Hello. With all of the renovation at the Polynesian, just wondering if ADRs for Ohana in November are a good idea? Would we get any notice before the restaurant closes for renovations? Thanks.

Im wondering the same. I have wanted to try Kona for Breakfast forever but if they lobby is going to be destroyed and chaotic I can't imagine wanting to this to be our first experience at the resort.

Thanks, I agree. And I don't want to be left with no ADR if they suddenly decide to close. :)

This is a good question. I too am going in Nov and really hope my Ohana and Kona reservations aren't cancelled.

Thanks Tink. I guess we should keep our fingers crossed! I don't have an ADR yet though...just not sure if I should cancel others for it. :)

There are no plans to shut down either restaurant during the construction. The center part of the lobby is simply walled off (on both floors). It's not a pretty sight, but it shouldn't ruin a meal either.

If anyone is canceling for dinner on 11/21 or 11/22, please PM me!!!

I know it won't ruin the actual meal but this would be our first time EVER at the Polynesian; from what I understand it will be a huge mess. I'm on the fence of changing plans.

We have ADR's for dinner and breakfast 11/12 and 11/14. A walled up lobby will not ruin it for us. Having our ADRs cancelled would, as we have never missed these two meals on any of our WDW trips.

We had dinner at Ohana on Saturday night and it seemed very hectic around the resort with all the construction going on.
The food was good and we enjoyed the meal ,but I am rethinking our ADR for November 1st???

We may try the Maya Grill at Coronado and just make our arrival day a relaxing resort day.:goodvibes

We have done Ohana so many times I am thinking we may need a change!!!

The Poly is kind of a mess right now!

Thanks BabieJosie for a review of the current state of construction. That's too bad. Did you hear noise while dining? Will things be more or less hectic in November? One can hope for less hectic! :D

Thanks for posting all of this. We will be staying at CR in October, party of 8, and had res at 'Ohana for breakfast on checkout day. Just switched to 1900 Park Fare to avoid any chaos!

I would book 2 reservations, one for the restaurant you want to eat at the Poly and another 2 hours later a as a backup, so when you get there you can decide, and cancel with the 24 hour notice & not losing out on your $$ for skipping out on the ADR!

Once you are seated it is fine. I don't think they are working on the lobby in the evenings.

If your heart is set on Ohana then I would keep my ADR...The Poly just does not look as pretty.:sad2:
