Hello, everyone.

I haven't been to WDW since I was 16 in 1998. My wife has never been at all. So we are planning sort of a last minute trip to WDW this November with my brother, who also hasn't went since 1998. We are looking forward to the trip, especially since last time we went, Animal Kingdom wasn't even done being built and only had like 1 section open (Needless to say, Dinosaur/Countdown to Extinction got a lot of action from us that day).

Anyway, I was curious about a couple things, and I was hoping someone here could provide some good answers for me:

1> We have decided to book the Caribbean Beach Resort, and have a standard room on hold. What is the best building to ask to be put in if my criteria for best are: A> Relatively close to a bus stop, and B> As close to main pool/area as possible without being in a preferred room.

2> We've decided to hold off on getting the Water Park option with our tickets until we can check the weather. We hear it can be really nice that time of year. However, when we went on a cruise last year out of Canaveral, it was like 55F outside, and I would consider that too cold for a water park. So we wanted to wait and see what we are looking for, before we add the cost on to our tickets. Our TA says that we can do that anytime before we get there, or even once we get there. I assume that is correct. She also says that the water in Blizzard Beach is heated/cooled to 80F. Has anyone had experience doing a water park that time of year? How was it? I realize Typhoon Lagoon will be close that time for renovations, so it's all the Hotel pool and Blizzard Beach for us when we go.

Thanks for any/all information you can give me. These forums have been one of the best resources for my OCD planning over the last couple weeks. Thanks a lot.

Hmmmm, meant to put this in the base Resort forum rather than the Discount Codes forum. Not sure how it ended up there. Don't seem to be able to close or move it. So if someone else has that ability, that'd be great. Otherwise, I guess it's up to the discount people to help out. :cool2:

Hello SaberJ and welcome to the DISBoards!

Martinique and Trinidad North are the preferred buildings at the beautiful Caribbean Beach Resort, so the next closest are probably bldgs 44-45 in Jamaica, or bldgs 51-52 in Aruba. You'll have to walk across the bridge from the Towne Center (restaurant/pool area) but it's really not very far and it's a lovely walk through Caribbean Cay. Bldg 46 at Jamaica is closer to the bus stop.

We did have some unseasonably cold weather last winter, but normally November is still nice for swimming, especially during the day. It cools off at night but you're right, the pools are usually heated just enough to take the chill off. Not sure about the water parks.

I'm sure you'll get more responses soon. We've only stayed at CBR once, in the Martinique area before it became a preferred location, and we loved it. Enjoy your trip! We'll be down there for a week in November, too, staying at Kidani Village with a big family group.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I'll check out the CBR building layout and see which of those seems the best. I'm not sure how specific they want their requests for buildings to be, so I'll try to narrow it down a bit.

Yeah, it was pretty chilly last year. It took two days of sailing south before if had warmed up enough to swim in the pools, and even then they were pretty cold still. But I'm sure just as long as it warms up during those days that the heated pools will make a world of difference. So long as Blizzard Beach is heated as well. Still, I guess I'll hold off until I can see the weather to make sure it's not going to be in the 40s and 50s again.

Thanks again! :)
