Now I'm really not happy

Nope. The letter of the law for DVC does not allow the cost for promotional items (including mailings, lithos, bags, etc.) to be passed on to the membership.

In a telephone call with my husband in October, Leigh Anne Neiman confirmed that DVC members are NOT paying for the costs related to this OKW extension - Disney Vacation Development is paying for the promotional costs.

I just had a question in regards to extending. Will they be offering this to the VWL and BCV? Im not sure what we would do but I am just curious. Thanks:cheer2:

This question was asked at the OKW extension meeting last week. The DVC reply was that no decision has been made yet about extending the dates at other DVC resorts.

We have already extended and set up the payments over a year, but we still received the mailer. So I assume it was just mailed to everyone. And I agree, there would be a lot more complaints if they changed the offer and didn't send it out to everyone.

I have not received any additional letters but sent my card back a few weeks ago saying No

I don't like high pressure sales, and this letter says high pressure all over it to me.

I'm thinking that if they called you directly on the phone it might be high pressure sales tactics, but a bulk mailing to all OKW owners is not high pressure imo.

I just received a letter today from my guide about the OKW extension. The letter talked about the no interest and no payments til March '09, and about the lithograph and what a great deal the extension is. I already sent my card back stating I did not want to extend, and with this letter today, I get the feeling they are going to bombard members like myself who said no to change their minds with similar letters and maybe even phone calls. This is wrong, no means no, send me the paperwork for declining, I'll fill it out and send it back. I'm not going to change my mind. I don't like high pressure sales, and this letter says high pressure all over it to me.
Relax its just a letter for you to read you can gladly throw it in the trash. What cracks me up is if they didnt send it to people and they found out about the offer they would complain of not knowing. I dont see what so high pressure about sending you a letter that in 5 secs you can throw it away. Are you that easily swayed.

I also sent the card in several weeks ago that we would like to extend our contract and still got the letter yesterday.

I guess I should also mention that the card spurred a call to our guide. Because we set up the 12 month payment option and our guide told us it would be 4.9% interest. Now they are saying 0% with a 2 year extension at 4.9%. Sure glad we got a card.

I have read this thread with much interst and some amusement. If this mailing has really steamed the OP off so badly, then perhaps it is time to reconsider the DVC in total?

Of course, I'm also just a little bit Off The Deep End!
