Yep, I thought it was only me too! I have about a week's hiatus before I'll start packing (don't want crap all over the place - busy week ahead) so I don't know what to do with myself. I've spent it worrying that one of us will get sick, that something will happen to the car, etc. I've been drinking more to chill me the F out.

and I always get so ambivalent before I leave on vacation. Does anyone else get that way? I have been planning this trip for almost a year and I hate that.

YES!! After all the planning and anticipation, you would think I'd be absoultely giddy by it only being a couple weeks away, but I'm not. It's almost the complete opposite. Probably because I know it's going to be over. I thought I was the only one who felt this way.

I gotta say I definitely get a type of malaise the final weeks -- for me, it's from knowing there is just soooo much to get ready that I don't have time to get excited.

Yep, I'll be extending my annual solo visit to WDW during the second week of November. Always stay at the French Quarter, and always enjoy a week at the World. Don't know how many more years I can keep this string of visits going; I'm 76 now, but still enjoy myself every visit, and hope to make many more such trips in the future. "Calling Mr. Morrow ..."

My grandmother is 76. She was supposed to go with us this trip, and she backed out and said that she's too old. I thought she would want a vacation, because we lost Papaw last August. She said that she would go with us if we went next year. So after we get back, I get to plan another trip, just so I can take her!!!

We are going down from 11/5 to 11/11. Coming from Massachusetts where it snowed yesterday (Oct. 18th) so we know the weather has to be warmer!!!! Going to be staying at CBR for the 4th time. Hoping to get down there next summer for my 40th birthday!!! I am shooting for Poly but will probably have to settle for POFQ. Hoping the crowds will be tolerable since I have two boys (4 and 2) and waiting in line can be tough!!
I can't wait!!!

We'll be there Nov. 2-10! Up here in NH, they were HUGE balls of snow falling, not just flakes .. I can not WAIT for Florida! Less than two weeks for us and praying that no one gets sick!

I got my shirts I ordered from the Disney Store. They are so cute!!!

I just spent 30 minutes actually packing my suitcase. I got done with 50% of it. One less thing.

I was bored last night, so I went on the ADR online reservation site and played around. I could of made ALL of my ADR's, except Le Cellier, last night. I hope that's a sign that it's going to be low crowds. I know it's not a very good indicator, but here's to hoping!!!

I asked this in the countdown thread..but not sure how many people actually get on there and read those!! We leave 11/1! woohoo... ARe any of you worried about swine flu? It has gotten so it is all anyone is talking about. I am getting my son the vaccination tomorrow since he has severe asthma..It won't be a full two weeks though by the time we leave..


There are five of us and three of us have colds right now..I know I am just going to airborne all of us to death..

It is really putting a damper on my countdown..I was sooo excited about going. I think I picked up that ambivalence also...My kids keep saying "Hey ma guess where we go soon?" ..because I used to go around singing that to them for weeks! And now I don't. This is before me worrying about the Swine Flu..

I'm fearing one of us getting sick ... I just got the flu shot and don't think I can get my DD in to get hers in time for our trip. So I invested in Lysol wipes and hand sanitizer to take with us Hope that's enough!

I'm not. But it is in the back of my head. I always bring sanitizer with me to the parks. And this trip especially, since my niece is going and she's going to be 8 months old, we are going to be ALOT more aware of germs. I am anyways. We've all been sick the last 2 weeks (lingering cold), and I'm going tomorrow to buy some immune booster stuff for us all. 23 days!!!

Did you worry any other year about catching the flu at WDW? If the answer is no then I wouldn't be worried about Swine Flu either. it is just another Flu that the media has dressed up with a fancy name and billed as the next "thing that will kill your family" ...right after the break. Seriously, we have had this strain in the US before and it is no better or worse than any other flu. Fewer people have any immune response built in fro it so more will get sick, but is just a flu.

Thank you for this response. It makes me feel much better. Someone always gets sick while we are there and with this going around, honestly I am a bit worried. We are from MI where there hasn't been an outbreak of it yet ( or maybe there has and nobody has the money to go to the doctor ) So I feel like we are at an increased chance of picking it up down there, but hopefully it's like you say and not like the media reports and we'll be fine, even if we do catch it.

Well I haven't worried about the flu at WDW because I haven't been there in at least 5 years.lol..We also went in June...lol . I would worry if there was an outbreak of the flu and my son wasn't vaccinated though. I think it's easy to say "it's just the flu" when it doesn't cause you severe respiratory distress.

I was just wondering if anyone who is leaving soon has been thinking about this..and if it was just me. Some were talking about feeling ambivalent before..so I was just curious if this is weighing on people's minds like mine.

I do agree there is a lot of hype surrounding it..At least that is what I hope and keep telling myself..or I should say I am trying to convince myself. ....lolol I keep trying to tell myself ..it's ok ..it's no big deal it is just like the seasonal flu..but my son has never had the seasonal flu..but he is likely to get the swine flu. There is a difference there.

It is just weighing on my mind a bit.

I called Disney this afternoon, as to see why I haven't received my travel documents or ME arrival vouchers. They said they send them out sometimes 7-10 days before arrival. That's what the CM said, and he said not to worry about them yet.

I called ME services. I had booked a room only reservation online and gave it all my flight info, and this was back in early Sept. She said the info hadn't kicked over into their system and I had to re-give all the flight info again. They said I should get them in 7-10 days.

So if you did your reservation online and still haven't received your ME vouchers, I would advise you to call them.

Hey, my daughter will be 8 months old when we go, too! This will be her first trip.
