Jeff, that was amazing you in the top 10 of the tri! I'm loving it! Seems like it was a fun event. Like the pic you posted.

hi all! Missed you while I was gone. Can't eblieve I didn't think to tally miles at WDW. :confused3 I do know that DH and I circled WS about 3 times one day. :scared1: And we thought our trip was fairly relaxed for us. :rotfl:

Sadly, I am on the DL untill at elast Thursday. My piri formis/hammy/hip did not like my last 2 race courses or the wakling I did at WDW and something i must have done when I got back. Hoping ice adn a massage Thjursday willget me back in aciton. Ugh.

Hope everyone else is doing better with training!

That guy in the middle ahd a much better costume. :rotfl:

Marcia - Do we have to send a drill sargeant your way?! ;)

Kate - Yay for the paper. Hope those shins get better soon!

Jeff - So sorry about the reduced hours. Trust me, we fell the same pain in MI.

Ugh, I know I had more, but my brain gave out. :sad2:

Jim you did fantastically!!! WHoo for you

Carrie it's so good to see you. Good luck with the massage- really hope it hits the spot. Did you have an amazing time?

Me so i ran 9miles on TM, aerobic fitness is climbing up and the ache is ignorable so we'll see what physio says. Did another 3.1 miles this morning before heading to work, again TM so need to get back out on the road. Can't wait for Bonfire Night and fireworks on saturday..... nothing takes me back to Disney as fireworks do :)

Keep it up everyone

Kate - Glad you are feeling better. Please be careful, though. ToT was ok. Just oo late fr ome and even what we call a casual day at WDW i stoo much pre-race for me. Still took 5 min off from 3 years ago and was happy with my race. The vacation itself was amazing! Had one of our best trips ever. Sadly, reality hit hard when we got home. One of our kitties had died. He was getting older, but we never suspected he was getitng that old. Very, very sad. Our other kitty has not taken it well either. getitng a bit better every day, but not the homeocming we wanted, that's for sure.

Carrie: Sorry to hear about the Kittie passing. Our pets really do become part of our lives.

Tracy

I posted Oct miles on the Oct page but wanted to make sure they made it to the list.

119 miles

Ken! Hey:yay:

I got your time and miles! Thanks so much for posting!! How is the Goofy Training coming along?

-Tracy

carrie so sorry to hear about ur kitty- totally understand how your feeling, but i imagine he's had an awesome life with you.

lily do you have the batteries now? do you, do you? that's a good sign that you're loving the wii!

Ken lovely to see you with some fantastic mileage too! Keep it up and pop in when you can.

Me ummm not sure my run/walk deserves a post today- 4.5miles. Found my way to the racecourse and ran round that, but so out of breath and I don't know how many times i turned my ankle. On the up side, luck has to change soon right!?!? Oh I'm looking forward to a flu free winter- got seasonal and swine flu vaccines as frontline NHS staff we're encouraged (blackmailed!) into having it! Can officially say it didn't hurt which was nice :)

Hopefully i'll be popping in on sat to post a fantastic run :lmao:

Happy Thursday Warriors!!!

It's FINALLY beginning to cool off (somewhat) in NE Florida, but along with the cooler temps (by cooler I mean the low - mid 70's) we have been getting a lot of strong winds.

Workout time has been somewhat pinched by the "Real World" (& College Football....... Hey, priorities. ok? ). I got in a 4.7 mile run down in Celebration on the 2nd. I WAS going to run yesterday, but got the assignment of painting my DD's bedroom instead, so I was not able to go.

But TODAY I made up for it. Biked 51 1/4 miles this morning (in the aforementioned winds) and (with a 3 hour break) ran 5 3/4 miles this afternoon. Total of 56.9 miles in 4+02 total. And. My. Legs. Are. A. Bit. Tired.

That's it so far kids. You guys all rock!

Jim, wow! That is some mileage! Way to go man!

Carrie, hope the massage works today.

Kate, glad you are feeling ok after taking the steps. Here's hoping that the weekend mileage is good.

Ken, good to see you pop in. Hope all is well.

I have gotten the batteries for the Wii! LOL! OMG, what a silly thing. For those of you who have me on FB, I've explained my mistake there. (Low battery message and I thought it was remote. Turns out it was for the board.) Doh! I spent all kinds of time charging those -motes and searching for a solution as to why I kept getting the message. Well, that was yesterday. Today I woke up, and I magically realized the error of my ways. Egad!

Got some steps in, some other stuff too. Getting moving. 14 miler for the weekend. Dreading it.

Hey Warriors, welcome to November.

Carrie, sorry for the loss of your kitty. Rough week, as our oldest dog went to heaven as well. I guess they're chasing each other at the Rainbow Bridge.

Glad to see everyone keeping up their miles and workouts. Doing my usual 36 miles a week, and about to start tapering soon. Turkey Trott 10 miler on Thanksgiving, and then Honolulu Marthon December 13th.

Waiting to hear if Marcia is going to make it out or not. She's debating. Will be meeting up with Tracy & Chester, who will be fresh off the Las Vegas Marathon the weekend before. Also will be seeing Annie, a fellow ROTE member here for our race.

Have a great weekend everyone. I'll be working on shower repairs with Guru Les. Ripping out the tile, new drywall, re-lining, and then re-tiling and grouting. Never a dull moment being a home owner, is it?

Hello Warriors!!

After work I headed to the park by my house to do my miles-4.20 and was great! The temp was 78!! FInally here is South Florida it cooled off just a bit!
I am not able to go to my favorite "dump" after work as the park doesn't have lights and with the time change they close at 6pm. UGH!! Oh well.

Waking up this morning to 70 degrees!! Whoo hoo!!:cool1:

Jim: Nice work there and glad youare getting some cooler weather up there in North Florida!

Have a great weekend Warriors!!

-Tracy

Tracy - 31 here. Ugh. But I do better runnign in 31 degrees than 70. Pitiful, I know.

Jeff - Yes, I saw your post on your dog on FB, right after I posted about my kitty. I think i posted a comment, btu I know I didnt' have many wordsleft at that point. ((hugs)) Thanks for the smile, though. The thought of your dog chasing my cat was funny. I'm sure my cat is sprawled out somewher, getting very tired jsut wathicng your dog run around. Hoping the 20 YO cat I grew up with is laying right beside him. I hope you are comforted that your dog is not sufferign any more and is runnign and playing. BTW, very cool tha tyou will see Chester adn Tracy adn maybe Marcia too!

Had my massgae last night. SOre today, but the berve painis gone. Plus, the therapist seemed very innto Disney racing and is thinking about the Princess. :goodvibes

Have a great weekend Warriors!

Hi everyone!

I've been terrible with catching up on posts the last couple weeks! At least I'm still getting the miles in, though. I ran a Halloween 10K last Saturday and took the prize for the fastest woman in costume.... I was the only woman in costume, but shhhhh. :rotfl2: It was a brutal course that involved 4 loops around a park, and a steep uphill on wet grass. Ugh. I then got in my longest run to date, 15 miles, on Sunday.

As for this week, I took Tuesday off because I had a really early doctor's appointment, and then did my 4 miles yesterday indoors on a treadmill, as it was really storming.

I've been having some arch pain and suspected that my shoes were dying (they're now just past 300 miles, and Nikes seldom last much past that), so I went to REI to pick up a new pair of my Nike Air Max Moto's today. Thankfully, I tried them on first, because they changed the style in the switch from version 6 to 7 and they no longer will work for me. My arch on my left foot is slightly farther back and so I can have problems (ie. dislocated bones in the bottom of my foot!) if the heel support interferes with my arch. The really great sales guy at REI actually pulled EVERY pair of neutral running shoes in my size for me to try on.... I went with another pair of Nikes, the Pegasus 26. I'm not a huge Nike fan, but I have gotten used to the narrow heel and the "bouncy" feeling in them (the reason, I suspect, that they only last 300 miles) so they felt the most like "my" running shoes. We'll see how it goes; I'm not really happy with the change, but I don't really have much choice right now.

Carrie and Jeff: Sorry to hear about the loss of your pets. It's so hard when an animal that you have had for so long passes away, but it is comforting to know that they are in a better place. The 15 year old dog that I grew up with died in March, and it was really tough to let him go, but at the same time almost a relief; he had been dealing with cancer and severe arthritis for several years, and it's so nice to know that he's not in pain anymore.

I'm off to bed; hope to get an early start on my run tomorrow!

Hey Warriors!

Long time, no see!:rolleyes1 I just have got to MAKE the time to get back here more often!

Tracy - Oct totals: 89.25 mi / 19:43:02

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I have my longest run/walk ever scheduled for Sun...18 miles:scared1:

Happy Saturday Warriors!!

I did some 800 meter interval training today. Boy is that hard!!!! Total mileage for the day was 6.05 in 57 minutes.

Hey everyone-

Carrie so pleased the massage hit the spot.

Jeff really sorry about your dog too, it's wonderful that you have such a clear image of him bouncing around tho.

Jim i would love to see anyone who thought intervals full stop were easy-never mind 800m ones!!!!

Sarah eek very good job you tried the shoes on. I never actually expect them to change that much from one season to the next. 300 miles isn't a whole lot of time once you hit the mileage you're doing now really is it? I def think it's worth it to avoid dislocated toes tho!!!! that's horrific. Also :rotfl: at the thought of you being the only costumed female. Well done for getting into the spirit!

I had a shocking day on friday following what i think was a reaction to having swine and seasonal flu vaccines together. A few colleagues were off too, very achey and sick. Although one day of fluish symptoms still beats a whole week of them.
BUT... got up sat feeling ok and armed with ride shot sweeties and headed out to try to prove to myself that i can still run. So got to 2.2 miles and had to take a 30sec walk break...... didn't stop again until 10.06 miles!!!! (oh apart from to cross roads!). Took 1hr 28 so feel ok again now:) VERY tight calf but totally worth it! Went to a fab firework display last night too, mum and I were both singing disney songs to go along with them tho as it was too quiet! Off to visit a friend and her baby in a bit so it's turning into a good weekend :rolleyes1:woohoo:

Jeff, sorry about your dog. I missed your FB post. It is never easy to lose our pets, but knowing your doggie is running around pain free chasing Carrie's cat and playing is good.

Carrie, glad the massage helped.

Tracy, glad you've got better weather to get in those steps now.

Sarah, glad you got in miles but sorry it was on TM. Ugh on your weather. Hope your shoes continue to feel great. Yay for new shoes!

Michelle, great to see you! Good luck today with your miles.

Jim, you are amazing with your w/o schedule. Good job!

Kate, so amazing that you were reactive to the shot, but managed a great run yesterday! Way to go!

I got in my 14 miles yesterday, very back of the pack pace, but I did get it done. I still do not have the distance at pace, but I am continuing on with training. I definitely did not have the rest of the marathon in me yesterday.

I hate to think of January just now.
