If any of you have visited right after Thanksgiving, could you please advise me on type of clothing needed? I'm used to going at the end of the summer when it's still very hot and I'm not sure how much in the way of warmer clothes I will need this year for our Christmas trip. Also we're hoping to swim;will this be possible? :beach: Thanks.

You should be prepared for anything. I would be safe and bring a couple pairs of shorts plus a couple pairs of pants and 1 fairly warm coat. It is normally still not too cold in FL then but you never know. We were there the first week of Dec 2010 and froze our bums off. We live in CO and it was warmer here than there. They had a freak cold snap the whole week we were there. Everyone was in pants, heavy coats, gloves and hats. WDW sold tons of sweatshirts, gloves and hats that week. It was so cold you couldn't bear to sit down on the curb during the parade at night. I have also been there when it was still in the 70s. We still had a blast and enjoyed the VERY low crowds that week. You could almost walk on every ride.

We were there the week before Thanksgiving last year and it was really warm! We went to MVMCP and we were so hot, it was almost 90 at 10:00pm, with almost 100% humidity! But a few days later, we had sweaters on at night. So, ou really never know. I brought shorts and pants, plus a sweater and we did laundry! :) Have fun!

I've had hot days and chilly days at that time of year. Check the forecast the week before and pack for warm days, cold nights & whatever the forecast predicts.

Have fun!

We've done the week after Thanksgiving twice and we dressed in layers. We wore pants with longsleeve and shortsleeve shirts and a jacket and peeled the layers as day went on and by evening, we were back in jackets. A couple of days were very cold so we bundled up and stayed that way all day.

Thank you so much for your replies. I'll certainly keep a close weather watch on the NOAA site a week or two before we go. I can see that the best advice is to pack a 'little bit of everything'!!! :rotfl: I guess that it doesn't look too good for swimming, but I'm going completely prepared for that also and hope to get at least one or two swims in. That would be so nice to be able to swim at a time of year that is really Winter time where we live. The pool will be a treat even if we just lounge and sun bathe. Whatever weather we get, I know it will be a great trip with all of the decorations and MVMCP. Thanks again.

Swimming totally doable. The pools are heated. First couple of weeks in Nov. are our typical times to travel and we have always swam.

We went 2010 Thanksgiving and it was a bit chilly to swim but shorts during the day - folks are spot on you have to be ready for hot to chilly.

great time - I'm going this T-day as well.
