We're Canadian, and have visited Disney World at least once a year for 34 years (AP holders). However, for the first time, we're planning to go on a Disney cruise.
Here's my stupid question:
When I search the web pages, there are firms which have far, far lower prices for the cruise than is quoted on the official Disney pages. Should I consider them, or is there a reason for paying the full price that Disney charges.
Please help, and thanks.

The prices on the DCL site include transfers and insurance until you remove these amounts. Essentially, unless you get a group rate , FL res rate, military rate, etc. OR have a TA who is holding cabins bought at the tier 1 level, all DCL cruises are the same price (same cabin, dates, category). It's a matter of what is included.

In addition, some web sites don't list the price with ALL taxes, government fees, etc.

Like kcashner mentioned- make sure you're comparing apples to apples- meaning that all the port charges/fees and taxes are included.
But yes, there are some TA's that offer a lower price- because like kcashner mentioned- they book rooms at tier 1 pricing (meaning the lowest price possible usually the day the dates become available) and then that means later if they still have some of those rooms available for you to purchase/reserve- it's at a lower price that DCL now shows on their website for the same rooms. I use a TA that always has a lower price than DCL does and/or they book (or transfer onboard booking dates I already have) the day the dates come out to get the lowest prices for us.

In general the answer is yes- some TA's may have a lower price than what DCL is now showing for the same categories that are open for booking- because they may have booked those rooms to hold themselves when the prices were lower- as time passes and the rooms get booked DCL raises the prices. But just make sure that you're comparing both prices with taxes/port fees included. Also some TA's will offer onboard credit for booking with them which can make the total cost of the cruise even lower by booking with a TA. :)
