Well, we are doing it. And your mean comment makes me want to do it more, so thanks for the challenge.
Accepted.

Nov 1 - $18.09 Target
Haircut and color $84.00
Stop at grocery store $3.39
Nov 2 - $18.81 - flowers DD
Nov 3 - No Buy (1/18)
Nov 4 - No Buy (2/18)

Way to be a ****. I thought this thread was supposed to be about encouraging each other, not placing bets that we can't go without spending money.

Encouraging each other is exactly what this thread is about....they're not from around here.

It was a joke, but come on? A spending less post on a Disneyland page? i have to LOLOLOLOLOOLL.
I think it's more about helping you be more aware of spending, not just spending less.

November 1- no buy (1)
November 2- $7 lunch, $800 flights for December trip. The trip is now paid for!
November 3- no buy (2)
November 4- $50 dinner with the family

11/4 - no buy #2 for me!

This thread is good - it makes me think twice before buying things I don't actually need. I have a feeling I won't earn any no-buys this weekend - planning to pick up a few things tomorrow and we're doing DL on Sunday, but I'll try to keep things in check (and get back to no-buy days on Monday!)

I think you may have chosen the wrong thread. You should have better luck finding the fun (?) you seek on a thread with more, uhm, volatile posters.

Sorry I'm so late-computer issues.

I had 10 no spend days in October so I'll shoot for 11 this month.

November 1-$28.32 on gas, $7.41 on a large salad to have at Dad's.
November 2-$1.07 on a 2l Diet Coke ditto.
November 3-$0
November 4-$149.59 at Sam's Club, $35.00 on dinner out.

I spent Tuesday-Thursday at my father's going through things. My father has moved into a nearby assisted living but is still spending most of his days at "home". We're slowly sorting through 50+ years of stuff.

Yesterday was pricey but we really needed to stock up on cleaning supplies, paper goods, etc. I also bought 5 pounds of 90% lean ground beef and an enormous 15# bag of freakishly large potatoes. Our small business paid for the TP and paper towels-we split the packages between the business and the house.

Dinner out wasn't planned, oops! DH had an appointment at the Apple Store-both his laptop and phone had major issues. The couldn't fix the phone right away and told us to return in a couple of hours. We ended up using a $10 off $35 coupon at BJ's Brewhouse next door to Apple.

DH went to a tailgate and contributed beer. I was on my own (Our houseguest went to a game viewing party.) and celebrated with fried food :sad2:

Hmmm this looks interesting, I think I'll just keep track and see and not make predictions. I'll just use this post and come back and edit for each of the days. I'm not going to include things I have to do like paying bills, buying gas, and paying for prescription (this is possibly the first of the new policy that mine are no longer covered by insurance, yet I need them to live).

11/5---splurged on breakfast tacos after checking mail $5.68
11/6---order Mom a shirt online for next Disney trip, also ordered a 64 gb camera card and some of those rfid card protecting sleeves for same trip.
11/7---$10 copay on Rx after issues with pharmacy and switching to a new one! Now have to switch again), and 234.84 upgrade to dining plan for Disney
11/8---no buy day #1!!!
11/9---no buy day #2!!
11/10---package of tortillas for supper $2.68
11/11---no buy day #3
11/12---calling this one early...bday weekend....
11/13---actual bday, did some shopping
11/14---no buy
11/15---contest day, then traveled to judge elsewhere and bought dinner at Chuys
11/16---judging, will have Zios on my home

I need this badly this month. We would very much like to get through the holidays debt free and we have a very large raise/promotion coming this month and we want to use it to power through paying off our cards, paying off debt, paying my car off and raising half the money to buy something new for my husband. My biggest hurdle is I love shopping, so I'm trying super hard this month and hoping to make it into a habit. The sooner we can get these things done, the sooner I can book another Disney trip (ah yup there is the kicker :D )

I do not count our monthly bills, groceries, gas or topping up my kid's lunch accounts. I do count meals out, coffees while out, and any spending that is not needed.

November 1 - No spend day #1: Gas, credit card payments, groceries and a purchase for the play my daughter is in that was reimbursed 100%
November 2 - No spend day #2: Topped up kid's lunch accounts for 2 weeks
November 3 - No spend day #3: Car payment
November 4 - Rental insurance & hulu; video store for the girls sleepover and Subway for all of us for dinner.
November 5 - No spend day #4: A few groceries that didn't make it to the list
November 6 - No spend day #5: Absolutely nothing

My goal this month ::gulp:: is 25 no spend days. That leaves me only 5 days this month to buy non essentials and gifts.

Nov 1 - $18.09 Target
Haircut and color $84.00
Stop at grocery store $3.39
Nov 2 - $18.81 - flowers DD
Nov 3 - No Buy (1/18)
Nov 4 - No Buy (2/18)
Nov 5 - regular errands, groceries, picked up a few things for holiday gifts
November 6 - picked up a shelving unit, doing some organizing

Had such a good weekend. Really wanted to buy a bed for the guest room, but didn't want to spend the $$. We have out of town guests several times a year and we move DD out of her room for this, but it's a pain. My mom has asthma so every time she comes out we super clean DD room. Teenagers use a lot of smelly stuff.
So I received an email this week. We apparently had purchased a fabric protection plan five years ago when we bought our couch and because we never used it they refund the money. Enough for a queen mattress set and metal frame. DH is using leftover hardwood flooring to build a rustic headboard and I had a gift card to BBB to buy bedding. End result, a guest room for free! Frugal win. Once it's all put together I'll post a photo.

This week should be full of No Buy days!
Working on my Christmas gift list too!

Your goal is a really tough one. Good luck and do the best you can. If you really need 25 No Buy days then you can do it.

1- Post office, $4.45. This was a stupid tax for me on purchasing the wrong item and needing to send it back.
2- Getting a haircut tonight. A little costly, but I only get my haircut about twice a year so I feel the cost is justified.
3- No buy
4- Caved and bought HBO for the month. Darn you, Westworld... so good.
5- No buy
6- Treated my brother to lunch (he paid a very big bill for me recently without me knowing until it was done and refused to let me pay him back) and bought Starbucks.

Aiming for 10 no-buy days

11/1: $110 on after-Halloween sales (everything was minimum 75% off, so we stock up on treat bags/new decorations/costumes)
11/2: $50 on lunch for my department, it was my turn to buy for everyone.
11/3: No buy! (1/10)
11/4: $130 on a new Dooney & Bourke - but I had budgeted $250 into my savings for our trip in January to buy one, so this is like $120 in savings :rotfl:
11/5: No buy! (2/10)
11/6: Went for supper with friends, my boyfriend paid for us. I didn't really enjoy the food though, so I did spend $8 at McDonald's on the way home

Not a good start to the month....
11/1 - bills
11/2 - online shopping - did not even think about it. Ugh. Blaming my head cold!
11/3 - McDonald's for dinner (again blaming cold!).
11/4 - no buy #1
11/5 - house stuffs, lunch out
11/6 - new couch (badly needed!!)
11/7 - cleaning supplies, Christmas shopping

Joining a bit late. . .

I'm going to start on the 7th and aim for 10 no buy days. I don't count bills, eating out twice a week with the husband, groceries or gas. Everything else is fair game.

11/07 - $28 at thrift store, hiking clothes, sweaters and 3 Fiestaware plates at .69 each. :)

Have to go to SuperTarget for Rhodes frozen bread and my flu shot today. Praying for strength not to make any discretionary purchases. . .

Today was a close one. DD tried to talk me into eating out today. No way. Leftover pot roast at home. Meal plan for the win.
