It must be a clash of the seasons with Halloween and Christmas decorations. Or did all the MNSSHP stuff come down overnight and the Christmas stuff went up?
Just got home today from a 4 night trip to the Fort for Halloween. Had a great time (post and pictures on the October thread) and will do it again next year. Now to unpack, wash and clean and repack for our November birthday trip in 10 days. See you all soon!
Just want to say I am excited to get to the fort. With the move and work we have not been camping since our dis meet at GSP. It will be a tad different this time, being in the condo instead of the house. Plan is to rake stuff to the RV this weekend. Next Friday will pile dogs in Rav and head to storage place. The plan is to just drive to Valdosta. Stay at river park. Will have a little longer drive sat but still expect to be in by noon.
Here are a few pics from Wednesday at the Magic Kingdom. Also includes a picture of the Castle lit up for Christmas. The imagineers got it right when they came up with this idea!!
First from the Riverboat.
Today, Teresa and I rode the bike over to the Manatee Viewing Center at Tampa Electric Company. Even though we did not get to see any manatees.......it was a beautiful day to ride and we did see a small sting ray and several tarpon.
There are lots of walking trails and Teresa wanted to explore them all. We walked out to the observation tower. About a 10 mile hike . Well maybe not quite that far but sure seemed like it.
Four days till we head back to the Fort. Not sure I planned too well only having 8 days between trips , but i don't think you can ever have too much Disney or the Fort. . Looking forward to the Food and Wine Fest and having more fun with the Fort's squirrel mofia, lol.
Ed, jets will be there till nov 13. I am hoping to meet him on Saturday when we get in before he leaves Sunday.
We went to the rig today and took all the clothes except my running clothes, still need them for a few days. It will be a great adventure this trip having our first outing since we moved and can't bring the rig home. I think we have a solid plan for Friday when we leave. heading to Disney won't be bad, the issue will be coming home, but don't have to worry about that for a while. We will get back on thanksgiving and then Saturday I will drive out to Montgomery after I get my run in.
We have 4 dinners planned and two lunches. Will probably throw in bf at trails end at least once if not twice. Am hoping to get to the outlet malls one day. Tiggerdad feel bad for Bert. You will be able to empathize.
Work has been so crazy and will continue to be so just looking forward to being off the merry go round for a few days.
Next post probably Friday after we get to Valdosta.
Thanks Ed......it's been a great trip. Yeah a little longer than normal and that's a good and bad thing. As it stands now, Teresa and I will probably skip next year so we decided to add a couple of days and really take advantage of what you have been telling those coming to the Fort for a long time........."enjoy the non park days". Hopefully when we return in 2018, some of the new construction will be completed. Noticed earlier this week that they were taking down one of the tower cranes in Avatar Land at AK. With that being said, we are excited about coming to Gulf Shores next year and meeting you guys and also looking forward to building our next camper. We will probably also take a couple of trips to Gatlinburg.
Tomorrow is our down day which will include lunch at disney springs and some hanging around. We've had some great days. The weather is beautiful. November in Florida just can't be beat. We had a smooth trip in Friday night, no complaints on the magical express. I even took my chances and had the luggage delivered, knowing it could be very late as we didn't get in until after 8. It was delivered a little before 11, right as we were getting ready to get in bed. We did AK saturday morning/afternoon, dinner at the cabin, MK for a little bit in the evening. It was super crowded. Even the people mover had an extended line. Sunday we went to Epcot for a little food and wine. It wasn't bad when we started but the crowd grew as the day went on. We came back again for dinner and went over to the lodge to site see and do the hidden mickey hunt. Today, we were up bright and early to catch the 730 boat to the 8 am opening. We got through security just as the opening show began. We had lunch at Be our guest at 11 am then headed out of mk as one of our party had to catch the ME back to the airport. We went back to mk to pick up my kids oswald ears she bought and had embroidered. They were getting ready for the Christmas party. Then we took the bus to beach club and walked to epcot to eat at via napoli. Epcot was crazy again. The girls did pick a pearl then we went to ample hills for ice cream on the boardwalk. If you get a chance to go there, it was so good. Then we bussed back from the boardwalk resort to mk and caught the boat to fw. Adventure land 8:20 am.
