Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to post that two of my daughters (ages at cruise time - 10 and 15) have been getting to know other girls their own age on the kid/teen thread that mvlimmex's daughter's started:chat:. They are really enjoying it and I think it is a great way to have kids get to know each other before the cruise. If they have already made friends before the cruise:grouphug: , it will be less awkward for them, they will enjoy doing activities together in the kids clubs more because they will already have someone they know and they will have a friend they can hang out with when they are not doing family activities. I have two daughters that are going to be 13 on the cruise (Abby and Catherine) and they would love to start chatting with any other girls that are around that age. If anyone is interested, just check out the kid/teen thread that has already been started for this cruise. The link is listed on mvlimmex's posting on page #16 (I believe) of this thread. Looking forward to making this the BEST cruise yet!!!!:cool1:

Hi and :welcome:

Here is a thread that my oldest DD started:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3065407

I also have a DD who will be 9 that has been writing on here, and would love to write your DD if she is interested. :)
We just joined DVC as well on our last cruise, we own Animal Kingdom Lodge. :)
Vicki

Hey Vicki,
Congratulations on becoming a DVC member. We own at Animal Kingdom too. We also own at Saratoga Springs. Our girls love Animal Kingdom better so we always stay there when they are with us. Nothing beats getting to see live animals off your balcony every day:goodvibes My two daughters have really been enjoying getting to know your two daughters. Expect more postings tonight from them. They have busy with school and family activities during the last week but are anxious to start chatting with your daughters again. Thanks for starting that thread. They are even more excited now about the cruise than before.

Hi,
We are excited about being DVC members and are looking forward to staying in a villa next year.:goodvibes That would be really enjoyable and relaxing to see the animals right outside your balcony from your room.:thumbsup2

My girls too are really enjoying chatting with your daughters. I will let them know that they will be posting tonight. They will be very excited to hear from them. I do think it does make the cruise more exciting for them. My girls are always checking to see if your girls wrote.:goodvibes

It is good for the kids to make friends before the cruise so they have friends before they ever get there. I would love for the same thing to happen for the adults. I have been on many cruises and have tons of friends just from the cruises that I keep in touch with. Hopefully between our FB page and this thread we will get more activity and participation.

We just booked this week! We are DVC members, family of 5. Myself DH, Pete and my DW Kerry, DS Daniel (15), DD Holly(9) and DD Keira (7)and yes we picked her name because of "Keira" Knightly spelling of the name! Hard core Disney family. Starting with our Honeymoon almost 16 years ago, next month! We own at Wilderness, Saratoga and Bay Lake. (1 for each child). We are traveling with another super hard core mouse fan Gina and her BFF! We have all cruised numerous times! we are total excited beyond belief!:dance3:

:welcome: Be sure to check out our face book page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/259078974172354/ We are taking names for the Fish Extender list, Secret Mickey and Cabin Tours if you are interested. Just let us know which you want to participate in (if any) and your cabin number! Looking forward to getting to know you better before the cruise.

PS..We own at Old Key West :)

I know what you mean about making life-long friends from the cruises. My DH and I met a couple through the DisBoards 3 years ago that were going on the same cruise that we were going on and we starting chatting. Both of us were cruising without our kids on this cruise. After getting to know each other for several months on the Disboards, we decided to link reservations and sit together for dinner each night. We "Hit it Off" so great that we booked another cruise together immediately for the next year. We just cruised with them for the 3rd time last month and have booked a 4th cruise next February with them. As long as you are open to meeting new people, great things can happen.

It was a lot of fun going with our group from the Dis boards.:thumbsup2 We have been wanting to go back there ever since we went there in 2010.

Vicki

Lurking here:surfweb:, as we have friends booked on this sailing, and we're keeping an eye on it. We have one on the books that we'll be moving.

By any chance were you on MNSSHC (10/30/10)? The group excursions we did were awesome.

I don't know if lvlimmex was on your 10/10 cruise or not, but I think we cruised together in April 2010 on a short 3 day bahamas on the Wonder. I went solo & we had a cruise pre-meet at Fishlips.

This cruise will be DH & I with Dmil (in another stateroom). We're also doing the Eastern itinerary the week before.

Hi Sam and Joan,
Yes we were on that cruise with you. :thumbsup2 That was a fun cruise with a lot of activities! Did you go on the one to Nachi Cochem? That would be great if you joined us on this cruise.:goodvibes I hope to talk to you again soon!

Thanks Donna for posting these. By what method are we voting from ie: posting here or FB, OR messaging here or on FB? If messaging who are we messaging? ;) Just want to make sure my vote goes to the right person.

Sharon,
Yes, glad you mentioned something. :disrocks:I thought your Dis name looked familiar. That was a fun cruise, they all are, but I hate 3's and 4's. Congrats on the BTB.

Vicki,
Loved the Nachi day, and we did Capt. Marvin's with the sting rays...what an experience. Also met up with some Dissers the night before.

I'll become active on here when we officially move our booking. We have the 10% for onboard booking as well as 25% for coming off the Rock & Roll Sandy cruise in 1 piece.

I'll be lurking...love to see what is in the works for group excursions, pre cruise, etc.

Hi...I'm not sure...I will check with Pam. I would guess either place and maybe we'll have a poll on here like at the beginning to vote,
Thanks!!

Donna if you can make a poll on DIS and maybe on Facebook that would be great. I am traveling today and it is hard to do from phone. Thanks for helping!

Hope you don't mind me sharing, but I reached an exciting milestone today. :cool1:

Last April 24th I walked into a Weight Watchers meeting, hoping that I'd be able to lose weight. I have some physical/medical issues that would be better if I could lose weight. In the past 6 years my metabolism slowed down & made it hard/impossible to lose weight so had my doubts that WW could help.

Weighed in this morning at a WW meeting and I'm at goal  & 35 lbs lighter than I was last April!

Probably the funniest thing that happened to me during this process was when we were returning from our fabulous WDW VWL trip in December. Even though I had already lost about 25 lbs then, I was still wearing the same clothes. The day we left, I had to borrow a belt from my DH because my capris were beginning to slip off. At MCO security I was afraid that I might have to take the belt off to go through the scanner. Before getting that far I asked the 1st security employee if I'd have to take the belt off (made of fabric & plastic) he thought I should be able to go through with it on. Well, on the other side of the scanner they said somethings not quite right, I'll have to go through it again & was I wearing a belt? I said yes, but it's just plastic & fabric. They made me take it off. There I am in the scanner with my arms up (which I can't hold up very long) & trying to put my knees together in the hopes that I can keep my capris from falling off. Did manage not to lose them in front of the several hundred of my not so closest friends. Whew. :thumbsup2 OK I sit down & put my shoes on, & I see the tram coming. Instead of putting the belt back on I grab a handful of one side of my capris, & the handle of my rolling carryon in the other hand & quickly, not quite running head towards the tram. :hyper: My DH was laughing & shaking his head. :sad2: We got on the tram where I was able to snag a place to sit down & put the belt back on. Crisis averted. DH said, you know you didn't have to be in such a hurry to catch the tram because we have plenty of time before our flight. DOH!!:rolleyes1

I decided then that it was finally time to go shopping for clothes that fit me better when we got home.

I think on this cruise I won't mind having photos taken of us so much. Might even buy more pics than usual. ;) Just 8 more months to go.:hyper:

I am sitting here laughing with tears in my eyes ! So glad you did not give security and people on the tram a free show!!
