I just called AAA to ask about getting the new promotion added to my existing reservation. (August 10-19) We could get the promotion for the 13th -19th. Well, my TA wasn't there but the girl I spoke with looked up our reservation and said it was for the 6th-15th. :furious: I originally booked for the 6th - 15th but called within the week and asked her to change it. I've called her several times since about ADR's and to give her our plane ticket info for magical express - all for the 10th - 19th. I have had it with these people. I want to cancel it and make my own reservations but she won't do anything and says I need to talk to my TA on Monday. :rolleyes2

I don't have a Disney Visa but I was thinking of signing up online so I could have a better chance of getting the deal. However, I'm fearful about making a new reservation before the one with AAA is cancelled. I don't know if there's a cancellation penalty or not and I don't trust the TA to actually cancel it! She's lied to us so many times about doing things that she hasn't done. Sorry for the vent...

I used AAA for my last vacation and said I'd never use them again. I think if you want to cancel your trip, you do have to go through AAA to cancel it (but I'm not exactly sure on that).

I just booked this morning with the free dining and the CM never asked if I had a Disney Visa. I did use my Disney Visa for the deposit, but was never really asked if it was a Disney Visa. Also, the CM didn't even ask for the code. I just told him I wanted to book a trip with the free dining and that was it.

There is no cancellation penalty with AAA unless you're within the 45-day window which you're not if you're going in August. I cancelled my AAA package last year after much frustration when the free dining deal came out. I ended up booking a new package directly with Disney and then cancelling my AAA package. Too much aggravation with them!!

I can identify with that! I was thinking of moving our dates from the 10th - 19th to the 13th - 22nd to avoid having two packages and having to buy two sets of park tickets, so I checked Delta Airline's website to see what it would cost to change our plane tickets. I discovered that Delta has changed the flights times completely around and not notified us. One of the main reasons we booked with them is that they had the most convenient flight times. We were originally going to arrive at MCO at 10:50 a.m. Now, we're not arriving until 5:45 p.m. Also, our departure from MCO was originally at 6:45 p.m. and now we're leaving at 11:15 a.m. Maybe I can use this to get them to waive the change fees... These new times stink.

Delta will allow you to change the times on your flights since they changed the schedule with no change fees. Just call them and ask politely to change the times since the new schedule will not accomodate your plans (if you're not changing days that is, then that would be a minimum change fee of $100 per person plus any difference in the fare price (meaning if you paid $200 per ticket and the new day you want is $250 you would be charged $150 per person to change the ticket)).

Sorry you're having problems with your AAA agent. Hopefully the other agent you talked to just coudn't find the right confimation sheet with your current info. I know that's happened to me when I'm looking at other agent's stuff. We all have a different way of organizing things. So I hope that's the problem and nothing else!

PS: Apparently some AAA agencies do charge a fee to cancel, so double check before you do cancel anything.

Alice: PPS: The CM's know that all Disney Visas start one of two same sets of numbers. That might be why they didn't ask...

I had originally booked my August trip with AAA...TA was ok but I did have a problem getting my phonecalls/emails returned when I had questions & changes to my ressie.

Now that the free dining is back I called CRo directly yesterday & booked. I am going to cancel AAA monday (TA's not in til then) I am curious to see if the TA even knows about this new promo yet. I really like booking myself so I know I have the dates & other details right. Good luck...

Mommykds: Disney doesn't release any specials to us until the day before the promo comes out. (The only reason I knew about the free dining was because I got the email for being a Disney Visa cardholder!)
If any AAA agencies are open today, and Disney Visa cardholders want to book, you can have your AAA agent get the AAA benefits added to the package. Just make sure you ask! If they have no idea what you're talking about, they must not be Disney Visa Cardholders! :-)
