November SW airfare Drop

We traditionally go to Disney around Thanksgiving. In May or June I was a basket case b.c my family was going to have to pay $2600 + to fly from NY this year. Some flights were actually more than $3,000! Most advised me to book, that it would never drop for this holiday week. For once, I ignored the advice on this board....and did not rush to book. I waited until late June, and the prices dropped to $1600. Now, in August, the cost would be from $1150-$1450, depending on which flight we picked. I rebooked and now have a credit.

Really, this post is a reminder to myself and others that while there are no guarantees, each year for the last three years SW has indeed dropped its fares over the Summer before Turkey day. The wait and watch approach, however, is not the easiest thing to do!

Thanks. I am biting my nails waiting to book for Nov 5-13. I hope the prices do go down or we will be canceling our trip.

I was ready to book my flights home on Friday just as my dryer went at home. I held off purchasing my tickets just in case we needed a new dryer. After spending $35.00 my dryer is fixed. I went online Tuesday night after it was fixed to see that flights went up. I am kicking myself right now. I know airlines are starting to run specials for the fall so here is hoping and a little pixie dust.
