Now Approaching... Sleepingbooty's Sept. PTR (We're BAAACK! 9/26)

Hi, Rebecca!! The Keens are super cute! I've heard bad things about Teva's before (I personally don't think they're supportive at all), but I've never heard a negative review about Keens. Hope they're comfortable enough for the girls!!
I remember reading about your sherpani bag on Meghan's PTR-- it's really cute! Looks small and light, just like you want. Love the color, too-- did you get the lime?

Thank goodness I didn't miss the Bag and Shoe post! ;)

Everything looks great to me...girls' sandals look nice, and impressive shopping prowess on finding the bag online with free shipping!

Shopping! The best part of planning a trip to Disney. It never fails, when I start packing my clothes, I always buy new shirts. Can never have enough fun summer clothes. I like that little bag you got. I hope it works for you.

I would call Zappos and have them price match the place you found the shoes. I know they used to do it. They may still. They would price match and give an extra little discount. Try it!

I bought two bags from ebags to figure out which one for Disney.

I like your PTR!

:lmao: Yeah, but then they'd stink up the room. One time, some kids from our youth group left a banana under the car seat of one of the workers who detests bananas even worse than I do. She finally started smelling it after a couple days, and barfed when she took it out all brown and overripe. :rotfl2:

Ahhh, the joys of youth work! :lmao: Fun times!

:rotfl: oh sure, "some kids" did it - sure you didn't have anything to do with it, Liesa?;)

Keens are the best and really the only issues I've ever had is width and since you got the open toe version that should help with that and also let them breathe a little more in the heat. Mine are coming with, they are just a little more casual then I want for every day but I'm sure I will wear them quite a bit.

Cute bag! I have looked at the line before, actually gave one as a graduation gift (their bigger laptop/messenger bag, same colors) and it is a quality bag. I have the same issue with the bagallini, bought one last year for our trip and have never really used it.

I need to sell it! :rotfl:

I just broke down and bought a pair of Noat's for the trip, My feet are so prone to swelling and blisters in that heat that I need a shoe rotation schedule. I wore my Privo's on a 7 mile walk and got a slight blister on the back of my heel so decided I needed to supplement then with something that had support, but no back strap. So I have a nice rotation now of park shoes to bring that should cover any issues I might run into. And be able to match with all the potential outfits. Hey, I figure I'll be doing 2-3 outfits a day in the heat, I need shoe options!

:rotfl2:

We need to get Kendall shoes this weekend. We wanted to order it and realized that the lukewarm reaction we were getting out of her really boiled down to her wanting to try them on herself first, she's not a fan of ordering anything online. Almost irrationally so and I've no idea where it comes from but...we'll roll with it!

Cute shoes :goodvibes

I love that bag. I've been forever searching for the perfect bag for the parks. I end up with a backpack every time though. :guilty: I really like that bag!

My DH usually wears sneakers to the parks and flip flops to the pool. I just don't like my toes all scruched together in hot sneakers all day. Yuck!

I totally agree - I'd much rather wear some kind of sandals. In fact, I sometimes wear flip flops at the park - my Teva Mush flips have seen much Disney action!

Meghan got a sherpani? Dancegirl Meghan? I didn't remember that.

I have a pair of Teva sandals that I wear to the park, and while they are comfortable, they really could use some more arch support. I wish the Keens fit me right because they do have more support. Too narrow I guess. I hope the girls like them.

I wrote it with you in mind, Glenn;)

:cheer2:Hi there! Thanks for joining in!:cheer2:

Good idea about calling Zappos. I wonder if they'd price it since I already placed my order? I guess it doesn't hurt to call, right?:thumbsup2

I've done it before after placing the order, but it was a few years ago. As long as you can tell them the website, and they have it in the same size and same color you ordered it in they would do it. Hopefully they will and then you'll have a little extra Disney $$.

I am soooooo positive!! What comes around, goes around!! And I want NO bananas rotting in MY car!

Love the shoes. Need some myself, but have the dilemma of not being able to really get a pair until I get back, which will really be too late to get a good feel for them before I got to WDW. :headache: Not sure what to do!

I probably ought to try some other Keen styles myself to see If I can't find something that fits right. Unfortunately, I can only find the two most popular styles in the stores. I guess I could order and return from Zappos, but what a hassle.

I was thinking they same thing! I might stick it on ebay for 10 bucks and see if anyone bites.

Never heard of Noat's, I'll have to check that out. I usually bring only 3 pairs. My Teva sandals, my Teva Mush flips, and my tennies. Fashion goes out the window for me at Disney!:lmao:

Well, how things look on you is so important at that age. I can see why she'd want to try them on first. Its a teen thing!

I think with a backpack I'd fill it too full. Then I'd DEFinitely end up with back pain. I used to actually use a fanny pack, until I saw how dorky it looked in pictures.:headache:

Ok, I just have to dive in and share my thoughts on this: (I just know I"m skating on thin ice, so sorry...)

I think it is about 1/3 as "dorky" to wear a backpack then end up with a ton of pix with your shoulder strap from a bag making "things" look terribly ummm.... out of whack. Kinda lopsided, and "not in order". I really don't know how to delicately put this, but sometimes I see pix on TRs that just seriously make me cringe! :scared1: They are out of fashion and all that, but they are comfy, and fit just the right amount of stuff in them.

OK, having said that, I am taking a bag (over the shoulder) this time, and just know that I"ll end up just as described above. :rolleyes1

Your girls will probably love the keen's. I was going to get them for my girls but the I found adventure sandles at a stride rite outlet. One of my girls loved it and lived in them on our disney trip. Other DD would not try them since they were purple
They are very similar to these but in a purple.

First day in disney she asked if I would go buy them for her. I wound up getting her these timberlands.

I found them in the timberland outlet for $20.

I wouldn't bother, they are pretty consistent in the fit

exactly. I am not sure if I still have my tags but basically it had 1-2 test runs and I went...bleh. So for all intents and purposes, it's new.

I hadn't either, a friend raved about them. I'll have 4 park shoe options, a pair of haviana's for the pool and then 2 dressier shoe options, a flower beaded flip flop and 1 heel, all of which are super comfy. And really, that's pretty darn good for me to keep it at that! :rotfl: I think I took more pairs than that on the spring break trip. My feet are so prone to issues that rotation is key. If I do that, I'll be fine but I've paid before and it's just not worth it. I do worry about luggage weight but that's another issue entirely!

Park shoe wise, I'm bringing these. I wear all of them all the time at home, well except for the Naot's which just showed up but hope to break them in this weekend.

These caused the back heel issue but they are SO comfy and have tons of support, if I rotate them in and out, they should be fine and I love them. Plus they match with about everything.

These, which I love. They did really really well on the spring break trip but with all those straps I worry I could have issues so don't want to plan on them being the only player in the game. Plus if my feet swell too much in the heat, a possibility, they may not be quite as comfy as normal.

Old faithful, my keens. They don't quite match with everything and are a bit casual at times depending on what I'm wearing but I love them. No back strap, important in the rotation. I actually considered just getting another pair in a neutral but upgraded to the Noat's instead.

And these, the latest and greatest, the Naot. Truly the greatest, who knows but I wanted a dressier sandal than my keens that did not have a back strap at all. I tried another style first but it was too narrow. The footbed on this is amazing! We will see how it does.

I haven't decided about tennis shoes. I will not wear them to the parks, that's a given, it's a matter of do I plan to work out or not.
:rotfl:

Not planning on bringing my Teva's right now.
Well, how things look on you is so important at that age. I can see why she'd want to try them on first. Its a teen thing!
I think it's more of a fit thing, she's got foot issues of her own, new cleats have been an issue.

Jeff carries a daypack. Me, though I will have 5 bag options with me (all fabric, small and flat lol), will often go entirely without (making him carry things like ponchos and sunscreen) and put what I need in my pockets. I love cargo shorts and capri's for that reason.

that's EXACTLY my issue with the side body bags....they are a no go for me. We often, if we both bring bags, just get a locker.I don't think we will need to this trip as we are hopping so much but....it could happen!

A banana rotting in the car would be pretty bad - but nothing is worse than a two week old sippy cup of milk that rolled under the seat. That used to happen to us on a monthly basis it seemed - so glad we're passed the toddler years. Well, sort of. Its the downside of babies and toddlers I need to keep reminding myself of to fend off baby fever!

I can't even COUNT how many of those green rotting blobs we've cleaned out! They smell just like vomit! :scared1:
