We have almost always gone to WDW during Mardi Gras when it didn’t coincide with presidents week and never had terrible crowds. We are going Nov 9 and as fast as resorts open the come up as full! Are crowds really going to be that big? I look at early January and it seems so much better. Any thoughts? Thanks!

November is a popular time for WDW. Jersey week is in early Nov (I don't know the exact dates). It also follows Halloween (which is a popular time to go). Add FWF and Nov tends to be crowded.

We have enjoyed later November. Look to see when "Jersey Week" is. Its usually either the 1st or 2nd week of November. Hit it once by accident, never again. It really is busier (at least in the past).
We have gone over Thanksgiving and it was much less crowded than we expected and enjoyed it.
We loved that time as we saw the end of Halloween and the beginning of the Christmas decorations.

Glad to hear this we are going over Thanksgiving this year. Been in early November before and it was less crowded than October and late March from our experiences.

We'll be there right when Pop Warner hits. Plus, with the lack of hotel availability, yesterday booked Music (was originally hoping for Movies, Pop, Swan/Dolphin). So with F&W, 50th, Pop Warner, being at Music with all of those NJ families (Sports closed until Dec), I'm sure we'll see some crowds. Do feel that our week 11/6-11/12 will be less crowded than Thanksgiving wknd. My opinion. Been there during both times.

I don't know how often I've booked WDW property without some sort of discount, but the way this is playing out with the refurb, delayed openings/availability of resorts, there may not be discounts for our stay. Why would they, when the hotels are booking up for near the 50th. Before yesterday, there were only 3 resorts available for us, AK for around $469, BW and another resort for over $1k/night (+ also Swadolphin). Yesterday AK was under $300, and we felt lucky to grab Music for $161, even though we didn't intend to be there. Later also booked Music on Orbitz for $140 using the one time mobile app code.

I believe Pop Warner is going to Universal now. If that's true, that will make a big difference, IMO. We have gone during Jersey week several times and never noticed bigger crowds. Maybe because we were used to the crowds that time of year. It was no problem for us.

Yes, sorry, I stated Pop Warner but meant Jersey Week. Pop Warner is going to Universal and not until maybe Dec. We generally stay in Value and notice the uptick in early Nov. This is during my wife's bday. We've gone to 3 of the past 5 Thanksgivings, and I'd pick Jersey Week over Thanksgiving, every time if crowds are the predominant factor.
