Ok, I'm back in the game. Been busy for a while.

We're talking about underwear now...?

I would love to be a TA. Not just a Disney one. I love travels of all kinds. Helping my family and friends with their travel plans, no matter where they are going, lets me live vicariously through them. When I look up destinations they can go, I feel like I'll be going too!

Maybe I should do what Jordy and Winkers and co. do and make a flat-Yuki for my friends to bring on the trips I helped them plan?

Well, you know how the last thing you typed in stays in the Google search bar if you haven't closed the browser? Well, my dad came over a little later and got on my computer to look something up. He's like, "Why in the world are you looking up lacy underalls?"

That's hilarious!!! People like you and me could never get into real trouble because we get caught at the slightest infractions. I'm sure if you explained too much you'd get even more raised eyebrows -- "I'm corresponding with some guy on the internet and.....now I'm looking up 'lacy underall'".

Chapter 24. Fortune Cookies

So you all know I've been pondering a decision for a few weeks. I've been doing a lot of research and getting more and more excited about the prospect. This past weekend I realized I had enough info to make a decision and I needed to.... 'spit' or get off the pot!

Saturday night we ordered in Chinese food with a group of friends. I stuffed myself silly on egg rolls and Kung Pao, but no Chinese meal is complete without fortune cookies (except in China, where they don't eat them!) So I looked for the cookies that should have come with my meal. Hmmm, where are they? I began to whine like a baby that I didn't get any fortune cookies, and a couple sweet (or more likely, annoyed) friends offered me theirs. Oh, sweet fortune! I now have two! Which should I open first?

Now let me preface this by saying that I'm not an overly superstitious person. I kind of like to imagine fortune cookies being created lovingly by hand by a silent group of buddhist monks who meditate deeply on each fortune and bless it to the enrichment of the eventual ... uh, eater. But I do realize that they are actually made in big factories on machine assembly lines that crank out thousands of cookies per day - I've seen "How It's Made." But that's not as much fun.

Still, enlightenment can come in many forms. So, I was thinking about my current decision to be made as I opened my first cookie. My fortune read, "You have an active mind and a keen imagination. Apply your ideas." Wow, I thought. That's awfully encouraging! I ate my first cookie while I thought on the meaning of those words.

I still had another cookie in front of me. No one else wanted it (I half-heartedly offered it around). They're so small, they can't have too many calories. I decided there was no harm in having another, unless of course, the fortune it revealed contradicted the first! So I opened it. "Now is the time to try something new." What? Really? Did it just say that? I think that is the most clear fortune I've ever read! If that's not a sign, I don't know what is. So I quietly slipped the fortunes into my pocket and started to feel pretty good about my future prospects.

Fastforward to Sunday morning. We were thinking about skipping church. Scott had gotten home really late the night before from an out-of-town gig. But something in me (God, maybe?) said, "No, you should go. If you feel tired, you need refreshment. Go and get it."

Well, of course, He was right. We did leave refreshed. And convicted. What was the message about? How Christ's followers are risk takers. How we need to step out of our comfort zone. Well, what more encouragement did I need? Of course, it was more about stepping out of your comfort zone to serve the least of His followers as you would Him, but I usually find that I can take a good Message and expand it to apply to all areas of my life. So, my decision was made. I would go for it!

This week I have been talking to different agencies, and finally deciding the best fit for me. I signed all the paperwork and officially became a TA on Wednesday, my birthday (I thought that was pretty cool!) I can't mention the name of the agency, because the Dis will bleep it out. But, I'm very happy with my choice. I started the College of Disney Knowledge this morning!

Anywho, that's my little life update in a nutshell. I hope to have a real TRIP related update soon!

That is awesome!!!! Hooray for becoming a TA!!!! I've also been asking for info from quite a few different agencies. I've only heard back from one and it doesn't look like I'll be working there anytime soon (I don't meet certain requirements). I'd love to hear more about it via PM (no pressure).
