said you can change resorts if it's available.

Could it be there are just no other resorts available during OP's dates?

Vero, your English is very good!

I'm staying at Pop Century.

When I made my change, the CM put me on hold because he said there was someone else who had to make the change, so it sounds like it was probably Guest Services that took care of it, even though I had called CRO.

For the record, the CM was very pleasant, and didn't seem to mind in the least doing whatever it was he did to make this happen for me. :thumbsup2

I just called back and was told the 1st person I talked to was incorrect but that there was no other resorts available. I think the 1st lady I talked to was new, first she said I could change then she came back several mins. later and said she was told she could not change the resort for me. I think I'm done trying and will make the best of all AS sports.

I say keep trying. Too many people have reported getting what they were after by calling back. Myself included. At some point you will get a sympathetic CM who will help.

The only difference between the "bounceback offer" and the "free dining offer" is that the BB is limited to max 10 nights while free dining is up to 14 nights. We had a 10 night package booked with BB and thus could not add another day. If I'd have known there was a difference I'd have booked the free dining on the day it was open for Disney Visa holders and cx my BB ressie so I could get the 11 days we wanted. I feel sorry for the CM's who have to know each offer, each PIN, different "rules" for each and then for us who aren't sure that the info we're given is accurate. I was told to keep checking though as we also booked a back to back ressie for another 10 nights with the "free dining" and IT can be moved to other dates, can add additional nights up to 14 total, moved to another resort, etc. If I can't move that ressie to the dates I really wanted before final payment is due, I will cx. it. I'm sure there are others who will be cx...so keep checking is the best motto to have. ---Kathy
