Now it's time to say goodbye

As a resale buyer myself (though it was 8 years ago) the first thing I looked for was a range of points. I had a minimun and maximum number we decided on ahead of time... And only 1 resort my wife would agree to. I could have found an akv contract for $10 a point and she would have soad no lol. At that point for me it was about camparing what was available. It was a sellers market back then as the economy was still in a recession. I party feel guilty with my low ball offer. The owners came back with me their rock bottom price and we agreed. Other than price, size of contract and specific resort... I'm not sure there was anything else as a buyer that could "sell" me a different contract. It will take a buyer looking for your resorts. Loaded contracts are obviously more desirable... And can fetch a higher price than stripped or delayed closing contracts.

What is the buying and selling forum? Do you mean the Rent/Trade Board on the DIS? That's not a way to sell a contract at all. You can't sell anything on the DIS.

One more thing for the OP wanting to sell DVC contracts. Plan on paying a commission to any selling companies that you use to sell your points. Usually around 10% of the sales price. So if you need to sell fast, you may need to lower the price per point. And then plan on the 10% commission. You get what is left. If any of your contracts are financed and still owe money, you will need to pay off the contract before the sale can be completed.
Nah, I meant the Purchasing DVC forum which I thought was named Buying and Selling for some reason. That message was merged from OP's add'l thread in Member Services forum.

To DVC. We currently own at Poly and Copper Creek (Dec UY) and our travel priorities have changed. How does one go about selling their DVC ownership? I have no idea where to start.
Yep, go with Jason.

dvcresale sold both of my contracts - one 50 point sold in two days for a very high price. The second sold in two weeks for a reasonable price. Their service was excellent.

I am in the process of selling an August contract. It has a reservation at the end of this year which cannot be cancelled, so it's a delayed closing. It had no 2018 or 2019 points and about a 1/3 of the 2020 points. It took the normal amount of time with ROFR. We heard back that it had passed ROFR about 2 1/2 weeks after we sent it in. It sold in less than 24 hours after being listed. We aren't asking for reimbursement for 2019 dues, and we have to pay dues on the points we used for 2020. We priced it at the broker recommended price, and it sold for full asking. I just wanted to give you some real-time data since we are going through this now. I will say that anything under 200 points usually sells much faster than 200 or more. That's not to say that a 200 point contract takes forever, but they can sit for a bit if not fully loaded and/or priced really high. The contracts under 200 points seem to move quickly.

The DVC Store / Timeshare Store is a sponsor here and the only resale market users can link to. Any other business name is automatically redacted.

Well that's not true.

Any way to find out the reason for something being blocked?
Maybe they are terrible and I just got lucky with my experience.

Could be all sorts of reasons. I know of a business (not DVC related) that was blocked a million years ago because the powers that be thought they were advertising themselves, when they were answering a question giving ALL sorts of other business names and then including theirs as well. It was such a bummer.

To check, enter the whole URL. and click to Preview it. If it comes through, it's allowed. If it's *'d out, it's not.

Seeing that you have bought newer resorts and recently likely bought- are you 100% sure you are done with WDW?

Definitely an important question to ponder.

Nah, I meant the Purchasing DVC forum which I thought was named Buying and Selling for some reason.

But that's about questions involving buying DVC, not a place to sell DVC. :)
