Now Approaching... Sleepingbooty's Sept. PTR (We're BAAACK! 9/26)

I'm thinking $9 a person isn't so bad!

:confused3

Raisin bran- gotta love it! ;)

I agree (although since we won't be splitting it 10 ways, it'd be more than that. Still the best deal if all 6 of us go.

Girl, I think you may want to skip the Raisin Bran, aka Colon Blow, this weekend!

I think "the company that shall not be named" is your best bet.
I have trouble figuring out tipping, too. I'd say for $75 fare, I'd tip 10 bucks.

That's about what I was thinking. I'm not real well versed in tipping for service other than restaurants, stylist, etc.

I have my flashback/pre trip report going on at the mo.. it's linked in my sig.. Won't put up the dance pics though *** none of them are mine... borrowed from others they're on my facebook if ya wanna see though! All the dance stuff my mam got was on video!

I'll check it out!

ugh! This has made me realize that I don't have the car tip factored into my budget.

:rotfl2:

rats, I wish I'd known about the company that shall not be named. I looked into the DIS sponsored one and they were the most expensive option. We ended up going with Mears towncar/van for 3 legs. We have one, for 8 people YC to HRH, one for 2 from HRH to MCO and then one for 4 from HRH to MCO. All told it was $138 so I feel ok about it.

Sounds like you still got a pretty good deal - $138 for all three legs?

I can't believe you forgot to factor the tip - I thought there was no detail you'd left unconsidered!

Soooooooo, do I have to tip maroo if she's driving?? :rotfl2: She won't let me, because I happy dance on property and she says I might run the car off the road. I guess the Mears guys don't do that. :confused3

Sounds like the van from the company of unmentionable nomenclature is the way to go. I would definitely say it’s not worth the hassle to rent a car.

Yes, you MUST tip Maroo! Now what would be appropriate? I know, pay her in bananas - I'm sure that'd be appreciated!

And therein lies the problem. Jeff assumes that too and then we all go, OOPS, forgot that!

Yep $138 for all 3. Time and place of our choosing, seemed like a darn good deal to me!

They expect perfection, don't they!

Add to that, the pressure to do a PTR update... its coming, I promise...

:lmao: Yeah, but then they'd stink up the room. One time, some kids from our youth group left a banana under the car seat of one of the workers who detests bananas even worse than I do. She finally started smelling it after a couple days, and barfed when she took it out all brown and overripe. :rotfl2:

Classic!

Stopping in to say hi :wave2:and join the PTR party

Chapter 38. Shoes & Bags!

I am so excited that it's finally time to do my first shopping update! You know its getting close when you start buying things for your trip. Well, I do anyway. I know some of you start shopping 12 months in advance!:lmao:

My biggest concern has been new footwear for the girls. I don't like to do tennis shoes all day everyday (for me either), so I've been wanting to get them some good walking sandals. But the frugal side of me has a hard time coming to terms paying so much for shoes that they may only wear that week if they outgrow them before next spring. At least with tennies, they wear them all year long, so if I spend $50 bucks on them at least I'll get my money out of it.

I ended up finding these Keens, which I ordered on Zappos, for $40 each. I actually found them about $5 cheaper on another site, but that site didn't have free return shipping like Zappos, and I'm concerned about size so I didn't want to risk it.

Pretty cute, huh? I'm just praying that the girls find them comfortable. Last year I ordered them some Tevas before our trip, and after wearing them for a day or so after they came in the mail, they both complained that they hurt their feet. So I returned them and we just went with tennis shoes, crocs, and flip flops.

My other fun trip purchase
this week was a new bag for myself. The last couple years I'd used a Baggalini, but I actually found it to be kinda heavy. I really like to travel light now that I don't have to drag baby and toddler gear around with me (and I don't have a stroller to store stuff in). The strap on the Baggalini has a zipper pocket that you could put money or a cell phone in, and the strap itself is made out of seatbelt material, plus it has heavy metal buckles, so even with an empty bag there is considerable weight to it. Believe it or not - just this amount of weight gives me a sore back after a while. I guess I'm just a wimp. I don't understand women that walk around with 20 pound purses (like my mother) everyday!

So, I was out and about the other day and saw a woman with a really cute, sporty little bag that I thought would be perfect for Disney. She told me she got it at REI, so I checked them out at the store. Its very light, and has all kinds of pockets everywhere. It was 40 at the store, so I decided to come home and see if I could find it cheaper online. I was able to get it on sale for 32 at ebags, and then I scouted out a free shipping coupon code. Score! Check it out - isn't it cute?

Next on my shopping list are new Tevas for Scott, and maybe some new shoes for me too. I'll probably wait until mid August before I start checking out the clothing situation, since I love those end of season sales. I bought the girls each a Tinkerbell tee-shirt at the Disney Store outlet when we were down at the lake, but so far that's it.

Cute shoes and bag!!! Call me crazy, but I only bring flip flops to Disney. I live in them from April (as soon as it hits 45 degrees, I'm in flip flops) to October. I absolutely hate wearing sneakers! For Madison, I bring flip flops to wear to the pool and then she wears her Mary Jane crocs in the parks. She has never complained about her feet hurting. She wears them almost everyday in the summer anyways...I even had to buy a fresh pair just for our trip because hers are so beat up already.

My DH usually wears sneakers to the parks and flip flops to the pool. I just don't like my toes all scruched together in hot sneakers all day. Yuck!
