November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

Kathy (Gma): Hope you're able to post from WDW, otherwise, you will be missed.

Karen (GreensboroKG): Hope Peter is feeling better!

I remember back in August the ship only had about 20 rooms available. I thought that was a lot back then. I did read about a NJ teachers conference in Orlando near our cruise date, probably attributing to it's fullness. I agree also to the Florida rates being released.

We will have a lap top with us and will post from WDW. Peter needs it for some on line college classes he is taking. Having to do school work while on vacation isnt much fun but it is necessary. Good thing is we will have the laptop and will have internet service at our hotel .:thumbsup2

So I will be able to keep up here but not as often as now. I will be out in the parks most of the time.

Hoping for no rain at least for the Adventures away party the first afternoon on the ship. The inside one isnt even worth going to. Even if it rains I will be on deck waving to people along the channel:goodvibes Thats our tradition on the ship. Last night on line it said 60% chance of rain that day:sad2: Hope that will change by the time that day gets here.

Got my frig defrosted and cleaned out, and all our paperwork and passports together, counted out the ones for tips for room service and spending money too. I am way ahead of where I thought I would be which is nice!!
Back later,

Kathy

Kathy,

Better watch out or all of us will be showing up at your cabin for a big party:cool1: Better invite Mickey, Minnie, Chip N Dale, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Now that would be a magical party!!!

Kathy

WOW you guy have some really powerful Pixie dust...

The Hurricane heading toward Florida is doing a U turn now... :lmao:

Good thing its heading away or I would have to huff and puff and blow it away:lmao:

I was hoping we wouldnt have rain for the Adventures away party the first afternoon. I hate the inside party.

Kathy

Me and my DD too! We want to be able to see the sun, sky, web cam, and a few airplanes...

So if New Jersey is off for the week...
So this cruise is going to be the Jersey Shore at SEA:lmao: lol just kidding Jersey People, just don't want a situation!

So another newbie question. Can I carry a Swiss Army knife on board? I almost always have one and take it everywhere. Can I do that for the cruise?

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

We are from NJ and the kids only have two 1/2 days of school that week, thats why we take advantage of this week! Its hard to take the kids out of school now that they are getting older, thank goodness for NJ teacher convention week:thumbsup2

We will try to behave ourselves!

Kathy (GMA) I am so jealous that you leave for the world tomorrow, they are actually talking s*** here on Saturday, we don't normally see any of the white stuff until December:scared1:

Kathy (LTR) So what time is the party for your :bday:party:

My FE shipped, it should be here tomorrow, i can't wait to see it.

Haha!! That was a good one! :) :) I don't watch Jersey Shore at all, but it's hard to not know about that show because it's all over the media everywhere.

So, for the New Jersey people, what do you think about Jersey Shore? Just curious... I really have no opinion because I have never seen it, but the things I hear about it, I feel like makes New Jersey depicted a certain way... and I'm guessing "Jersey Shore" is just one area, right?? I always wonder what the New Jersey folks think about that show! If they did a show like that on Seattle, it's be all these granola/earthy types with dread locks and tie die clothes, vegans, and protests everything... haha!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2: Then, of course, everyone would think everyone from Seattle was like that. :lmao:

So another newbie question. Can I carry a Swiss Army knife on board? I almost always have one and take it everywhere. Can I do that for the cruise?

Hmmm.... I have no idea, actually. My guess is if it's in your suit case, it'd be totally fine, but not sure about if you carry it in your pocket. You have to go through security at the Port, and it's no different than the airports, except you don't have to take your shoes off. But, that is a good question... I can't really answer it, but what I wrote above is just my guess.

That is great NJ gets that week off pretty much!! Man, I wish we had that week off, becauase that is when Tyler's and my birthdays are... it'd make it SO much easier to do something really fun for our birthdays! We only get Veteran's Day off. But, we get other breaks in the year... they do a mid-winter break here, which we get 4 days off in February, and then all these little one-day inservice days here and there.

For my 40th, I'll be celebrating all day!!! :) It'll be a sea day on my bday, so I'll be having a blast that day.... the only plans we have for sure is we're going to Palo on the evening of my birthday, but other than that, just playing the whole day by ear, but I'll for sure make sure it's a day of celebration. :) :dance3:

Well, safe travels, Kathy (gma)!!! Gosh, can't believe you all are leaving tomorrow! I am so excited that we leave a week from tomorrow!! I just cannot wait at all!!! This is going to be a tough week! Luckily, we have a LOT going on between now and when we leave, so I have a lot of distractions to keep me from getting too antsy!

Take care, everyone!!

Kathy

Going to be hard to sleep tonight.

Luckily I have a lot to do tomorrow, so it will go by quickly until Greg gets home tomorrow afternoon.

Catch everyone tomorrow morning,

Kathy

Happy Friday everyone:)

Seven days to go:yay::yay:

Kathy i have to say i have never watch "Jersey Shore", ok i tried one time, but changed the channel after 2 mins, i just couldn't take it:rotfl: I personally think it is a bunch of rubbish and it gives NJ a bad name! The show is based out of one towns at the Jersey Shore!

I think today is going to be a good day. I have been holding off booking our hotel for next Friday, just because the prices of the hotels at the port have shot up recently and i was thinking it would be cheaper to stay in Orlando! I have been bidding on a hotel on priceline (it was the country inn and suites, rooms on their website were $170:scared1:) after bidding $100 and still not getting it, i gave up.

So any way this morning i went on Country I&S website and they had rooms for $140, so back to Priceline i went and bid $85, and I got it:dance3: I am so super excited:banana:

My FE is out for delivery today.....

Oh its going to be a good day.

Kathy (GMA) if i am not back on here before you leave, safe travels and we look forward to meeting you next week, thank you for all your hard work in pulling together "Mickeys Amazing Group of Island Cruisers" :worship:

Trying to get work done is getting harder every day. Now that it is less than a week from when we leave (a week from today we will be arriving in Florida, probably about 8 AM) it is even worse. How will I get anything done in the next 6 days?

One thing I better do though is get packing!

Happy Friday everyone:)

We live in NJ too and also do not watch Jersey Shore. It's absolutely ridiculous. From what I've heard, those people aren't even from Jersey, they are from NY. And there are three sections of NJ anyway (north, central, and south) and North Jersey is VERY different from South Jersey (where we live). But shows like that & Real Housewives make all of NJ look ridiculous.

Claire, which Country Inn & Suites are you in? by the airport or by the port? We are staying at the one by the airport & we paid $86 trough Expedia months ago.

GMA Kathy--have a safe trip! I ditto Claire, thanks for getting us all together! Without you we wouldn't have a group, an FE, and a bunch of completely lost newbies!

Question: I assume DCL provides small toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, & soap. Do they replace them during the week if you go through them? & Does anyone know what brand they are? like Pantene, Suave, etc or are they generic?

We do not watch the Jersey Shore but we love the real New Jersey shores. We go down there every year either for a weekend, on our boat or renting a beach house. Last year we went to Wildwood for a week and had a great time. We also like Point Pleasant Beach.

A week from now we will be getting off the plane in Orlando - YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

I have never watched Jersey Shore but I have been to the Jersey Shore.

But we are closer to the cruise!! Some of us, on here, have already departed. Hope they travel safe!

They do have all the basics and yes they will replace them as needed. If you have 4 or 5 people and theres only 1 bottle of shampoo just ask your room host to give you extra. One thing we always ask for extra of is the pirate gold coins candy they leave on your bed on pirate night and our hosts have always given us handfuls even though we just wanted 5 or 6 extra.

If you need extra hangers in the closet or extra towels or pillows or blankets just ask and they will provide it with no problem.
I dont remember the brand. Its a brand that they have speical just for them. I think its all natural, organic type stuff. I remember they upgraded it to Spa quality shampoo.

Maybe Kathy will remember the brand? I thought it was nice and did bring home a couple small bottles to use.

Kathy

Happy friday everyone,

Claire, Danielle,
I am looking forward to meeting you too. Thanks for the well wishes.

I have all morning to finish packing, then we are out of here.:banana::banana:

I will post from WDW sometime on saturday:thumbsup2

So I will be reading all the nasty things you can say about me once you think I am gone:lmao:
Weather today says sunny and warm on the 5th at the port. Hoping it stays that way.:thumbsup2

Back once more this afternoon before we leave unless I get behind on my packing.

Hope to see a question of the day by then,

Kathy

They do provide shampoo, conditioner etc. I really like it too, it is by H2O, the bottles are a decent size, we probably go through one a day, and they always restock us when we are out:thumbsup2

Danielle, we are staying Country I&S at the port. Its a shame we are not staying at the same one!

I agree North Jersey is very different to South Jersey. We really like to go to the Jersey Shore too. We like Avalon and Starthmere.
