I lived in PR for 13 yrs and my aunt would come from FL to the Island all the time on other cruises. Judging by that and what is in the port we have made speculations as to what we think will be offered. We know "El Morro and the San Cristobal Fort will be offered, it is minutes away from the port. Probably some excursions to the art museums in the area. I'm pretty sure they will offer an excursion to the Bacardi distillery which is across the bay and all that is needed is a ferry to get to the other side. Maybe "El Yunque", which is the rain forest, its beautiful, but it takes like an hour and a half to two hours from the port. If they offer that, im guessing those who choose to do it are probably looking at an all day thing. Their are a million shops in San Juan and a lot of places to eat. Good ones. You have the traditional Mcd's, Pizza Hut but I would go to the Puertorrican restaurants, the food is great. I am looking forward to having "alcapurrias" which are plantain filled meat fritters and "pinchos", kabobs. Those will be found around the streets in carts, very yummy.

We are thinking of doing the castle of El Morro and the fort. We are not booking through Disney though because we know it will cost more than it will to do it on your own, it's literally a couple of dollars.

We are also thinking of heading to Plaza Las Americas which is the biggest and most popular mall in the entire Island. Its like 20 minutes from the port and we have not been to it in years and really want to go.

Im pretty sure they will offer more, but I'm almost certain they will offer what we have thought about. I just wanted to give those in the dark an idea. Maybe that can help some start thinking about options

Flights are booked WOOHOO!!! I had signed up for the Southwest Rapid Rewards Visa Card and they give you 50,000 points after your first purchase. I bought a bag of dog food, received my points, and just booked 3 round trip flights out of BWI to MCO for $15 in taxes/fees. Love Southwest! Talk about a huge savings!!

The only thing is that we need to find something to do until our 5:00 flight in the Port Canaveral area. I was trying to get DH to go to Epcot, but he doesn't want to.

Love Southwest too!! I got our flights back free with southwest promo... but they only have one flight down the day we need to fly, at 7am!! Wanted the kids to go at least a half day of school so have to use Airtran(our only other nonstop option).

We are not doing FE this time, but I like the idea of hanging our FE from 4 years ago outside our door. The FE gifts from than I still have some of them. I know I did hand santizer liquid and wipes for going off the ship, high lighters, pensand paper is heplful for planning out what to or who to see the next day. Hope all FE folks have fun with the gifts.

NTheory asked which everyone preferred....black or red but I don't know that any final decision was ever made. I thought red would allow the graphic that she made show up much better, but that's all I know at this point.

I'm not planning to do FE gifts this time, I feel it's more geared to kids, and we are empty nesters. I will however like to hang my FE, but pin it shut and put a note I'm not in the FE group. I just like my FE!

I so get that!!! Me too! I think I'm gonna go ahead and make a red shirt and see how the graphic looks. If everyone decides black, I will just have two shirts and you can never have too many Mickey shirts!

I can't seem to get through one hour without thinking about this trip! Although I don't post much I must check the Disboards 10+ times a day for new info and pictures.

141 days to go. Once the kids are out of school in 2 weeks. I think I will get them to start working on a Disney Cruise themed '100 day countdown' calender for us.

Whew ... sorry that it's been so long since I've posted. Between VBS, my son's music camp, our kids' homeschool plays, and NO a/c ... it's been a summer already!

Hi Everybody! I haven't read through the thread yet to get to "know" you (but I WILL do that soon!) but I wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves.

This cruise on the Fantasy will be our 6th Disney cruise (first on a new ship ). For my own sanity, I've put off coming here until now since we had a big Disneyworld vacation at the beginning of this month and I can only plan so much stuff at once!

We are a family of 3 - Pamela (pdarrah) 47, DH Dan 45 & DS Darrah 13.

If it is still possible to sign up for the FE list, we would love to be involved. We have done it on all of our other cruises & it is always fun. It was totally insane on the Panama transit since there were well over 100 staterooms involved!

We actually booked this cruise back on our last cruise (well, it was a placeholder date for a while & then moved to this date once released) so it will be 2 full years by the time this rolls around. We picked this date because our school district has always had at least 2 days off (Election day & Fri for parent-teacher conferences) Of course, they changed everything this year and we only get Election day off LOL. Oh well, DS is in 8th grade & his school is pretty good about allowing good students to take time for a family vacation.

It is possible some good friends of ours from the Panama cruise will also be coming along. We have a second stateroom we booked in case any grandparents wanted to join us, but that didn't pan out. Our friends will decide before the final payment, so if they do join us I'm sure they will come here to introduce themselves.
