Hi!

We are planning a trip for this fall. :cool1: I'm sure there is a thread here somewhere discussing the crowds in November, but i'm too lazy to search for it. Sooooooo, how are the crowds in November? How 'bout the weather? We are looking at the 1st or 2nd week of the month, not anywhere near Thanksgiving.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

hi we were there last november and the crowd level was light, also the weather was lovely......hot but not unbearable
hth

Jersey Week is the second week of November this year. Nov. 10, 11, and 12, to be exact. So is Super Soap weekend, I think. And Veterens Day (I Think, is that the November holiday? Having a blonde moment!) is also the second week of Nov.

So, knowing that, I'd say that the first week of November should be MUCH less crowded than the second.

We are planning a trip for Oct 29- Nov 4. Hope to avoid most of the crowds that way. The days before Halloween and Halloween itself could be busy, but after then should be pretty nice.

Hmm, maybe the 3rd week of November would be good. I wonder if the week before Thanksgiving week is very crowded. Ooh, I just realized if we wait until the 3rd week, we'd be there on my Birthday! This is starting to sound better & better.

Thanks for all the info. everyone.

When are the Christmas decorations put in place? I've been in early December before & loved seeing all the decorations. Do they wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate?

We were there Nov 6-13th this year, the week after Jersey week and the first half of the week was pretty good crowd wise, but from Thurs on it was packed. That weekend was Super Soap weekend so maybe that's why. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, except for one really rainy day. The Christmas decorations were going up in the resorts while we were there. I bet the week before Thanksgiving would be great!!

This is what I've done for the several past years -- We arrive on Thanksgiving day and have a character meal at Chef Mickeys or 1900 Park Fair. The Xmas decorations are up and Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party and the Candlelight Processional begin after Thanksgiving as well as the Epcot holiday storytellers and Osborne lights. Also the room discounts (in the past) were the best for the entire year. We got Pop Century for $55, and it was well worth it!

We go to the parks starting on Saturday after Thanksgiving because the crowds start to thin out then. This past year we went to DisneyQuest on the Friday after Thanksgiving, and it was very enjoyable. The crowds got heavier after lunch but still tolerable.

Good luck!

We were there from the Sunday after Thanksgiving until the next Saturday. Although everything was busy we encountered no problems whatsoever. I can't remember really waiting for anything for any long length of time. The Christmas season was in full swing!

How has the weather been during that time each year?

We were there the week before Thanksgiving this past year and it was great. It did not start to get busy until the weekend before Thanksgiving.
BUT, it will not be value season this year like it has been in the past. Value season starts Nov 27 this year. In the past i have gone the week after Thanksgiving and it has been GREAT but I think crowds are getting heavier at that time these days. We are planning to go the first week of Dec probably and hope for the best. :cool1:

We have been to WDW in that time frame for many years and the weather has been from one extreme to the other. We have worn shorts and t-shirts and we have worn jackets, hats, and gloves. We try to watch the weather predictions prior to leaving to get an idea of what to pack--but be prepared for anything!

Agree with this. We've also been to WDW several times during the early Nov time period. The weather was anywhere from highs in upper 50's/low 60's during the day to highs of low 80's. There were some nights when it dipped into the low 40's.
As for crowds, generally we've had good luck with minimal to moderate crowds, depending on the day of the week. But this past Nov 2-5 was a total zoo for the most part. We had a good day in the MK on 11/3, where it wasn't too bad---actually could walk-on all three of the "Mountain" rides and the HM. Peter Pan/Pooh had a 45 min wait that day to give an exception. I'd have to say that "Jersey Week" (in combination with F&W) really made a huge impact on the crowds this year. I'd put our day spent in the MK on Thursday, 11/4, on par with summer crowds. It was so bad that we left after about 2 hours and went over to Epcot where things were a bit better. I will say the weather was terrific though----80's during the day and 60's at night. We never got out of shorts.
In '98, we went to WDW the end of Nov---arrived the day after Thanksgiving & stayed for 2 weeks. Crowds were pretty light except for Saturdays. Weather was perfect. But it's just the luck of the draw I think.

I just discovered this forum today, and am enjoying reading all the comments. I was especially glad to read the info about crowds and weather in November, as that is when we are going.
I do have a question: how do you add that countdown timer to your signature?
