NOVEMBER 5th 3 day WONDER!!

We leave for Disney in less then a week...I am sooo excited I can not stand it. Today is PACKING DAY! I also need to find my FE, and tons of other things. We moved less then a month ago and my house is in shambles! Today's plans also include making my fish extender gifts AND all of my magnets! LOL Oh and I am babysitting my niece Alyssa. She is excited about going to see DonDuck and Daisy too....But she is 21 months old and not much of a help at packing. LOL

The packing is all done! It was a bit overwhelming at first wondering if I could pack for 10 days and be able to get everything in 2 large suitcases and 2 carry-ons, but I managed with room to buy stuff to bring home! :thumbsup2
Now if only the week will fly by, we will be very happy :yay: to finally start this long awaited vacation. Can't wait to meet everyone and wish everyone has a safe flight or car trip. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

So excited, we leave in a week! :cool1:

I am jealous of you guys that have your packing done. DH finished almost all of his last week but I have yet to start. Planning on working on that all day Halloween day. But we're not flying so we don't have space restrictions so that helps.

We are going to Universal for the first time - has anyone been? Are there a lot of rides that I can't take bags/items on? Trying to figure out how much to bring with me there or if I will need to rent a locker.

Hello Everyone! HiddenMinnies here, AKA Mary. My husband(HiddenMickey) has told me all about this thread and I have enjoyed reading all of the post! Would be nice to get a chance to meet you guys on our cruise, very excited and can't wait!!:yay::thumbsup2pirate: Fe is a really cool idea as well, looking forward to participating!

:welcome: Hi there, HiddenMinnies we've been waiting to meet you. glad you got your own screen name. welcome to the Dis! :goodvibes

So DW & I are looking for a small bit of advice. We have a meal booked @ Palo on the first night, and had some attire questions. We read through the Navigators from our first cruise and it sounds like what we were planning on wearing (me: dress shirt & tie, khaki pants, dw: nice blouse, dressy skirt) would be ok. We were reading somewhere else (I forget where at the moment) that women should have dresses or pant-suits, but the male attire would be similar to what I had listed for myself. Seems like a bit of a double-standard if men can get away with what most would consider a bit more dressed down than women. Would you think what we both have planned would be acceptable? DW & I are hoping that she would be able to wear what she has planned, or she might have to get something new. Our plan is to wear what we have, and hope what we have is good enough for them. If we do get turned away, that would be kind of a lousy start to our vacation.

As far as excursions, we don't really have anything planned at this time. We're not even sure if we'll be getting off of the boat in Nassau. We might just hang around on the ship & play bingo, eat, and go to movies.

I can't wait to be on vacation!!! I only have 5 days of work left after today, and I only have 1.25 hours left in my shift today. Vacation is alllllllllmost here pirate:pirate:pirate:
Your attire sounds just fine. I'm planning on wearing a skirt w/ a dressy sweater when we dine at Palo. If they say anything to your DW tell her to tell them that it is a 2 piece dress. :rolleyes1

That's a bit revealing for my taste...and I'd want the other diners to be able to keep their food down.
:lmao:

FE Gifts are done!!!!!!:woohoo:

Suitcases are up from the basement and ready to go!!:cool1:

Monthly bills for November prepaid or put on official "hold" status!:yay:

completely broke from prepaying all cruise related stuff:cheer2:

can't concentrate on anything that comes across my mind unless it relates to Disney:thumbsup2

can't sleep........must be almost time to go....BOOOOOO---YAAHHH!!!

sand, surf and turf and mickey bars galore in 9 days!!!!:dance3::dance3:

Fe's are not done here, yet.....suitcases not out, yet......15,000 loads of laundry not done, yet....oh and there's the little tidbit of still having to work 4 12-hour days fri, sat, sun, mon then we FINALLY leave on Wed.

Hoping this next week goes very quickly. Lot to do, lot to do.

(hey Tom, we really did swap places from our usual Disney routine. You are prepared a week ahead of time? What's up with THAT? And I am NOT prepared when we hit 1 month to go? What's up with THAT? :scared1: )

I know all will be fine, I keep listening to my boy Bob Marley's 3 little birds "every little 'ting gonna be alright..."

Speaking of which, does anyone know where the "Protect ya tings" Sign is in Nassau? Been laughing at people's pics for months, would like to see it and take a pic. (I know, I'm weird lol) :hippie:

Hi,
I was thinking (instead of packing...:rotfl:) should we confirm a time and meeting place since some of us get to leave this week for vacation-not me :sad2:
Would it be easier to meet inside like someone suggested vs. up on deck as it can be crowded. Just thinking out loud.....
Can't wait for next Thursday! Work is driving me crazy!

OK so we're driving and will have the better part of 2 days (while we're in Universal) without a hotel room. What should we do with our passports? Should we keep them on us (DH worries we'd lose them) or leave them in the car (I worry they'll get stolen)? Any thoughts?

Does universal have lockers like disney does? That way you wouldnt have to leave them in the car but also wouldnt need to worry about them getting wet/lost/dropped on a ride/etc.

I was thinking that also, some of the group should be leaving real soon. It doesnt matter to us. Before or after the drill, inside or outside. Really our only preference would be after the sail away party since it's our first cruise and we have no idea what or where we'll be between the buffet/going to the room/checking out the ship and getting ready for the drill.

But we'll be there regardless, so just let us know where and when. :thumbsup2

My vote is for 3:00 on Deck 9. Based only on my vague remembering that there was a fair amount of "down time" before the drill.:confused3 That said, I am fine with whatever the majority prefers. Hot dog we leave in 8 days!!!!!!

We're good with that also, but 3:00 WHERE on deck 9? lol (remember it's our first cruise, so some form of landmark [shipmark? lol] would help)

Deck 9 is always so Crowded, How about the Secret Deck on 7? Oh wait I am not sure if that is open before we sail? Ok, well whatever everyone thinks! I would love a group picture though!

DW & I probably won't be able to make the meet if it's around 3:00. If we remember correctly, that's the time of the DVC Member meet, but if it isn't we'll try to find all of you that go there :)

What about Deck 10 just up the stairs from the drink station on Deck 9? That is, if they have not moved things around? Any veterans have a good spot? Seems like I can't remember anything for sure from our first cruise. :confused3 That would be overlooking the goofy pool?

DH and I will be wearing lime greem Disboards Cruisers shirts for embarkation day. So we should be easy to spot!
