Now I'm scared...

I would agree with blackjackdeltan and HydroGuy, we live in Chicago and I would MUCH rather deal with the mid 80's in CA rather than the 90's in Chicago with 90%+ humidity. Plus what could be better than being in DL? :woohoo:

It was really too hot for us last year, we went in July. But as others have said I think that last year was more hot then usual!

We live in Nevada and were used to dry heat! Anaheim is not the same kind of dry heat. I mean we can actually feel the moisture in the air when we breathe while were there! So it's not quite desert dry for us! Last July not only felt hot, but it also felt humid. We've gone one time before in July and it wasn't quite that bad. So I think last year was just out of the norm hot.

But honestly I prefer early June, so I can get the more mild "June gloom". Or fall, like were doing October this year. I don't do well in hot temps!
Last July there was a heat wave in SoCal that lasted several weeks. Some days at DLR were over 100 degrees, and most were in the 90's. When I got there the first week of August it was in the low 80's.

I have been to Florida in June and August (and Missouri too God help me) and Anaheim in June and August. No comparison! Even on the hottest DAY at DL, the nights will be pleasant and in the shade its nice and comfy. In Florida, the shade doesn't help too much! And we have been in mid to late June twice (going for a third round this June) and its not that bad. If you know to get there early, before opening, and how to use fastpass you will be fine. Definitely read all of Hydroguy's links, they are lifesavers. Three days will be fine for you to get most if not all of what you want to get done. And not die of heat stroke in the process!

I forgot to add that we actually pick late June for our annual DL trip now. We love the longer hours and having rides, parades and shows all in full gear. The hottest time I ever had at DL was in May of 2004, it was nearing 100 each day (very unusual heat wave) but with water bottles, shade and the ac in the shows and rides we did fine. I have been at WDW when it was 20 degrees cooler but 20 times more unpleasant due to the humidty! Dry heat is still hot (hey, an oven is dry heat) but it doesn't zap you the way humidty does. At least in my experience

It's funny because I have the opposite fear. I think it will be too cold. I love Florida. I am from the North so when I go on vacation, I want it hot ! This is our first trip to DLR. The kids want to go to the beach. I am afraid it will be too cold to swim. Everyone makes fun of me, but seeing will be believing.

You know I was out in LA in July and it was over 110 degrees. Usually this doesn't happen.

Last year's temperatures were RIDICULOUS!

I live in Newhall, Ca about 45 minutes NORTH from Disneyland and last summer was the hottest so far. I believe the highest was 120 degrees! The average was in the 90s to 102 degrees.

Last year's temps were abnormal and I'm hoping we have somewhat of a normal summer (in cali  is there such a thing?) temperature

Anaheim isn't so bad since it's closer to the coast so you get nice breezes and WONDERFUL summer nights.

Its a good time to go, enjoy yourself and take advantage of late park hours.

You never know for sure what the temps are. We went on March 10-12 and had 92 and 95 degrees. The rest of the month was 70 and 60. It was hot!! we took the mid day break and it was fine. Last year was 60 and rainy. I liked pieces of each but overall it wasn't too bad.
