November or December?

I'm heading back to Disneyland (solo this time) for a long weekend birthday trip. Originally I had planned to go December 8-11, which is a Thursday through Sunday, but it sounds like the parks will be fairly crowded during this time.

Do you think that I'd see lower crowd levels if I went in early to mid November instead? Because of work I don't have the option of going weekdays instead of the weekend, but perhaps November would be less crowded (if I avoid Thanksgiving).

Your thoughts?

You probably want to go for the Holiday season and not the transistion in the beginning of Novemeber. It starts on the 11th. But that is also Veterans Day weekend and one that you may want to avoid.

Even a week earlier in December will help quite a bit.

The weekend earlier is candlelight processional. I'd stick with the weekend you have.

Where can I find the special events calendar for DL parks? I only see park hours, etc., posted through November on the DL page but I might not be looking in the right spot.

We're looking at taking a long weekend trip and I want to make sure that I don't run into anything unexpected, since we won't have an abundance of time there.

(When do they film the Christmas parade with the performances that end up televised? Not sure I'd want to be in that mess!)

They're supposed to be filming the Christmas parade the weekend we're there...November 4-5.

Yeah, I'm carefully trying to avoid the Candlelight Processional. Depending on flight prices, I think that I may go in November. (But that's probably just because I'm super anxious to go, not necessarily about crowd levels.) :)
