We've been booked on this cruise since October and just now got to thinking about the meet thread. Glad to see so many already on here.

We are:

Me--Trent (phred84044)
DW--Tracy (disneymom84074)
DD 14*--Karlee
DS 11*--Carson
DD 3*--Grace
*Ages at time of sailing

We had a group of 4 families (close friends and family) with us on the Wonder in October and we all rebooked for this cruise. Since then one more family has been added and hoping for a few more.

Count us in for the FE. Our Wonder cruise was the first time participating and it was a lot of fun!

We have done the Western Carribean on the Magic once before and we are very much looking forward to returning. We preferred it over the Eastern; Grand Cayman 7-mile beach is so wonderful! Also hoping to visit some ruins in Costa Maya this time.

Welcome aboard! I will add your names to the FE master list!

I've also been on the Western except on Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas. I really enjoyed the ruins at Chacchoben and we are going to go back there. They haven't bend discovered very long and they are still unearthing them.

DD13 (at time of cruise) and I really, really, would like to visit interresting ruins.

But DD lives with Cerebral Palsy (light, but still). So if there is a lot of walking, we may need the wheelchair, or we may need to pace ourselves down, or we may need to make special arrangements. It's not that we are wheelchair bound, as she barely, if ever, uses it at home. (And she figure skates 5 hours a week. But figure skating involves a lot of gliding... and a travelling harness when necessary.)

Since that previous to the ship, we'll be 9 days in the parks, there is no way, she'll walk that much for 9 days in a row. And the wheelchair prevents her from "wandering" too much, because she also lives on the spectrum (light autism). (By the way, we "lost" her on the Dream, last May. I think she was more afraid than we were...) So we will, have the wheelchair. And depending of what we do the previous or the following day, we may need to use it if possible with the condition of the land (bumpy, rocky, on a heavy slope, etc.).

But, we still don't want to miss the most interresting ruins. Can you rank them by location? Point of interest? Do you know that much?

My second topic is about the "glass boats". Is it worth the expense? Are some locations better than others? Bigger, smaller boats? Competing with the ruins since the best one is at the same port? Any other info or tip you think can be important?

I feel weird to ask these questions so early, but it may save part of our vacations.

So, if anyone can share an answer, good, if not, well we'll all wait together that someone, some day, will do so. Thanks in advance,

:tinker:Poussière de fée!

I can't answer about the glass bottom boats because I haven't taken one and I'm on the fence about taking them after reading a bunch of reviews about how cloudy the water usually is from activity.

But here is what you need to know about Chacchoben:

Important Additional Information
Guests must be ambulatory. Wheelchairs (collapsible or electric) are not permitted. Tour operators will deny participation to Guests arriving in wheelchairs or electric scooters.
Expectant mothers should consult their physicians prior to participating.

Disney Cruise Line

My grandma turned 80 the day before our cruise set sail in 2005 and during this tour, there were a few times I needed to lend her my arm. Some of the terrain was bad enough that we were too busy looking down so we didn't trip instead of enjoying the views.

Thanks 1000 times!

Well, we'll have to make a decision, but if grandma did it - and I guess you were not running a marathon - we may consider it seriously.

DD still has a bit over 22 months to grow up and keep training to be able to do it. And you know what? She very often impresses us. So, we'll see and make an informed decision when time comes. I guess I'll start reading reviews. It probably will help.

Thanks again,

:tinker:Poussière de fée!

We're booked too! :thumbsup2 Celebrating my birthday on this cruise (Nov. 10). How many? Well I've been celebrating "over 21 again" for so many years I may not ever remember. :lmao: Of course with 2 19 yo's & 1 18 yo I guess I couldn't even pass for 29. ;)

Me: Sharon
DH: Allen
cabin: 5650
FE participating

That's wonderful news!!

You're right, we weren't running a marathon. Shoot, I don't even remember walking fast at all. If Disney's excursion is like the one we did, they will stop and allow you to climb to the top of one of the ruins. The steps are incredibly steep and Grandma and I elected to stay down below. :)

We will be in 6668.

Thank you so much!

This is exciting because we're rapidly growing!

Our boys would probably love to be included in the FE Exchange, but since they're not traveling with Allen & me on this cruise, they'll just have to sit this one out this time.

By the way, our room is the same as we had in May on the Dream: 7194 and we loved it so much, I made sure I reserved it on the very first day to get it again. :goodvibes:cool1::thumbsup2
