Hopefully this is how I start a Cruise Meet thread.

I'm not on this cruise, just trying to help out someone who wants the thread started.

Carry on----

Thanks for starting this. I am on this cruise and so want to get things started for the fish extender list and such. Can't wait for the cruise!,

Yay, I just booked this cruise too! I was looking in the fantasy 2016 cruise meets and our sailing was blank. I'm relieved that someone will be on the ship with us. This cruise is a surprise for my daughter's birthday.

Its just the 3 of us going (husband & 10 year old son) - my parents had thought about it but mom discovered last month that she isn't a good cruiser :( Hoping I can convince a friend to join... I need a little princess to get excited about the real princesses with "Aunty"

That is so sweet. But I think you will still enjoy every minute of it.

Hi Brandi,

My husband and I just got back from an Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Disney Fantasy from 11/7-14, 2015. While onboard, we booked this cruise for 2016 and we will be bringing my husband's two daughters with us for their first Disney Cruise. We are so excited to finally be able to do this as a family. Tabetha Wilsher from Stafford, Virginia.

Hi everyone!

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, if no one comes forward to organize a FE for this cruise, anyone can organize the FE right in this thread and just share a pdf document through a private conversation confidentially with just those who want to join in! You do need to have posted ten times in order to be able to start a private conversation with another user - to accomplish this quickly, please visit our Welcome Board (http://www.disboards.com/forums/welcome-to-the-dis.83/) where you'll see the "test posts" thread for assistance.

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine managing meet and Fish Extender discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS). Since not everyone is on Facebook, we want to be sure folks know how to organize the FE the old-fashioned way as well.

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is completely up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM (conversation).

PLEASE review the Cruise Meet Policy regarding Cruise Meet and Fish Extender programs. - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3353477

Enjoy!

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you need any help getting started!

Hi Brandi,

Are you officially organizing the FE for this cruise? I would like to join if you are so please let me know and I can provide you with any information you need for the FE.

We just booked our 1 Disney Cruise and I have no idea where to go from here! 9 of us going, 3 rooms....Where do I start with the rest of the planning???? Any help is appreciated...I am a WDW planning pro, but am completely lost with a cruise...

First welcome, your going to have a blast!

Second, don't start stressing yet. You really won't be able to book anything on the actual cruise until your booking window opens. I believe that's 75 days before the sail date for first time cruisers. Someone please correct me if I'm off on the number of days.

The main thing you can do right now is make sure your three rooms are linked. But, if you booked them together they should be already be linked. Other then that you can look through the DLC website and see if there are excursions, adult dining, spa or BBBoutique reservations you want to make when your window does open.

Let me know if you have any specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them. This will be my 8th cruise, third time on the Fantasy. Happy planning

Hello fellow cruisers,

Does anyone know if someone is officially organizing the Fish Extender "FE" for this cruise? We will be bringing my husband's two daughters with us for their first Disney Cruise and I really want them to get to participate in the FE to make their experience the most magical it can be.

Can someone please explain what a Fish Extender is and what I should do to help my daughter be a part of it? Thanks!

I recently posted this on another thread:
Quick course in Fish Extenders:

Outside your room onboard is a message holder, in most cases it's shaped like a fish:

Once a cruise meet thread is up an running, someone in the group will (should?) step up and say "I'll maintain the Fish Extender exchange list". That person is the center point for all those who want to participate in the exchange. The list can be as simple as DISnames/room number/number of guests or as involved as full names/room number/ages of guests/like & dislikes/allergies/favorite characters/whatever is deemed necessary to know to put together the gifts.

Then each room on the FE list (note this will not be everyone on the Cruise Meet thread for your specific cruise), makes a Fish Extender holder. This is basically an organizer-type hanging bag with separate pockets for each person in the room:

They also make up gifts (either individual gifts or room gifts - whatever is decided by your group) to be delivered during the cruise.

One note about the gifts, some groups set up specific delivery dates, and specify "each person gets a gift" or "only one gift per room" or (even) maximum/minimum price ranges for gifts. Other groups just say "whatever", so people can choose what/how many gifts to give. Some give individual gifts, others only one gift per room, while others might do one for the adults and separate gifts for kids. Or only gift the kids.

This sounds like so much fun! I know that my daughter will LOVE being a part of this! We are definitely interested!

Welcome! We're from California too. We're also doing a park visit pre cruise. I love Universal but my DD isn't tall enough for most of the rides yet, so we're sticking to WDW.

Hi, first time Disney cruise for us, 3 kids and my mom. We are coming from Canada. Where is a recommended hotel to stay 2 nights before near space center? We won't have time to do any parks.
