November/December 2017 How soon to make reservations?

My 65th birthday is in December of 2017 and my family is going to join me at WDW for the celebration. I rent DVC points and will be staying at BWV. My sister and her boyfriend have a motorhome and are considering getting a campsite. How soon do they need to make the reservations?

I would make them now, because if you procrastinate you may have a hard time getting their reservation.

I just booked our 2017 trip last week and all the Premium sites were gone already...

They better book what they want now.

I checked Sun Dec 24 to Sat Dec 30 and there are only Tent sites left. Different date ranges will get different results.

Spring break and the fall holiday times (Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) book up almost a year in advance.

So now is the time to check. Hopefully they are looking earlier in December. Reservations can be made 499 days before arrival.

We have gone a couple times for Late November/Early December (Thanksgiving time frame). My DW books it will in advance of a year because the week of Thanksgiving fills up fast.

We check-in on Thanksgiving day, stay the rest of that week and go until the next Friday. It's a great time to go. The first half is a bit more crowded but it thins out a lot in the second week.

If you cannot get your dates, you may have to try and "Piece" things together. This means you have to get those couple of days that are available (and pay the deposit for each) and check daily (sometimes multiple times a day) both online and by calling a CM to fill the gaps. Then in the end, you can have them merged into one reservation. (so you don't get multiple Magic bands and other reasons).

Happy "Early" birthday. Having a birthday at Disney is cool. I have had 3 there (my Birthday is December 1) and had a blast. Hope you are successful booking your trip.

What's funny, as I was typing the original post (with my Birthday) I was kind of thinking... "Wouldn't it be neat if we had the same Birthday?" and then there it is.

It's the little things, I guess that keep us happy.
