When does hurricane season officially end? I am thinking of surprising my husband in November 2005 with a 4 night Disney Cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We will have a bunch of DVC points banked over to 2005 that we will need to use and I think it would be a nice way to celebrate. Is the weather warm in November?

OH my gosh!!! When did I get tagged by the Tag Fairy??? That last time I looked I didn't have any and now I have a whole list! Who is this Tag Fairy??? :D

Hurricane season technically runs through November, but the worst hurricane months are August-October. There are sometimes late-season storms, but usually you're OK by mid-November. No guarantees, however.

We cruised the four days before Thanksgiving this past November and the weather was sunny and 85 every day. Couldn't beat it. I think the next week was cooler (60s and 70s) and windy, however. November can be kind of hit or miss around Florida and the Bahamas.

Did you have smooth seas? I just called the DVC and got the points totals and I am fairly certain that we will do this, but I'm a little worried about it being rough on the water.

Then I think we will pass on November and take a cruise to celebrate a few months later. Thanks for the info.

I'm booked on the Halloween cruise for 2004. Do you think I'll be okay. I have been to WDW at this time and it's great. Never been on the open sea though.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see. What will they do if a hurricane is forecasted?

I know they will try to stay away from it but would they cancel the whole trip?

Say no please.

No - They will <I>not</I> cancel the sailing unless a hurricane is hitting Port Canaveral on the scheduled day of departure.

We did Halloween 2002 (Oct 26 - Nov 2) and had an absolutely beautiful week. It was the Western itinerary. It was as though someone turned off the faucet! Nothing but smooth sailing.

We've been on 2 Nov. cruises with out 3rd and 4th Nov. cruises scheduled. The weather on the first cruise was absolutely perfect and on the second we had ran for an hour or two on Weds. and then all day on Thurs. (a sea day). I still consider that really great weather. My only complaint was the seas on the 1st for the 1st couple days were rough and almost the entire week Nov. 2003 was rough but I think that is common on the Eastern no matter what time of year you go. November is my favorite time to cruise because it is less crowded and it is still hot but not too hot.
