November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

Okay, time for another question of the day....

What is your favorite thing/place at the World Showcase in EPCOT?
Mine is the American Adventure. I especially love to hear the Voices of Liberty there. Second would be the Chinese Acrobats at the China pavillion.

I love everything about the World Showcase!!!! Starting with eatin'....popcorn::

Not sure if I am answering this one correctly or not but we like to taste and try the different cokes from around the country and beers too.

And ending with drinkin'!!!:drinking1

HAHAHA Traci I can tell we'd get along just fine!! I am making Drinking Around the World shirts this time. The kids' shirts will have the mickey head logos but obviously no alcohol references.

Seriously, I love going into all the countries' pavilions and checking things out. Last year my kids made those masks and got stamps from the different countries. It was really fun.

Okay, question of the day time again...

What is your favorite food/treat at WDW and/or on DCL?

Okay I am with you on the Dole Whip Float!!! Mmmmmm.

And on DCL... I liked everything really...Gail, I too love the Mickey bars! But I think my favorite dining room food was this great sushi wrap that we had for an appetizer. Delish! I'm looking forward to Lobster Night on the Magic since it's one of my very favorite foods. It's our family's traditional Christmas Eve dinner. :goodvibes

I liked this question because it gives me ideas of things to be sure and eat on our vacation. I'm such a foodie when it comes to Disney. Now I need to decide what to eat during our post-cruise stay in WDW. There are so many nights at home when DH and I are discussing what to have for dinner and I always say "You know what sounds good?" and then I reply with things like "a Monte Cristo from DL" or "anything from DCL" and I make him nuts. I'm so excited to not have to worry about cooking dinner.

Where have you planned for post-cruise?

I'm going to do CRT for the first time. DD is 12, I am taking her and my MIL. I can't wait just a "girls" breakfast. My FIL will take DS to Ohana's for the Lilo and Stitch breakfast...Stitch is DS's favorite and he loved it last year.

We're also going back to Boma and Sci-Fi Dine In, and trying Tutto Italia and 50s Primetime this time around. Oh, and Boma breakfast too.

I haven't planned my dining post-cruise yet. I put the 90 day mark on my calendar and then the day came and I couldn't decide what we want to do. We'll have DD2 with us and I'm trying to decide if she'll be too tired of sit down meals. I do want to plan at least one or two though. Decisions, decisions. We did 50s PrimeTime last year and it was fun. I'm thinking about Boma breakfast because I hear that it is great.

Favorite food at WDW - Pretzel bread at Le Celllier.

Favorite foods at DLR - Spicy link corn dog from DCA, Monte Cristo sandwich from Blue Bayou.

Favorite DLR rides - Screamin, Indiana Jones, GRR, POTC and TMRR.

Favorite food at WDW - Roast Beast (any kind) with Tamarind Mustard Sauce at Boma

Fav on ship - chicken fingers!

Plans for after? Take another 7 day cruise immediately!

My favourite food at WDW was the big fancy candy apples from Goofy's pantry.

Today was DS & DD's first day back to school, now in grade two. They had a great day.

Hello Everyone. This is our first Disney Cruise and my first post here. In fact it is my first post on any board!!!! Needless to say we are getting so excited for our upcoming vacation!!! My husband and I will be traveling with our 8 year old little girl. Can't wait to get to know you and meet on the ship. Any advice you would like to give us would be great.

The count down is on.... 61 days!:cheer2:

Sarajane:flower3:

Welcome Sarajane!!!:cool1:
We have a DD7, who will be 8 in January, so pretty close!

SERIOUSLY everyone? I take a weekend off and there are how many PAGES to catch up on? LOL!

Favorite WDW ride: Toy Story Mania (Hollywood) and Soarin' (EPCOT).

LEAST favorite ride: Tower of Terror. Hadn't been on it in 10 years (really hate falling rides) and Ashley (AllThingsDisneyLover) made me go on it a couple of weeks ago. I believe I had a near death experience.

Favorite DCL Food: Strawberry Soup at embarkation lunch, paninis at Goofy's Gallery and Palo Chocolate Souffle.:lovestruc

Favorite DCL beverage: Whatever DOTD (drink of the day) at the Sailaway Celebration in a pretty DCL cup! :cloud9: Because, then the PARTY has started! :cool1:

Post cruise plans: {{{sigh}}} Drive 45 minutes home and unpack. Such a bummer. It's one huge disadvantage of living so close to the port.:guilty:

Hey guys and gals,

I now have a new set of questions for you seasoned cruisers. Now that I have booked with CBR for the night before I know we will be picked up later at CBR and taken to the port. But do we get our DCL ID cards at the hotel DCL check in desk? Or do we still check in and then board at the cruise line terminal. Pls help me as I am now confused as I had not planned or researched this one.:surfweb:

Thanks so much for the help. I am tired and not really into digging around on the boards right now. :upsidedow

You will get your DCL cards at the cruise line terminal. Don't feel bad for not digging around the boards--we're happy to help with questions!

Besides Traci spending one night before the cruise, is anyone else doing WDW before the cruise?

We will be there all week before the cruise. It seems everyone is styaing after the cruise.

Traci we will be catching the cruise line bus too but we have to go to Animal Kingdom to catch it because we are staying at All Star Movies.

I know our bus makes more than one stop, who knows maybe we will be on the same bus??

Good night every one,

Kathy

Favorite food: Dole Whip
Favorite Ship Food: All of it
After Cruise: A very sad trip to the airport

Kathy

Well, we didn't intend to. We are taking a redeye flight in Wed night/Thursday am. Our original plan was to go straight to Cocoa Beach, and spend 2 days there just chillin'. Now, my aunt is going to WDW with my parents the 3 days pre cruise (she's not cruising), and she wants to see us and the kids. SO, we'll be *around* WDW on Thursday, staying at the Doubletree. We'll do dinner in DTD with everyone. If the weather is good- we'll go to Blizzard Beach. If not- drive around and check out the other DVCs! I wanted to stay at Beach Club instead of the Doubletree, but couldn't stomach the price. Hard to beat FREE! Plus, that's just more money to spend on the cruise. Friday we'll drive down to Cocoa Beach and still get some unwinding, getting-in-the-groove time.

Christine

Plans pre-cruise - we fly down on Friday, arriving in the afternoon and will take Magical Express to Saratoga. We will rest up and then have dinner at DTD someplace and have an early evening I imagine. We pick our car up at the Hilton on Saturday morning and then we will get checked out and on to the grocery stop for whatever I have forgotten and our beer and Pepsi and head to the ship. Nothing very exciting.

Plans post-cruise - this is where it is exciting - cruise again!!! But, on the
21st, we will head to the airport and back to Michigan. How sad.....

Well I would like to stay longer but I will already be pulling Nate out of school for 5 days. So really cant do much more than we already are. But it will be such an exciting time he will not forget this birthday. We are so excited and cant wait to get this party on the road. I am now thinking I need to schedule a good character breakfast for the morning we board the cruise. Since we will be getting there later than we planned now that we are not staying at the hyatt. Nathan will love a character breakfast anyway.

So Kathy yes we might be on the same bus!!!:banana:

So whats the ? of the day?

We have a group of people checking in at this RV park and all of them have old restored cars. Last night the first to arrive was a 1910 Buick, i took a photo, then a red one arrived, dont know the make and now 3 more trailers have pulled in towing old cars. So it has to be a meet. I will try and snap a few photos to share out my window. Boy thier cars shine like a million dollars.

Since we are country roads here with little traffic it is a good place for them to ride around, safely.:thumbsup2 At least it's something for me to enjoy seeing today.:goodvibes

Traci,
I will watch for you on the bus. I think I will recognise you ok. I am printing off my list so I can look for faces. We may be at DTD a couple of evenings for a bit so I may see someone who has been there eating.:woohoo:
Traci if your bus stops at AK, keep an eye out for us!! I iwll be the one jumping for joy!!! YEAH!!! Time to cruise!!

Kathy

Ok, question of the day.

Besides cruising, what do you like to do for recreation?

We love to camp, hike and ride our quads in the mountains.

Kathy

Well, we didn't intend to. We are taking a redeye flight in Wed night/Thursday am.
Christine

Your redeye doesn't happen to stop in SLC does it? We are taking the redeye on Delta on Wed night/Thurs am too. We're staying at AKV and going to AK on Thurs and EPCOT with the inlaws on Fri (the only thing they've done in WDW is one day at the MK years ago).

What do we like to do besides cruise? How about go to the parks :)
We also like planning trips. I like stamping and scrapbooking, DH likes college football. We enjoy some hiking. I love taking DD for walks in her stroller at night.

I am a scrapbooker. Its my calm me down hobby.

Nathan is a gammer. That boy loves to play games. X-box,Wii and playstation.

Tim also likes to play games. Tim also loves to cook and is really good at it.:cool2:

We like to go to movies, play games as a family. And we love to travel.
