This is my third stay in a value studio, and the first time I haven't had a freezer. Maybe it's DVC's way of designating it as a Non-deluxe studio. But the ice machine is only 22 steps away.

It's just a refrigerator with no freezer compartment. Honestly, I've never seen such a thing. I took a picture and will post when I get home. This morning-no spoons! And there's just one bowl. Fortunately, I've been in value studios before, so I know this isn't the norm. Just not the best mousekeeper. Oh-and no sugar packets for my coffee!

Well, I just called engineering after a neighbor here was nice enough to show me their freezer. "Justin" (the engineering person) at first tried to tell me that there are no freezers in studios, but then he said he wasn't aware of this and would "swap it out" (don't know when). As always, I took a picture of my view and will post next week. Pool view, but up near Jiko, not straight on.

Well, they brought up a new refrigerator with a freezer compartment but it wouldn't fit-my counter is a little shorter than the others. But that doesn't explain why on trash and towel day I got no coffee, sugar, creamer, toiletries. The creamer and sugar are consistent-none were here when I showed up. Not the best mousekeeping. Need some more butternut squash soup to drown my sorrows (and I'll nab a couple sugars while I'm there). But at least I got a USA Today newspaper this morning, so I could do my sudoku. Sudoku at WDW-what a way to start the day!

Happy to hear the Soduku cheered you up! All our Value studios and studios in total have had a freezer compartment. Sounds like your fridge was replaced or maybe that unit was built differently and needed the shorter fridge.

We have a Value booked next month for 2 nights before we move to CL.


I honestly believe that we are being jipped by mousekeeping. It is harder and harder to get replenishments on designated service days. Did you get TP replaced?

Simba's Mom, that's one nice thing about AKV, often we've gotten the USA today when staying in the value section. I like the games page too!

I'm assuming you went and got one and not that it was waiting at your door somehow, though that's the way I read your post. Just making sure. Never had one delivered to me while I was there and I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong if your pulled that off. LOL

I don't know about Simba's Mom, but I've gotten a USA today a few mornings outside our door when I've stayed in a value studio.

Me too! I've gotten one outside my door every morning (except, of course, weekends). One nice thing is that although it's hot here, our town back home was the hot spot in the nation the other day. It doesn't feel so hot here now.

We just spent 9 nights there in room 5018. It was a DVC rented Value Studio and we had a freezer compartment and received the paper every day except weekends.

Having the freezer was great, since I was able to freeze some water bottles and then take them to the park the next day.

Also I agree that mousekeeping wasn't that great, but I really didn't know what to expect since this was our first time with DVC. But mousekeeping through out my bag that holds my pop up hamper.

Our view was the pool view too and it was awesome.
