Help! I've got a stupid question ! I need to order my Entertainment Book to get my Hojo discount and I'll be checking in on Nov. 1st, so it's last minute. I live in Sweden and I'm having it sent to my friend who lives in Cerritos, CA. Now..here's the dumb question..
I will put my name and billing info where that goes. However it's different than the shipping info, so I'll need to put her name so she gets it correct? But will her name then be on the little plastic card? There is a little plastic card right, and if her name is on it then would the Hojo honor that, since Denise's name isn't on the room reservation? Eeeep! I'm sorry I'd call them directly if I lived in the states. Of course I'm a super procrastinator so I have to pay 9:99 dollars extra now because it's so last minute .

Our trip is scheduled for 24-28 November (with two days' driving on either side)

We'll be at the HoJo .

Dining Plans so far are:

25th: Dinner at Storyteller's
26th: Breakfast at Plaza Inn with Minnie and Friends

It's our FIRST DL trip so we're super excited!

Glad you finally got here! A first trip! That is exciting!!! I hope you love every inch of the park! It is a lot of fun doing character meals. There are always characters aplenty at Plaza Inn. I have never been to Storyteller's for dinner but if you ever go for breakfast the banana stuffed french toast is soooooo good!

We are on the Big count down now.

First trip sans child! (Not really a child anymore, he's 18 and the thought of going to Disneyland with mom and dad makes him break out in hives!)

This will be hubby's first time for California Adventure. I wonder what he'll think?

Wow! Another Thanksgiving Day traveler! I hope they don't run out of Thanksgiving Day food thanks to all the Disers who will be there at the same time. So funny about your son! Mine is 19 and hasn't decided not to go with us just yet. I think he would be afraid he might miss something or maybe have to feed himself or something else as equally horrifying. For whatever reason, I'm glad he still likes going with us and hope he holds out awhile longer. Hope your DH enjoys CA. They are certainly working to make sure it gets better all the time!

Your welcome. We've played ours a few times now, but most of our time is being taken up watching Disney Movies that my DD has never seen. The games you got sound so cool!! Did you pick them up new or 2nd hand?

We've been doing the games plus watching movies. My DH has been going along with us real good but he was in a grouchy mood a few days ago and said that he hoped he wasn't all Disney-ed out before we even get there. My son and I both looked at each other and GASPED! We didn't know what to think! How could he even think such a thing????? Anyway we tip-toed around Disney stuff a few days and then he suggested we do some of it again. When we told him we didn't want him to get tired of Disney he acted like we were making too big a deal about it and said he really didn't mean it and for us not to worry about it. Been married to this man for 20 years and don't guess I ever will understand him! So, anyway, we are back on with the games and movies and getting stoked more everyday about the upcoming trip!
I picked up the games on ebay new. Probably cost as much or more as in the park but this way we can play them in advance.... plus the seller was so sweet and threw in a nice little free bonus, a Pirates of the Caribbean spiral notebook that I was able to pass along to my DS.

It's 3 weeks for us. Can't hardly wait.
We did change out hotel and are now staying at Fairfiled Inn.
We have breakfast on DD's bday at Plaza Inn, WOC picnics are ordered, and reservations at BBB for DD.
Question: is BBB really worth it? My DD is a girly girl, but I am still wondering from the hairstyles that I have seen if it's worth it.

Time is sure flying by! I updated your hotel on the list. It's always good to have the reservations made and some plans in order. Can't really say about the BBB as my DD is NOT a very girly girl yet but I would be glad to hear how your visit turns out to be. There are are sure a lot of folks who take their girls there and get them turned into beautiful little princesses.

I took my DD last July, she was 8 and loved it. The Fairy in Training did a great job and made my DD feel like she was the only one in the salon. You get to keep the makeup case they use and the nail polish a hair piece they put in the hair is all done up (not just put it, but styled) the brush they use and some costume jewels. You get a sash and a sinch bag to haul all your loot it. She was there for an hour, aftwards she was complemented on her princess do all over the parks. The way they styled hair left curls in it the next day and she still had a massive amount of pixie dust in her hair so I was able to use the curls to do her hair the next day, people complemented her hair the next day. All in all, I'ld say it was a well spent $50.

Sounds like it would be worth it. That's a lot of Disney goodies and a lot of compliments!

I could not believe a few days ago when my DD told me we had under 20 days! I was like un-uh! I mean how in the world could the time be going by that fast? But then I pulled up my little desktop counter.... sure enough she was right and we are now in the TEENS! 18 days baby!!!! The next couple weeks are going to be scooting!

This week we played our new Pirates Game of Life and Splash Mountain Sorry is on the agenda tonight. We've watched 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Swiss Family Robinson and Winnie the Pooh's Blustery Day. Yesterday I ordered my new checks.... with my custom pictures from Disneyland.
I got a call yesterday from one of my friends. She was calling to tell me she was at the airport and fixing to board the plane for California. The lucky duck is in Disneyland TODAY!

I really need to get with it and print out my travel plans but the procrastinator in me keeps winning. I suppose it's okay as long as she steps aside and lets me get it done before we head out the door! I was thinking that we should all post a photo of ourselves/family so we might recognize each other if we happen to run across any of our fellow peeps while we are in the park. I'll go first! Just thought I should pass this along.

I'm sure most of you know by know about the talking/blinking Mickey at DCA in a show called Disney's Dance Crew, inspired by So You Think You Can Dance and Danceing With the Stars. From what I can tell, it's in the stage area near Monster Inc and Muppets (where Drawn to the Magic used to be).

Also at DCA is starting the 26th of November is the new Disney Channel Rocks show that is taking the place of the High School Musical show. It follows the same path. HSM's last show is the 25th.

We'll be there Nov. 28-Dec. 2. Staying at HoJo's.

Ten years ago after my divorce, my son and I started going the week after Thanksgiving for an "our time" trip. When he hit middle school that stopped. He has not been in two years. I did go last year with good friends, but without my son, and decided not to do that again. We've had a bit of a tough year, and so I decided to pull him out of school for the week. Missed assignments will be gotten beforehand, and if not done at D will be done the weekend we get home. Right now, a dose of the magic and my son's well-being matter more than perfect attendance and possible disapproving teachers. Which is slightly ironic as I teach third grade! We are so excited, we can't stand it! We'll be going with good family friends who also believe in the magic and lots of laughs. We have PS at Cafe Orleans and Carnation Cafe - no Character meals this trip.

Would love to meet some fellow posters. And here's wishing everyone going lots of pixie dust for a great trip.

This time at DL will be so awesome!
Here is my PS schedule, we usually do PS lunches and then figure out dinner based on how we are feeling/crave that day...

Monday 11/1 1p.m. Carnation Cafe

Wednesday 11/3 12:50 p.m. Cafe Orleans
Thursday 11/4 1p.m. Ariels Grotto
Friday 11/5 9:40a.m. Carnation Cafe (tradition to have breakfast here at least once!)

AND I just found out that while my best friend and her bf are there with us (they are meeting us there on wednesday) he is asking her to marry him in front of the castle!!!! I will take tons of pictures! I cant wait to see all of this unfold! Her birthday is the 4th, which is why we are doing Ariels Grotto, that and its my DD's favorite princess!
Have to go start some packing, after all, I only have a few days left and still a full week of working....
