November isn't supposed to be BUSY??

I posted this last night but too late . It was sent down the list. I am concerned about my first visit to DIS. w/ my daughters . I am hearing something about soaps week at mgm and New Jersey schools flocking to the area. Tell me this isn't true.( Staying at Polynesian Nov 8-12 )

NJ week ends the weekend you arrive, so no big problem there. Soaps weekend is at the start of your stay, but really not a big deal. Just don't go to MGM those days. Otherwise, you shouldn't encounter any major crowds.

Yup, tis true. Lately, (at least for the past 5 years) the second week in November has been very, very busy, with sold out rooms. The Food and Wine Festival is going on at Epcot, it's also the "soap" weekend at MGM, and it's a week off for schools in Jersey. There are other events going on also at that time at Disney, so it makes for a very packed place--but not necessarily in the parks--unless you go to MGM during the soaps weekend. Since you already have your reservations, I wouldn't worry. You may run into problems trying to get priority seatings, etc. Just go with a positive attitude, and you'll be fine.

Don't hesitate to go into your favorite restuarant and ask if they have room for the 3 of you. The worst they can say is no. My family (myself, DH, DS-7,DS-3) usually travels to WDW last minute. Therefore we don't get our PS ressie's in time. Generally we'll go to our restuarant of choice right when they open for lunch or dinner to see if they can fit us in. 9 times out of 10 they can. I will say this worked fine for Cinderella's Castle lunch, we weren't brave enough to try for breakfast.

Another thing, don't worry about the crowds too much. Just avoid the parks with the soaps. Read through these boards and get tips about touring the parks, write them down or copy to Word. Fastpass is AWESOME! Use it. Also, take time to enjoy your resort. Everyone raves about Poly. Check it out on the Resorts board. Go check out Ft. Wilderness. They have a campfire and movie every night. Don't feel like you have to cram it all into one vacation. Leave things to do and see next time.
