Happy New Year everyone! Now it's 2014 is anyone else waiting for April for the new dates (hopefully offers like free dining!) I feel like I can finally say 'I am booking Disney this year!' Even though I'm not going until 2015, it's a little step closer.

Over Christmas at a family party, talk got to Disney and now it looks like there might be 6 of us going! 2 couples, and my other cousin & friend! Which would be great fun! But I'm not sure where too look to stay, apart from us 2 the others haven't been before so I definitely think we need to stay on site. We stayed at SSR last time but I don't think it's 'disney' enough for my cousins. Is OKW theming any more Disney then SSR? I like the idea of a 2 bed villa for us all, as the couples can have the bedrooms & my cousin & friend can have the sofa bed in the lounge! If you can offer any alternatives though? Does AOA sleep 6 in a family suite? What that set up like? Age range from 18-31 in the group.

Not even booked & I am excited! Due to universities though we think it's going to be end of Aug 2015, what's the crowd levels likely to be then? I know it'll be hot & humid with storms but I don't think that would bother any of us. Thanks guys!

The last week of August it has quieted down a lot. The first couple weeks in September are even better. If you can hold off a few weeks they begin decorating and celebrating Halloween mid to late September and its very quiet in the parks. That's our favorite time to go!:)

Me! We're not going until late October but we're already saving hard. We're hoping that they do the discounts on OKW again, otherwise we'll go for Port Orleans.

I'm hoping for the discount at OKW/SSR too, when we book I'm 2012 for 2013 we had 35% off and free DDP! Fingers crossed for a similar deal or I think we'll be looking at POR/POFQ but with 2 rooms instead of one!

Can't wait to go back!

Yes, I am waiting too. Want another deal for POFQ for next year and I'm booking as soon as the offers are out. I booked a few weeks after they were released last year and still had to jiggle about dates to get availability for a standard room with free dining. Of course I have no idea what offers, if any are going to be available for next year .....

I'm keeping my finger crossed for some offers! Come on pixie dust!

We booked last year for this year (yay! I can say that at last) and they had the same offer (35% off at SSR plus free dining) so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that they repeat it again!

Happy New Year to you all :thumbsup2

Yes, we are waiting too. Hoping to go mid August 2015 for 3 weeks (ish). Have to go then as we are limited to school holidays for the children.

It will be our first visit to Florida but I've done DLRP quite a few times, both before and since having our children.

Really excited and yes, I too am thinking 'hurrah, I can now say to people (when it crops up in conversation), that we are going to Florida next year'. :cheer2:

I am still not sure about accommodation - like the look of SSR and OKW but we'd need two studios I think (or similar) as I think my parents will want their own space - and not sure they'll have availability when we want to go with them being DVC. I have heard that POFQ/R are really nice too. Love the look of the Polynesian - which is totally different again - love the fact it seems easier to get around from here, particularly to the MK. But the price may be prohibitive on that one with their being 6 of us! :scared:

I also love the look of the Poly, but like you the price is the only off putting thing! Not sure my budget can stretch that far.

Does anyone know if you book when the offers come out and pay the deposit but need to change your dates later on if you're able to do so?

i.e. I think it'll be the last week of August for us, but if we need to do some changing of dates by a few days pushing it back will be able to and still keep our discount/offers if we're able to secure some?

Yes you can change your dates and keep your benefits, as long as you keep your booking within the period that the free dining etc originally applied to.

I have made four changes to our dates, one change to our park tickets and a change to our room category on our upcoming trip (yeah, I know :rolleyes2) and it's all been fine. On one of them the gift card disappeared temporarily, but they added that back and ditto for free dining when I recently added another extension to our stay, but it is doable without issue :)

Thanks 2Tiggis! Thats just what I wanted to hear! :rotfl2:

Im thinking we'll be booking 22nd - 29th August to make use of the BH here so less Annual Leave days to use, but I think if the flight prices are horrendous I might make some changes to the dates to get cheaper flights and move to early September instead. Hopefully the benefits they offer will still run around this time like similar years but it does depend on everyone else work commitments & university! But I know Uni's dont start until late on so Im not too worried about missing any vital dates.

By the time we go again it'll be 2 and a half years since our first visit! I honestly thought we would go once, but all I want to do is go back! Walt Disney knows how to do a holiday, he's got me hook line & sinker!

I'm another one itching to book! We are hoping for a 1 bed at OKW during the last two weeks of August. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the same offers we got in 2012 or I will have to re-think my options.:thumbsup2

Similar to us then except we're doing just a week and a 2 bed! Might see if we can do a 10 day trip though :) we think we'll try OKW this time as done SSR last year! So fingers crossed for both of us xxx

Hi Joolz

I remember you from the Paris bit of the board :).

Paris is such a different ball game to WDW isn't it? So much more to get my head around - I am excited and nervous at the same time :lmao:.

All the best with your planning. Seems like a few of us will be there August - we are looking for mid August (around 10/11th) to fit in about 3 weeks ish before back for the girls starting school early September (it's unfortunate in 2015 that they start back very early September, rather than a few days into it!).

Been doing some pretend price planing today on my lunch on the Disney Website for August this year :) Is it just me who does that or does anyone else play around to get 'approximate' prices!

I know there was an increase on prices this year from last year so I hope its not too much of a jump up for 2015!

Im also reading the T&C's quite heavily as I know deep down once I book it I am most likely going to have to change it again....!

I keep seeing how the prices change. If I were to book the trip we're on in August 2014 now, it would cost anything up to £2k more than we paid to get the equivalent trip... it's crazy!

When did you book your Trip BudgieMama? Did yours include flights?

Just being nosey really! If I can save £2k I'd be thrilled!

We booked in September 2013 for August 2014.

We were able to take advantage of a BA flight sale (we booked flights separately, as we had a £200 e-voucher refund we needed to use with BA)... Before voucher, flights were £1.4k for the two of us (so we paid £1.2k). Those are direct to MCO from Gatwick.

7 nights at SSR with free dining plan, plus 14 day park tickets (they were same price as 7 day, and gave us a little more flexibility if we want to visit the parks on the day arrival and day of departure) came in at £1.8k (so we paid £3k altogether... I thought it was more than that, but I just double checked!).

Last time I looked (last week!!), it was pricing that up at about £5k for the same options (same flights, adding in dining plan, etc). This week, they've put the discount back on SSR but still comes in at £4.2k for the same package...

It's well worth keeping an eye on things! :)

Eeek! Pays to book in advance doesn't it! You got a great deal I think!

I'm really hoping for free DDP at SSR/OKW next year as otherwise I just don't think we could afford it. It's nice knowing all your food is pretty much covered apart from a sneaky Margarita here & there! I'm not sure we could afford to stay at Disney & eat at Disney!

I'll have to get my spreadsheet head on for this holiday I think!

Yeah, usually better to book in the first round of discounts.

I've already pegged next year's dates. Due to traveling earlier in the year as of this year, than what we have for the last several in a row, it means booking next year's trip before this one is due to be paid in full. Just crossing fingers for a half decent discount and I'm getting my name on that reservation as soon as they come out. Just in case. You know  :rotfl:
