November Trip to Disneyland

Thinking about a trip to Disney land in November. We are flexible with dates is there any difference in crowd levels from early Nov to later in the month? Does it get crazy near thanksgiving like Disney World? Are weekdays better if we can just do a Monday to Friday?
lastly high hotel, Grand Californian or Disneyland Hotel?

We like early November - watch for Veterans Day and for when they film the Christmas parade.
I always avoid the weekends, no matter what time of the year.

Holiday time starts November 10, so if you want holiday decor and entertainment go after that (the first weekend will be busy).

I think the GC is hands down better than the DH from what I have heard on the boards. We only stay off site at the BWPPI across the street or others along Harbor Blvd. Just have to fork over more $$$ for GC and DH.
You will have an awesome time no matter which hotel you choose!
