Well, I'm staring this up for the month because I blew it at the last second and missed October by a day!

Aiming for 20 No Buy Days

1-No Buy #1--staring the month off right!!
2-Spend--had to run out for feminine protection (oops!)
3-No Buy #2--calling it early but I am determined not to spend any money today so if I put it here, I am committed!!
4-No Buy #3--DH gone from 7 am to 9 pm with the car so I had no chance to spend!
5-Spend--groceries and gasoline for the week
6-Spend--DH likes to add things he DESPERATELY needs, the day after shopping day so back to the store for me and I took him to lunch too since he's so sexy

Doing fairly well...half the month gone and just shy of the half way mark for my goal. As long as I get past 15, I'm going to be happy.

I don't think I can do a whole month, but I am trying to do my first ever intentional no spend week (besides a prescription I needed to pick up since I ran out and an oil change I was due for which I feel like shouldn't count). I'm on day 3. It is getting easier. I just got word my new job is starting a month later than anticipated, while we are taking a decent pay cut already since my husband is deployed and makes less when away. Christmas is coming. It is time to start saving in high gear. If this goes well, maybe I can up it to every other week! It is just so hard not to get bored. I am trying to focus on things I have been putting off doing at home to keep busy. There isn't much to do for free in this small town so I need to keep occupied! Tonight I had my (pre paid) dance class, tomorrow visiting a friend's horse. I hope I can do this. I think the eating in is the hardest! I would have liked to have not had the medication and oil change expenses, but this was a no buy week I decided to do rather suddenly so there was no time to plan ahead.

Any tips for someone living alone by no family and with a lot of free time are appreciated

Updating.....

11/11 NOT a no-buy.... in the middle of our Mother/Son day, DS had to attend a practice for the FLL robotics team he coaches, so I killed time at a couple of thrift stores.
11/12 Worked and then attended DS's robotics team meeting..... NO BUY #9
11/13 Worked and then home.... NO BUY #10
11/14 DS's robotics team off-season meet out of town.... had breakfast at home, packed lunches..... but DS requested a pizza for dinner, so NOT a no buy.
11/15 Home doing yardwork and housework.......NO BUY #11
11/16 Not called to work... stayed home and cleaned and cooked.... NO BUY #12
11/17 Worked both jobs..... NO BUY #13
11/18 Worked and then home to bake for robotics team fundraiser..... NO BUY #14
11/19 Work and then manning the bake sale table.... NO BUY #15
11/20 ditto to above... but bought DS a ticket to the school play and bought something through a FB yard sale meet, plus had to buy a case of water to donate to the bake sale. Not a no buy.
11/21 Home alone today but gave DS $20 to buy his lunch while he attends an FLL competition. NOT a no buy.

I think my goal for the month was 15 NO BUY days, so I've hit my goal.... but I'll keep chugging along!.............P
