I've never gotten an AP newsletter. I get other email from them but never a newsletter.

damo, i had that problem for the first year and a half i was ap holder.

i had to update my profile twice with them.

i should take back what i said, i received the newsletters for the hollywood uo from the begining and never the orlando ones.

what i did was start from scratch on the ap website.
i entered the info again and submitted it.
then i started to receive the info.

sometimes i receive the blurbs on the specials, when i don't someone usually posts them here.

i used to think it would make a great sticky for the uo forums.

we could post the newsletters for others to see but then on the other hand, it might confuse those that do not have the ap and assume they can use the same codes for what we ap holders receive.

on the other hand, when we find out a poster has received the ap newsletter or the regular universal newsletter, we could pm that person and ask if they could share.

in may, i sent out copies to 6 people that did not get theirs. they sent me a pm and i helped them out.

I had never received any APH newsletters before I updated everything a couple of months ago. And I have been an AP holder for 5 years, I still have my original plastic AP that I have always just renewed, lol. I think they had me down as living outside of the country or something like that (sorry, I just don't remember exactly what was up, but there was something off in my profile).

Just curious....which type of AP's do you purchase? I noticed 3 different types on the Universal website.

Do all three type give you the discount option?

also, do each person in the party need one to get the discounts? Or can just one person have one to make the reservations?

The deluxe one is the one that gives you discount on select merchandise stores, and rooms. The one up from that gives you parking as well.

The power one does not give you any discounts.

You only need 1 person to have one to get the discounts.

You are a little off on your information about the APs. Here is a link so that you can compare

http://www.universalorlando.com/annualpass/index.php.html then click on the "find the perfect pass" button. It will bring up a chart.

I wouldn't really call those prices "news."
We got those rates at HRH last Jan and Sept (obstructed view), the PBH price last Nov. and the RPR price this coming Labor Day weekend. Of course it's a bit higher for Fri/Sat nites. Sun-Thurs is lowest price.

It will be nice to get the 2 free movie tix but most of the coupons are what AAA members already get.

That is kind of rude, don't you think? You really think there is such a thing as posting too much information?? :lmao:

Please keep in mind that The rates change every year. Heck, I paid $224 a night for the HRH club with an APH discount. Of course this was in 2004.... lol.

Anyway, I just looked up the super savers rates at the HRH, (Aug 13-Aug 16) and the prices start at $269/night. So there! :p

come on, disneyfreakk is a really nice and helpful homie.
she is very generous and sharing the info she received about the cheaper rates for some dates coming up. when some homies get info from the newsletters, they never share it but disneyfreakk always does. she is bringing up info that starts this month.

ruadisneyfan2 when you phrase your thoughts the way you did, you aren't sounding like the sweet person you really are. i know you are a good homie, i read a lot of your posts. you know a lot about the discounts and time periods but some of us really don't remember them all.
heck, mr mac had to tell me today was saturday. i was wondering why he didn't go to work today...

sorry, I'm really not trying to sound that way.:guilty: :flower3: I guess some things are easier to explain when speaking, not writing. I better start proof reading a little more often.
When I say it isn't news, I don't direct that at you personally, that you shouldn't be posting it. The boards are all about sharing info. :thumbsup2 I direct it at USO, that they send these prices out in their newsletter as if it's something new. I'm just stating that some of these low prices have been already been available during off peak times over the past 12 mos.
Maybe the news is that the cheaper pricing is now available at the busier times now too, I don't know. :confused3
As for the coupon booklet, it was a big disappointment, as a AAA member. jmho.
Non-AAA members would def. appreciate it more.:goodvibes

no problem.

I understand what you are saying. But the way I look at it, we will always have newbies who aren't aware of all of the discounts. I remember when I first joined, I was really over whelmed at all of the information. Sometimes people don't know where to start, or what questions to ask.

Heck, I have been here for years and I still learn new things because someone will mention something about this or that. For example, on a thread with questions about how to book a cabana, Mac mentioned that you can get a APH discount on a cabana! I had no idea about the APH discount on cabanas, and we have rented 1-4 cabanas each vacation for the last 5 years! :headache:

Did anyone book this stay and get the $150 coupon book? If so what exactly is in it.

thanks!

in a thread of last month or june, the coupons were listed in it.

they were about the same ones uo has given out for the past few years.

i could dig back for that thread when i get a bit more time on my hands.

if you could, just do a search on the pages that follow the main page on this thread.

I remember AlexandNessa making a long post with everything listed. I remember thinking it must have taken her a long time to type it all.
She is so thorough!

These rates are certainly good deals. It kind of reminds me of the days when the Hard Rock first opened and getting $99 per night didn't seem like a problem.

Thanks for posting the info! :)
