November 8, 2008 7 Night Eastern 11/8/2008 11-8-2008 FIRST POST UPDATED ON 10/16/08

ibounce...Dee says HI!! She is going to pay off my cruise for me!! heheheh long story!!! So glad you and the family will be celebrating b days together...how fun!!! Wish you were going on this cruise. Who knows we may book another when on board!!!

Hello all, have been very busy with work. I got on the thread last weekend and had to read about 10 or 11 pages. Then I wrote my reply to you all and for some reason something happened and everything I wrote went away. :confused3
Anyway.............:welcome: Welcome aboard all new comers. I know who you are as I have been keeping a list since the beginning which helps to know what page I last read.
I do want to wish the wedding couple best wishes and your honeymoon will be great on board the Magic. :bride:
We are not doing much in the way of excursions as our vacations are really for rest and relaxation. I did do excursions on the first cruise we did and it made me feel like I was at work. Up at 6 get breakfast be ready for the vehicle to pick you up rush....rush.....rush. (My work days are 16 hours so you can see why vacation means vacation to me.) When I retire, which at this rate will be never, :rotfl: I will be able to do excursions as I have all year to rest up for them.:rotfl2:
When on board I want to be waited on and I take full advantage of just that. :tink:
There are some things that I would like to do on board as far as the tastings go. I'm sorry to hear that the :drinking1 Wine Tasting is not that great, but may try anyway. Also would like to do the :drinking1 Margarita Tasting (spelled wrong, but who cares as long as it tastes good: thumbsup2 ). I've done Martini Tasting and hated it. I found out that was not a drink for me. I also would like to try and get to the :snooty: Tea at the Palo. The rest of the time is to be spent for eating and drinking! Wait a minute I will be drinking...:yay:
Well let me run have to go shopping and finish :laundy:.
Hey everyone 95 more days and we'll be boarding.
See you all there, Arghpirate:

Good to see you back on the boards. I've missed you! Maybe we can try the margarita tasting together. That is one of dh's favorites, but I think I am one of the few people who do not care too much for them so maybe a tasting would be nice!

Just went shopping, out to dinner and to see Mamma Mia. Saw previews for High School Musical 3 coming out November 7---bet that is on the ship. The kids should love that.

Disney Dreams, everyone!:cloud9:

Hi All - Just wondering how many families are dressing up like pirates for Pirate night. Looks like DH will be wearing black khakis and a skull and crossbones polo shirt. I will be wearing blk pants and white shirt with red sash. Not sure whether to buy costumes for the kids or just pirate shirts. Would love to know what everyone is doing.

WendyJersey- Glad to hear from you.

PixieDust- Did you enjoy Mamma Mia? It's gotten good reviews.

bye for now.

PixieDust I want to see that movie so bad, Dh isn't into Abba so it looks like I'll be finding someone else to see it with me.

Just paid off the cruise on Thursday so reality has set in and now I'm getting excited. :dance3:
As far as Pirates Night goes we will wear what we had for the last cruise that will be one less thing to purchase. Yeah!!! I was really surprised my dh wore it the first time. But alas, there is a little Pirate in everyone. Argh pirate:
I purchased our pirates outfits at a Halloween Store. (These stores seem to pop up out of nowhere usually at strip malls or inside of a mall that has an empty store. They usually open around the end of September beginning of October.) You just have to be there early to find what you want as waiting for sales at the end of October could burn you me matey! Argh Argh pirate:

Mamma Mia looks like it will be a fun movie. We usually wait for things to come out on DVD as we are not movie goers. :3dglasses

Thanks for missing me Pixie Dust. Got my hands full and can't wait for this trip. It is now paid for and now I'm getting ready for it. My dh isn't to fond of margarita's either. This first time I had a taste of one I had a dreadful cold. The margarita tasted horrible. Four years after that I tried it again and loved it. I've been drinking them ever since. Can't wait to me you and everyone else on board. :)

Yeah I finally found the thread!! My fiance and I are booked on this cruise as well. It will be nice to see you all again. This is his first Disney Magic cruise. Faireygod mother and I got him into it with a short three day Wonder cruise. We'll see how he likes the longer cruise. If you are morning gym ppl then we shall see you then. So excited it will be our last family cruise for a while but it should prob be the best, since they always seem to get better.

Welcome aboard!!!! We have a nice big group of DISner's going on this Cruise~ it's going to be a blast!!!

Does anyone know how to make one of those Fish Extenders? I would love to the exchange, but don't know where to even to begin on how to make one.

on the main board there is a thread on FE and someone has posted all the measurements. I will try to find it again when I have time and I'll link it here. I need to go to the craft store to price the materials, because it might be cheaper just to buy the $30 ones off e-bay.

We are definitely dressing up the girls. Not sure what dh and I will do.

Stitches- I bought a fish extender from ebay. I figured by the time I bought everything and tried to make it. It was the easiest solution for me. I don't sew but thought I could use the iron on tape. I figured I would get so frustrated.

Gecko- I finally made my first sign. I had to play around with a couple photo programs but finally did it. I also have my niece helping me with a couple. The sign I made was for my son and he loved it. So thank you for your help. I was intimidated by the photo programs but it was just easier than Micro Word. Thanks again.

Just to confirm - we are able to call at 12 midnight on August 10 for 90 day out ressies, correct? Thanks! Is anyone else planning the Dubloon Sail and Snorkel? We have 3 kids (11, 10 & 7) and were thinking of this excursion while in STT.

So I saw a comment about something with St Maarten. Is there a plan for visiting this festival? It sounds like a great way to see the culture of the place. Are there anymore comments of the plans?

I think we may just wear pirate shirts and bandanas. Don't really have room for costumes. My 8 yr old daughter wants to dress up in a "sassy pirate" outift. Now i need to find one. Also the disneyshopping outlet store has Elizabeth Swan costumes on sale-i think x sm and sm for $9.99 if that helps anyone!

I am pretty new to this thread. Is there going to be a meet for this group? I could go back and read all the pages but I would probably miss the news anyhow. I'd like to make some friends for my 8 yr old daughter and for me!!- thanks

Hi, There
We'll be in full pirate attire for pirate night. In our experience on Magic for pirate night about a third of the people "dress up" beyond a bandana. Our pirate costumes double (with a little adjustment) for attire for our local renaissance fairs! I made most of the items for our family with "packability" in mind. While you will enjoy pirate night with our without a costume, it sure is fun to be in costume (and makes for GREAT photos with Captain Jack and the other pirate-dressed characters!)

Not everyone does dress up but our family does. We have a good time dressing up. I think us adults have more fun dressing up than some of the kids, but I don't care! I love pirate night and dressing up is what makes it the best!

Hey everyone!!!!!

We are also on this magical cruise with you.:cheer2: It is me, my DH, DD8 and DS6.

I have been lurking around reading and thought it was about time I introduced myself and starting getting to know everyone so that we would be "welcome" at the meet. I've been reading through the pages but I can't seem to remember when the meet is??? We would love to get to know everyone.

My husband and I are going to do the wine tasting, beer tasting and martini tasting:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 . Would love to get together with some other people doing these tastings.:dance3: Any takers??? We did the wine and beer tastings on our last cruise and really enjoyed them.

We have done three other Disney cruises... one 4 day and two other 7 day Eastern ones. I never get tired of Disney... they are the best (IMHO) when it comes to family cruising.

So what else is going on... any other fun events we need to know about.

How about Palo tea...my husband and I did this last time but I think he would rather not this time. More of a girly thing... I get it!!! I wonder if a group of us girls could go? How would we arrange something like that, if anyone is interested? Am I being too forward with this... sorry if I am. I'm just a really social person and I love to have fun and meet new people.

Well, now that I have overwhelmed everyone, I think I'll end it here and wait for some responses.

Talk with you all soon.

Gretchen

count us in for the wine tasting.

SillySully - We are thinking of doing the dubloon sail. We have 3 girls 5, 7, & 9.

CheeringMom - my daughter just turned 9, we'll have to get the girls together at the meet.

SkyLynx - I really didn't think I could get more excited but after seeing your fabulous pirate picture, I can barely contain myself!!! You've also convinced me to dress up!!

VA Girl - Welcome!!! We plan on doing every "tasting" there is! are they offered more than once?!! I'm not really in to the "tea" thing. I think my dh would kill me!

The tastings are offered more than once, although they may not be exactly the same thing. I think all the wine tastings are consistent, but as an example, there are at least 2 martini tastings. One of them will be for martinis made from gin, while the other tasting will use vodka martinis.
