Now I Am Way Way Way Annoyed!!!

Menus can change at anytime. I don't think it's worth getting that upset about.

Also the maple creme brulee was gone for awhile, I believe it was just added back to the menu. One change I'm sure a lot of us are happy about.

Then go ahead and cancel them.......I am sure someone else will be more than happy to take them.

I agree with you, if she is upset, she should cancel. When she cancels she should tell the CM exactly why she is cancelling. Then she should e-mail Disney and explain what she's done and why she's done it.

The tone of your response implies that somehow Disney is beyond reproach. It may be a huge corporation, but even a huge corporation has to respond to consumers. For every person who cancels and complains there will be 10 who just don't show up for their reservations.

I don't understand the need to be rude and condescending. Most of the replies here seem to be meant to reprimand the original poster. People who post in that tone must be convinced that they are somehow either the gatekeeper for this website or that people here need to be mothered. There is way too much of that on this website! And, yes, I've decided to confront this each time it arises.

If you feel the need to save the world, find an organization near you that needs your time, effort, and energy. Lecturing or sniping at strangers on the internet is sad...and ruins the tone of the website far more than a blue word or two!

I say cancel the Le Cellier ADR. We just ate there. The maple filet was still on the menu and it was bad big time. I would go somewhere else. The place is just not that good. I do not understand what all the hype is about it.

I'm another who was disappointed that the maple bbq steak was gone but I ate something else. It wasn't as good but I enjoyed it. But I did have the Maple creme brulee for dessert. It wasn't as strong in flavor as when I had it a couple of years ago but it was good.

Oh and we were there two days after Easter. This was 9 days into the new menu.

Oh and we saw people getting the smores.

HTH,
tara

I feel you... they could have at least eased us into the various changes!!

We loved the maple filet too... I'll probably end up getting the Mushroom Filet and DBF the NY Strip :)

I'm more annoyed about them taking away my beloved Chocolate Moose... NOOOOO!!

I think someone said the Chocolate Moose was still available on the Children's Menu.

I wouldn't normally comment either - but I must say I agree with you totally - infact I didn't really noticing the 'potty language' from the op, but it was all the other posts that brought it to my attention!!!:confused3 - never mind, back to the topic......

....It is a shame when something you've really been looking forward to disappears, just need to hope that something extra scrumptious takes its place!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

BRAVO! I feel that way too (however we are reprimanding :rolleyes1 ):rotfl:

hope you find something else to love on the menu, if you go again!

I was just complaining to the CM last night that my "macadamia mahi mahi" was off the menu at Kona and he almost started crying as that was his favorite meal item too!:rotfl2: But I found plenty of other places to fill in the holes in my adrs.

Man, I am way way way happy: :goodvibes

I am getting to go to WDW.
I am getting a whole week off work to do it.
I am going with my DH who is my best friend.
I am getting free dining.
I managed to get ADR's for Le Cellier. Even though they are for lunch, we couldn't get a reservation there last time at all.
I am sure I can find something good to eat there -- and every other place we eat at WDW. I will soak up the atmosphere and plan on enjoying myself every minute of my vacation.

C'mon folks, we are all so fortunate. Count your blessings, and try not to let a menu change ruin your day... ;)

I don't get the tone from that post that Disney is beyond reproach. They just made a statement that is pretty true-ADR's get snapped up quickly especially at LeCellier.

I'm not trying to be snide (really I'm not) but if you intend to confront people, aren't you doing the very thing you don't like?

To the OP-Have a great trip, no matter where you eat.:thumbsup2

if the OP is unhappy about the change in menu, LET HER! It IS disappointing to plan trips around specific restaurants around a specific dish only to find that the menu changed. I know I have changed ressies and made other plans for that reason.

At Disney, IMO, certain restaurants have very special dishes only available there. I know exactly what I plan on ordering at certain places. I am not interested in trying something new when the only reason I go there is for a specific dish.

At Le Cellier, the only thinh I would order is the muchroom filet (sorry everyone, my fav is still there!). If they removed it from the menu, I would not return.

That's my perogative as a consumer.

Is it the end of the world? Nope

Would I be bummer? Yup

Vent away, it is your right. As long as it is kept Rated G-Pg, all is good :thumbsup2

When we last ate at Olivia's it was right after the menu change there. I was told by our waitier it was due to all restaurants switching to a more vanilla type to accomadate the DDP and there were getting a lot of complaints. To change a menu to keep it fresh is one thing but to change it to make it more vanilla so it can be mass produced like much is at their large offsite kitchen near DTD is another. I have since read that at least at Olivia's some of the favorites are back on certain days...smjj

It was my 10 year old son that saw it and brought it to my attention...:rolleyes1

I don't know about the rest of you, but in our house that language is unacceptable. To each their own.

Thank you to the OP for changing the wording.;)

We are going to Le Cellier in a month and I am anxious to go....Because I can get my favorite soup and pretzel bread.......Yah I could make it but heck........at DISNEY I can go and sit down at a table.......I didnt have to set the table, make the food or clean up after....so to me ANY meal is a great meal...give me a double cheeseburger and I am happy....
I agree.....there are plenty of restaurants at Disney and I can maybe try something new by going to these....I know some foods I was not happy with, but it wasnt because it was horrible. IT was because I didnt care for that type of food....and others rave about it. BUT I tried something new.
Hope you all have a great time in Disney and enjoy wherever you decide to dine..

I believe this is (sadly) the case at many WDW restaurants now. I just posted about two recent experiences at Jiko, and making the menu more "vanilla" is exactly what our experiences were.

I keep all of our itineraries in a filing cabinet, and I can look back to see how many onsite ADRs we have on any given trip. September of 2001, January of 2002 and May of 2002, we had at least two ADRs per day -- always a dinner ADR in addition to either breakfast or lunch TS. I just booked our September trip (we do not do DDP) and we have two dinner ADRs all week, V&A and Wolgang Puck upstairs cafe. The rest we're going off site. I can get vanilla at home :guilty:

I wish more people who are disappointed with these menu changes would do the same: Speak with your wallets and go off site. I know it's easier said than done, but I think it's the only thing that will get the message across.
