November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

I can't think of a ride at WDW that I won't go on. I'll try any of them.

I'm game for a page swap. I do 12x12 scrapbooks, but think packing 12x12 stuff might be hard, so I vote for 8x8. I'll just glue them onto a 12x12 sheet when I get home and have room for some extra journaling or photos.

I myself will not go on TOT. I tried once and was unable to go on the ride. I felt bad for my son but I just couldnt. He was able to go on the next trip with family members.

I am all in for a swap if you guys want and whatever size you want. Count me in. Can I have pirate night? I already have lots of stuff for those pages.

Anyway let me know. Tim and I are exhausted from the move and we are now both sick today:sick:. And the thought of going to work tomorrow is just too much to think about right now.:headache:

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Just a thought on the page swap....since everyone may not do the same page size, and worries about the pages getting messed up with packing, what if we just bought the things to make a page and put it in a bag. We could even decorate the bag. That way they could be used on any size page? Thoughts??

Okay, you have me convinced on the page swap. I think either 8x8 page or the bag of stuff to do a page are both good ideas, it would be hard to pack 12x12 pages.

I'm game for whatever you guys decide, it will certainly cut down on work cropping after the cruise. Since I will probably have 1000 pics to do, I will take all the help I can get :rotfl2:

I won't go on Tower of Terror either. I am pretty game for anything else, but the dropping freaks me out.

One of the reasons I thought about the bag is..if you decide to do a theme, what if the person has a 4x6 picture, versus a 5x7 or an 8x10?? If we each just pick a theme, and put the stuff for a page in the bag, they can use whatever size picture they would like. Then to, we could just number the bags, draw numbers and pick the bag with that number? :confused3 Again, I am just throwing out some suggestions, and am willing to go with whatever everyone decides.

Boy you have been a chatty bunch while I was gone.:goodvibes

Favorite restaurant: Chef Mickeys, we love the atmosphere!!

I Will NEVER do the Tower of Terror or the Rocking Roller coaster:scared1:
My family loves them but they scare me to even think about them:lmao:

Had good weather this weekend but cooling off this next week.
I am exhausted from a busy weekend, so will say Good night and catchyou all in the morning,

Kathy

Wow I was the last to postlast night and the first this morning. Thats strange?

Ok who has a question for the day today??

I will check back in a bit to see if someone has posted one?

Have a great Monday everyone,

Kathy

Ok can I do the question of the day?

What is your favorite Disney Vacation memory? Can be WDW or DCL.

My favorite is the first time Nathan and I went to Disney. We went alone and Nathan was six. He and I were holding hands and walking down main street and when we saw the castle for the first time we just stood there in aww. We said nothing for a good two minutes. Nathan turned and looked at me and said "Mommy this is the best vacation ever and you are the best Mommy in the whole world". That made me cry. Happy tears of coarse.

To this day we have been back but it was the best vacation and best time we have had together. I hope with the surprise of the cruise and everything that he enjoys this just as much as our first time to WDW.

Ok now that I am teary eyed chime in and tell us your fav memories.

Favorite vacation memory:

It was the entire trip , our first time to WDW and we took our 5 year old grandaughter and 2 of our kids with us.
Not just a single memory from that trip, it was every minute of everyday watching all the kids experience WDW for the first time.:goodvibes

Highlights:
Watching GD see a character for the first time.

Watching GD squeal and run for safety the first time she flushed the toilet on the airplane as everyone laughed.

Watching the kids on Dumbo.

GD waking every morning with a huge smile and it stayed there all day long.

The airline loosing GD suitcase of all new Disney clothes, luckily they later found it..
GD stealing cheese off my plate to wave in the air at Chef Mickeys so Mickey would smell the cheese and come to our table.:lmao:

The list goes on and on and on. The entre first trip for us but having GD along really helped us to experience the magic through her eyes too.

The first time we went to the parks with Drew I guess. We had been before but the other two were older and while they still enjoyed the characters they didn't see them the way Drew did - he must have been 2-1/2. That kiss was something - and the mark was not to be washed off!

But, on our Westerin in 2006, the son that just got married proposed - so that is a pretty special memory (only I wasn't on deck 7 aft at the time it happened) the did come to dinner all grinning and stuff.

Question of the day

Too many to mention all of them - but one of the first (back in the days when you had to HUNT for characters) was rounding the corner in the exposition hall to find ALL 7 Dwarfs - together!

A totally personal one was the 25th anniversary surprise my dh gave me in the rose garden at Magic Kingdom, complete with sweet words (at the time he didn't ever say much, so this was a huge shocker), roses, cake, glass slipper, wedding ears, 'diamond' bracelet (mickey of course) and fireworks. I about fainted.

OK, so I haven't posted to this thread in literlly like a month....but I'm jumping in again!

Favorite WDW vacation memory....really, I have to pick just one? ;)

Well I can't....so here are my favorites:

1. When DD got to open Epcot and wake up Tinkerbell in the same trip! She was so excited and felt so special.

2. DD's first BBB makeover. I was teary-eyed.

3. Illuminations cruise that a wonderful DISer shared with military folks free of charge as a "thank you". He and his wife even decorated the boat in patriotic theme and had snacks and drinks for us. It was the highlight of our trip that year. The cruise was captained by another DIS board member who gave a wonderful tour of Disney via the waterways.

As an aside, I wanted to share my excitement with people who would "get it"--we were on the waitlist for main dining and I called yesterday and found out we had been moved to main dining!!!!!:woohoo: No one else (not even DH) understands why I'd be so excited over this. But our kids are young, and it would have just been added drama for me to try to deal with late seating--not something I wanted on my vacation!

Favorite Disney Memory; Getting married at the Wedding Pavilion. The whole weekend was amazing, but the actual ceremony can't be beat, except maybe for the part where the officiant read the wrong vows. We still laugh about that.

Here is a question for today. What is the one ride in WDW that you refuse to ride?
V

Ok, I'll do everything in WDW but there is one at DLR I won't do... the Swinging Buckets of Death!!! :rotfl: If you are not familiar there is a ferris wheel at Paradise Pier in DCA. I hate ferris wheels under the best of circumstances... don't like heights. But this one has these buckets that aren't fixed, they swing in curves like in a giant S shape. Imagine if you were in the bucket at the top of the ferris wheel, then it goes down it's S! :scared1:I won't go anywhere near it. I did the fixed buckets on the ferris wheel ONCE and that was enough as it is.

Although I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tower of Terror!!!! It rocks.

I think the bag is a great idea. It would still be easy to do production style.

Ok can I do the question of the day?

Alright I've got several so bear with me!

1. Disneyland 1978- my grandparents had just moved to LA so I flew out to see them all by myself. I had been to WDW a couple times already. My grandparents were so proud to take me to Disneyland! I remember my grandmother taking me on the Matterhorn. She didn't realize it was a roller coaster! I sat between her legs (It's Space Mountain style) and she laughed hysterically the whole time. She was SO scared! I can't ride that without thinking of her. :angel:Till the day she died she loved DL/WDW and I was blessed to have many, many, many trips with her there even into my 30s and with my own kids, at both parks. She passed away 2 years ago and her love of all things Disney lives on with me.

2. Disneyland 1999- I was pregnant with DS and so I took DD (then 2) to Disneyland a lot. Probably every month or so. We'd spend all day riding Dumbo, Small World, playing in Toontown, and visiting Minnie Mouse's house. It was so special, the time just the two of us. I knew it wasn't going to last long, and I really savored that time when it was just me and her. Our birthdays are only 1 day apart and we always play hooky from school on those days and go to Disneyland together. Sometimes with a friend or family, some years just she and I. Two days together, just us girls.

3. WDW 2003- Kyle was a huge Peter Pan freak at that point, aged 3. He loved everything to do with Peter. We had all manner of Peter Pan toys and pirate ships in the house, and rode the ride every single time at Disneyland, no matter how long the wait. But, in all our Disneyland trips we had never seen Peter Pan out and about, just in Fantasmic. Well, we walked out of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and there was Peter Pan... crouched down, hiding in a bush! He whistled to Kyle to come over. He asked him if he had seen Hook (he had, just 50 yards away), and then invited him to play. They got out little sticks out of the bushes and played sword fighting with each other. There was no one else around. Peter must have spent 5-10 minutes playing with my son, right down on his level. No CMs around, nothing. I stood there with tears in my eyes because this was my son's dream come true. :wizard:

I'm loving everyone's memories but the wrong vows part made me LAUGH!!

How special to be married at the Wedding Pavilion!!! Wow.

FE Question??

Is anyone participating in FE have any allergies that we should be aware of?(peanuts, diary products, etc)

Thanks

Krista

FE - DH is diabetic but that is it on our part.
Traci, I hate to ask but could maybe those of us that have issues send you a PM (so they are all in one place) and you could just update the FE post with that info???
