Hello there,
As most knew, my sister and I were to be heading home (Key West) Saturday, but unfortunalty we had to cancel out again due to Hurricane Dennis. I spoke with my cuz that works at the hotel where we always stay to learn that the tourists were scurrying to US1 to get out of the keys - I understand, if Dennis keeps going the way he is right now, the outer bands will hit Key West at about 100 miles an hour - that should leave Key West with some real hurting. Anyhow my sisters and I are making plans to go within the next 10 days so will keep you posted especially since I promised to pick up a bunch of stuff for discruisers - Keep the faith, I will make it :)
anyhow thanks for the emails - it means a lot
Always
Shirley and Norm

Norm is in cold sweats since he doesn't know yet if he will be flying out Saturday, but there is always another time.

Hi Shirley, I was wondering if Dennis was going to mess up your travel plans for this weekend. Better to be safe than sorry, take care and here's wishing for better weather next week. Here's some :wizard: for you and Norm!!!

hey...i was worried about you too...as soon as they mentioned key west i thought of you! the disboards are always on my mind!!! :flower:

Hi, I just finished updating myself on this Dennis "thing", and thought, OH no, and well, just as well you delay a bit, and hope that Norm is safe and sound if he does indeed fly in Saturday..

Take care, and good luck to anyone in harms way.. :goodvibes

Shirley - I was thinking of you when I saw the forecast. Here's hoping Dennis misses all of Florida (including the keys) and you get to go home to visit soon.

Shirley -

I hope Dennis gets sent to "time out" in a corner....in another direction. You guys just stay safe!!!!

Ginny

you know your friends here are praying for you and your family in KW. Keep the faith.

Hello Shirley,

I remember how wonderful you were before our last DCL 2-1/2 years ago and I am so glad to see your friendly posts still gracing the board. :flower:

I know how frustrating hurricanes can be and I am sorry Dennis is messing with your plans. I hope things work out for you with going home.

I will wish Dennis away from Key West... will you please wish him away from my backyard where four of the five models show him ending up? We Floridians have had enough of that, don't you think? ;)

To all of those in harm's way of Dennis -------STAY SAFE --Melissa I remember last year when we heard of Jeanne heading up our Florida way again - our local newspaper had a drawing of Florida with a wided eye look, curled up around Alabama and Georgia and the caption was "We have had it" :cool1: - It was so impressive, I cut it out and had it framed. Anyhow we are suppose to have another busy summer so lets see what happens.
Stay safe all.
Always
Shirley
PS - Norm leaves today for his son's house and they fly out tomorrow at 8AM -just before the hurricane hits Florida - this should be interesting. :teeth:

Shirley, I am glad to hear you are rescheduling your trip. We know hurricanes are too unpredictable to be messing with. Safe travels for you and Norm when you do travel.

Shirley,I was thinking of you, too. I hope everyone stays safe.

Shirley,
Our thoughts are with you and your family.
God Bless.
Karen

Shirley,
I'm hoping for the best for you too. I was thinking about you when I heard it on the news last night...I remembered that you were supposed to make a trip down there. I hope that it goes somewhere else besides FL. I agree that FL has had more than there fair share of the bad stuff.

As for Cindy, she wasn't too nice to us here in GA. Tore the Atlanta Motor Speedway up pretty bad!

Pixie dust for you and Norm... :wizard:

As others have said, I'll say a little prayer that Dennis skips Florida altogether. :goodvibes

LOL Shirley, I missed that one. But I do have the "We have moved" one where Florida is wedged up between Montana and North Dakota with a little speech bubble saying "Enough is enough!" :teeth:

We are heading out for Michigan for a couple of weeks today, so good luck and stay safe!

Hi Shilrey! I was up in Cocoa Beach a couple weeks ago and came into your store to meet you. I said you were like a celebrity angel because of all the wonderful things you have done to help people. You told us where to go to eat (the Grill up by the boats WAS fabulous~we went night shark fishing after~ that would have been fun if I didn't get queezy!! but STILL had a beautiful boat ride). You also told us about the Wonder coming in the next day (highlight of my trip after meeting you!) in which we got up and went over to take pics to get us all excited about our Feb Family Reunion Disney Cruise, with my sisters family. Anyway, I have been thinking about you ever since going down to the Keys and now with this weekend, I am thinking of you again. Take care, all will be fine and angels will be watching over you. Thanks for all your help that weekend. I smiled every time I passed your shop!! Can't wait to come up there again! Karen Kappell Thacker ::MinnieMo
