Okay, now I'm looking at another option:

There is another MNSSHP on Tuesday, the 21st. We currently have that day scheduled as an Animal Kingdom day. I have two ADR's: Chef Mickeys for breakfast at 8:30, and also Chef Mickey's for dinner at 5:00. I was still deciding which one to cancel. We were leaning towards keeping the breakfast, then heading to AK. Then going to DTD in the evening and eating dinner at Earl of Sandwich.

We could scrap the breakfast, and do AK first thing. Then come back around 2, take a break, change clothes and head to CM for dinner, then on to MK for the party.

This would eliminate our only chance to go to DTD, unless we went Saturday after dinner at Ohana's (we won't be able to go back to MK with the party going on), but again, we probably won't get there until 8 or 8:30. I wouldn't be devastated if we missed DTD, but I do enjoy it.

Also, we might be shortchanging our AK day. but honestly, we never stay all day anyway.

Hmmm, I'm starting to think this might be the answer!

I think option 2 is your best bet-- maybe I'm biased because we're not AK fans, but I think I think that's your best shot for going to the party. I feel like going to DTD after Ohana is a good idea-- 8:00 or 8:30 is not too late. Everything will still be open.

I'm thinking you might be right. The other thing we could do, is instead of going to DTD Saturday night after Ohana, we could go Sunday night after WCC. Right now I've got us scheduled to go to Typhoon Lagoon that day, and MK after dinner. But since we're adding another evening of MK if we do the party, we could go to DTD then instead. I need to check on the Marketplace hours on Saturday and Sunday and see which would be the best bet.

I wouldn't skimp on AK, but that's just me. I like DTD too, though. What a tough decision.

Well, despite your complete lack of assistance, I think I managed to make a decision. I'm thinking my option #2 is going to be the best bet. I don't want to count on the slim chance that I can rearrange my Ohana ADR. It probably won't happen, so I'd rather go with the day that we already have an early ADR. Now I just need to buy the tix and we're good to go. I think we've got some time on that- I doubt a random Tuesday in September is going to be a huge sellout.

Thanks, Cynthia - I will probably hit you up on that. The thing I want to make seems pretty simple, but after looking at all the Disigners threads, I haven't found anything exactly like it. I saw somebody use it as their avatar - and I wish I'd made note of who it was. Basically, it was a black outline of a mickey head, and in side were the names of the family members sort of scattered about, some extending a bit off the side, and in the center it would say "so and so's disney vacation, 2010." Probably doesn't even make sense when I describe it like that.

actually that kind of makes sense and would be super easy. Best thing to do, if you have a scanner is just make me a little sketch of positioning and what you want it to say and colors for the word setc. Font preferences if you have them or if you want it all in the main Walt Disney font or other related ones. If no scanner, just PM me names and such and I'll play around.

and a belated vote for option #2. I'd take MSSHP over DTD if it came to that, any day. DTD you can play by ear, it won't be too late, it will be more a matter of whether you are up for it or not.

TGM is another touring plan service, supposedly more reliable than TP. I believe A uses it.

We are doing MNSSHP. From what I read, it is best to be early rather than late. A has been to it and loves it. Will you be too tired to do it that first day, with just traveling into Disney? The first parade I believe will be at 8:15, second one at 10:30. HalloWishes is at 9:30. I think I would elect to do the 21st but that is what I believe would be best for my family.

I think you're right, a Tuesday shouldn't be too crowded AND re-arranging the 'Ohana might be rather tough. Good call!

Thanks, Cynthia. I may do that! Still trying to play around and see what I can come up with. Do you use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements? I've got Paint.net (free, open source - a lot like PS) but the learning curve is pretty steep. I'm thinking about buying Photoshop Elements. Any thoughts?

Hi there! Welcome to my PTR! So, you are doing the 21st? I'm strongly leaning towards that at this point. What are your trip dates? Are you staying onsite?

I know, I'm thinking to be late would be a waste. Although if we did the party on our first day - it wouldn't technically be our first day. We are arriving the night before. So we should be well rested. But even so, I'm thinking the Tuesday party is looking like the smarter way to go.
